What is the difference between the regular package and the package that says "Sin Capas Plasticas" at the top?

It's a packaging gimmick. Nothing to make any difference in taste."Con Palo" means it's manufactured with the plant's stems. Which is very common. It doesn't make it any lesser quality. If you drink mate with bombilla then "con palo" helps the bombilla from clogging. For teas, if you're going to steep the mate, then sin palo would make more sense.There is a difference in taste between the "con palo" o "sin palo" but it's a matter of taste, not quality.Sin palo will cost more due to the process cost of removing the stems.Hope this helps.I had bought 1/2 of cruz de Malta for $11 from amazon. Debatable. It is known that Maté contains Theobromine an interesting compound. Overheating it changes it to caffeine. If you cannot drink your Maté immediately after pouring in the "hot" water you're probably drinking a more caffeinated form of Maté. There are studies about Maté stating that when consumed the central nervous system is boosted without the cardio system boost. Caffeine is in stark contrast to this.
