I bought one of these last year (2025) because it was cheap and (mostly because) available next day and I really needed a belt. I liked it so much that I bought another. They look really nice, crisp and clean with no silly frilly bits and nothing to get caught on your clothing or your significant other's clothing. Nothing to dig in either so stays comfortable all day long. The release mechanism on these belts is easy and idiot proof. Because it has a slight spring to hold it in the closed position, you need to either take a quick breath of take up some slack, just to give it room to move out of the ratchet grabbie areas (technical term, feel free to use it yourself). As a ratchet belt it is of course very very adjustably and reliably adjustable too. So if you larded out one meal and starved the next the belt still works and still fits. The black surface has lasted months for my previous belt, something that some much more expensive ratchet belt buckles have failed spectacularly with before. It comes in a nice little gift box with only the 'Vatan' name on the top of the outside (and the usual plethora of barcodes and other such things on the back. I think only the most annoying of people would turn their noses up at a belt such as this if presented as a gift. And if they do, do you really want to give nice gifts to such undeserving people anyway?
