Patriot PVT36G1600ELK Extreme Performance Viper Series PC3-12800 DDR3 1600 6GB 3 x 2GB Intel XMP Ready CL 9 Non ECC Triple Channel Kit (Blue)

I built my i7 machine about a year ago and I used this memory kit for 6GB of RAM I recently decided to upgrade to 12GB, so I ordered another kit of the same RAM. I installed it and had some trouble getting the BIOS or windows to recognize it. It only showed up as 4 GB now even though I had 6 in there before. After a bit of trouble shooting and trying each DIMM one at a time, I figured out that one of the new DIMMs was bad. Which ever slot it was in prevented everything above it from working. If I install DIMMs into slots 1,2,3,4,5 I have 10 GB reported by the BIOS, if I stick the bad DIMM in slot 6, it reports 8 GB. So I originally installed the bad DIMM in slot 4 and thats why my RAM was reported lower than normal. I RMA the kit back to Amazon. they are really great. They shipped the replacement same day and sent a UPS truck to come and pick up the bad kit. All at no expense to me. Very nice. I placed the RMA request last night and the UPS truck came to my door today to pickup the bad kit today around 3:00pm. Tracking shows the replacement RAM will be here in 2 days. As for the RAM itself, I can review the old set I'm using. I've never had any trouble with it. I tried the XMP profile and it works well. Though I don't use XMP since I can't overclock with it on. I never had any system stability issues what so ever. Oh, one thing. I had a huge aftermarket cpu cooler it looks like it could block the DIMM2 slot(closest to CPU), especially since these DIMMs are very tall due to their heatsink, but I was surprised and relieved that I could install them without removing the cpu cooler. But the CPU fan bracket, once clipped back onto the CPU cooler, will barely touch the RAM heatsink. Its no big deal. UPDATE: The replacement RAM arrive today, I popped it in and it is working great. Windows reports all 12GB from both kits now.

It's a piece of crap, computer freezes all the time. Not useful one bit. I think the seller sold me bad memory. I put my old memory back and wallah!

I purchased these recently for my i7 build and I wanted to keep the cost's reasonable. These were some of the cheapest 6GB 1600mhz kits I had seen available. Patriot has a good reputation and also offer a lifetime warranty so it wasn't a hard decision for me. I got the sticks and popped them in my Asus P6T and it booted right up. Set the XMP profile and off I went with my RAM goodness. No issues trying to get them to run at the advertised speeds. Just worked... which is something that does not happen often in the tech world. Basically, good RAM for the price, works as advertised and Amazon shipped them out quickly.

I wanted a cheap memory for my I7 for my new bulid and the patriot was the best i could find. Packaging was nice, secure and easy to open. The Memory it self looks fantastic and very easy to install. I have not tried it for overclocking but i guess it will do fine

I bought this ram so I could overlock my system without any problems and so far so good. The ram has preformed perfectly, my system gets pretty hot because I have it tucked away in a not so ventilated area and I haven't any any overheating issues. So definitely worth getting the ram with the heat sinks.

I got this to install in my Gateway FX 6803-35 desktop and it works well as far as I can tell. Never have run out of memory since installing it and it installed easily and was instantly recognized by my computer.

When I was building my gaming rig I accidentally installed the memory the wrong way by the other end, so I started smelling some sort of fire-like smoke so I opened my case and saw the ram installed the wrong way so I immediately turned off the power supply and disconnected the cables,then I gently removed the memory from the DIMM hoping it will still work.I waited about an hour before I would install it back again so before I did I called tech support and told them what happened,and may I say,they answered very fast just one minute after I called,he explained to me what to do and said that if it didn't work I will have to replace it free of charge with its lifetime warranty support,but I didn't have to,after I installed it again it work fine and had no damage what-so-ever.I would definitely recommend this and also say that I like there award winning ACC cooling technology.

Memory is well produced, excellent workmanship, packed well in its own packaging. Ease of installation and worked first time with no issues at all. I would recommend this memory to anyone looking for a quick boost in computing power.
