Y70 Touch Infinite Midi Tower White

​I have built quite a few PCs in my time. I know my way around a zip tie, I can route cables in my sleep, and I generally know what I’m doing. So, when the first Hyte Y70 I ordered arrived, I was excited. ​Unfortunately, that first case didn't just have a minor flaw. No, it actively assassinated my brand-new motherboard. A total, unprovoked massacre. I had to strip the whole system down, replace the motherboard, pack the case back into its box, and return it in a fit of tech-induced rage. ​But, like a man who falls hopelessly in love with a beautiful but wildly unreliable Italian supercar, I couldn't walk away. I ordered a second one. ​And mother of God, I am glad I did. ​Once you get a working unit, the level of thought that has gone into this chassis is nothing short of astonishing. The interior layout is a masterclass. It has so many cleverly placed routing cavities that it’s as if a genius mole has been at work inside the chassis, burrowing out the perfect paths to hide every single ugly cable. ​Then, we must talk about the screen. Usually, integrated screens on PC cases are a complete and utter gimmick. They are about as useful as a solar-powered headlamp. But this one? It’s brilliant. It displays my system temperatures and CPU/GPU usage percentages with absolute precision. Better yet, it displays my glorious Wallpaper Engine backgrounds and links seamlessly to Spotify, allowing me to skip tracks and fiddle with the volume mixer right there on the corner of the case. ​Is it perfect? No. The software can occasionally be a bit buggy, behaving with the sudden temperament of an old Alfa Romeo. It is also staggeringly expensive. It will make your wallet cry real tears. ​But the airflow is spectacular, it looks absolutely phenomenal on the desk, and the payoff you get from that screen makes the occasional software hiccup entirely worth it. It’s expensive, yes, but it is utterly magnificent.
