Great two player game. Really enjoy teh additional complexity compared to the origical Azul, which is also a good 2-player game.

Long time fan of the series, this 2 player focused edition offers some nice variance on the usual mechanics. The first round took a few reads back to the rules, but then we had it down. If you're a fan of the other games of this variety and can make use of a 2 player version, it's a good purchase

I gifted Azul Duel to my boyfriend this past Christmas, and it has quickly become a favorite for our weekend game nights. The play time is about 30–45 minutes, which is perfect for us because we can easily play a few rounds in an evening without getting tired of the game. It’s engaging without feeling overly long or complicated. I’ve never played the original Azul, but this duel version feels perfectly designed for two players. It’s surprisingly hard to find games that work really well with just two people, but this one delivers. There’s enough strategy and variety that it stays interesting even after multiple plays. If you’re looking for a well-designed board game specifically for two players, this is a great option!

Azul – Der Sommerpavillon ist ein echtes Highlight unter den Strategiespielen. Die Spielmechanik ist einfach zu verstehen, aber strategisch richtig spannend. Die Spielmaterialien sind hochwertig, die Farben und Designs wunderschön, fast schon meditativ. Ideal für zwei bis vier Spieler ob mit Familie oder Freunden. Kein Spiel gleicht dem anderen, es bleibt jedes Mal abwechslungsreich. Absolute Kaufempfehlung für alle, die gern taktisch denken, aber trotzdem entspannte Runden lieben!

The older I get, the harder it seems to be to get a group together to play games. Every once in a while when hanging out with family I can get something going, but more often than not my playing has been limited to monthly game nights with one particular friend. I have found Duel versions of classic tabletop games really do a fantastic job of retaining the feel of the original while streamlining the mechanics for just two players. Azul Duel is no exception. Though the original actually plays better with two players than most games, this version is truly designed around the direct competition and is actually quite a bit more complex. Building your placement grid as you go along is truly tricky, and there is a good balance to choosing between grabbing tokens, grabbing new placement tiles, or grabbing wildcard tiles (if available) that can be used later. Overall, I would say this is an excellent two player version, and I envision getting a lot of rounds out of it going forward.
