Cute TINY squishy kit
My daughter is obsessed with Taba squishies, but those things are not cheap to buy. She is also very crafty and so I thought these would make a great gift. Everything came in the box and the results are expected. The mold is tiny, but you get enough product to make quite a few of them. She liked that she could color them, but I feel like it could have come with better instructions. Mostly how to make them have a the color paw pads or do other designs. It mostly just covers how to mix it.

It would have been nice if the kit arrived in a resealable clear plastic bag instead of a disposable one since the kit has a lot of silicone. It comes with a lot of pieces, some reusable and some not. The instructions are listed on both bottles of silicone. I started out by measuring how much liquid each mold needs to fill it up. The paw print is 20ml and the bear is 13ml. There are 2 small measuring cups, used to measure out equal portions of liquids A and B. You then pour both liquids into one of the thin plastic disposable mixing cups, stirring for 1-2 minutes. I separated mine into 2 cups, so I could have white accents on my red paw print. The paint is highly pigmented and a small amount is all you need. I poured the silicone into the mold and set it aside. I did the same thing for the bear mold, using a small amount of white for the nose. I did these at night and checked them in the morning. The backs were still tacky. I used a toothpick to loosen the silicone from the edge of the molds, after which a careful turning out of the mold allowed me to get both shapes out intact. The instructions say that the included flocking powder is optional, but if you don’t use it you’re left with an entirely tacky squish toy. To flock the shape, put it in one of the included storage bags with some powder and shake the bag. The flocking will stick on. It will also shed after. The shapes themselves are very squishy, and tackiness aside, feel nice to play with. The kit comes with several small resealable bags to store your creations in. I was hoping to use this kit to make cute squishy toys for stocking stuffers, but their persistent tackiness and/or shedding of flocking powder feels like it’s a gift that will cause cleaning problems for the recipient. I also would have liked information about clean-up. Am I supposed to clean the measuring cups for future use? I tried with soap and water but they’re still slippery with silicone. The kit comes with gloves to wear while working with the materials, does that mean it’s toxic? And if so, is handling sticky cured silicone safe? I feel like there should be some way to remove the sticky layer rather than just covering it up. The kit works and would be great for kids who love slime and other messier toys.
