I can’t speak for bears, but it definitely works as an irritant. Sprays a mist about 5-8 feet effectively, but vapors spread out everywhere. If you’re not careful, the tiniest whiff will cause coughing, watering eyes and runny nose, so be aware of wind direction, and get out of the spray area as quickly as possible.

Definitely will NOT Stop a 🐻 Bear. But it will stop a human or several humans if the need arises. Has a few more Ozs of Pepper Spray compared to the competition. This Pepper Spray will stop a human or several but will NOT Stop a Bear I can assure you. Spray that stops bears cost $50.00 and up for a REASON. Who wants to wait till you're nearly getting mauled by a bear or are getting mauled by a bear to find out the spray has NO real effect on them. Definitely not the effect that you need anyways. Hence great for Humans but not so much for Bears. For Bear "spray" I personally would recommend using something that also has CS Tear Gas in it. It works a whole lot better for Bears anyway then just Pepper Spray Alone. The combination of CS Tear Gas and a high concentrate of Capsaicin in it, WORK'S!! As that's the best bear spray deterrent I found other then a powerful big caliber rifle or pistol.

This is very strong, and you can smell it from a distance, be very cautious with it. Good product for the price

One night I was home alone, then I heard a floor board creek on the floor. I reached for the can of spray. I saw a shadow run by in the darkness. He was headed to go and hide in the upstairs bathroom. I chased after him up the stairs. I caught him by the back of his t-shirt and I sprayed him in the face. He growled and screamed in pain, somehow his voice sounded very familiar. When he stood up from the toilet I hurried to turn on the bathroom light. To his anger and my shock and dismay, there was my husband, Earnie staring back at me with tears streaming down his face. From that day forward, I am not allowed to use Aquanet hairspray or butter-flavored cooking spray for protection and he is not allowed to eat Taco Bell on the way home from work. Lesson learned.
