Me and my friends new favourite game!
I've played in multiple friendship groups, with my family and in smaller and larger groups, this game is amazing!! Using critical thinking and deceptive actions, as the rounds go on you slowly piece together the puzzle, working out other peoples true roles and how their brains work, before finding out you've been trusting the killer all along! As a bigger group this game is always interesting, with those around you developing new strategies based on what's been successful previously, making every new round feel completely different. I would say it works better with 6+ people, as we've played with 5 which doesn't give the players enough rounds to guess the killer. Final thing to mention, as I have heard the same comment from all those who play - "Don't kill me first". If you die first, people quickly realise, it's just as fun watching and knowing who the detective, thief and killer is and how they go about deceiving others. Once you die it completely changes your view and is actually one of my favourite parts, as you get to see everyone point blame at someone and can see the look in the killers eye, which no one else notices! Overall this game is super addictive and the best use of money I have spent, we have easily played enough times to make this well worth the money, I even brought another set for my family! I would recommend anyone who can afford it to get it, even going in with mates or asking as a present to play, as the second you start playing and hear the intense monologues, you WILL get hooked!!

Fun Suspense!
We played this game with only 4 players. The more players you have, the more fun the game will be. 2 of the players were my children aged 11 and 13. We LOVED it. With only 4 of us playing, each game only lasted 5 minutes, but we ended up playing for 2 hours. We just couldn't stop. Similar concept to 'Among Us', especially where you have to ask questions, debate, and vote for who you think the killer is. So much fun and this game will now become a staple for our family nights. Can't wait to get more players to join us. Instructions are easy to understand (my 11 year old read them and told everyone the rules). Would definitely recommend!!

Quick fun but lacking logic or reasoning
Hey all. I've noticed all the positive reviews which was the main reason for purchasing deceivers. After several games of 5 or 6 players, I've left me and the other players scratching our heads. I do like the idea of the day and night phase, the latter being where certain players perform actions. The problem for me with this game is the lack of daytime action for which I'll try to explain. Once the night action is done you essentially have 5 or more players all randomly pointing the finger. Reason -- because there has been no information given or observed during the day or night time phase which puts suspicion on people. For this reason, I'm adding many in-house rules which gives extra abilities and actions and most importantly some reason as to why individuals are being accused, rightly or wrongly. In conclusion, if you want a quick basic social deduction with little reasoning then this should give you hours of fun across several games. For individuals, like myself, who likes a bit more logic and strategy then I would be selling it had it not been for me upgrading it. Hope this helps.

Fun and well executed concept
While you don't get a great deal for your money in the game box, you're paying for the idea more than anything. As another reviewer commented, you *could* create the game yourself quite easily with a printer, but then it would be a sub-par experience. Also it appears the game has been removed from the Cryptic Killers website now - the only mentions I can find are on their Social Media platforms with YouTube in particular hosting both a game overview video and a game walkthrough which is essential viewing and provides more explanation than this review can. I recommend watching. The game as a whole reminds me of a card game I used to play called Cheat - it had another name, but I can't call it that here! The objective was to get rid of all your cards by playing them face down in groups of the same number where each player followed the previous, so player A lays down 3's then player B lays down 4's etc. Because the cards are face down, you can play ANY cards in any number, but if another player suspects you've NOT laid down what you stated, they can call "Cheat". If you cheated, you pick up ALL the cards. If you didn't, THEY pick up all the cards. This game is similar in the sense of cheating is an important part of the game. Not only is it important for the killer to "cheat" by pretending NOT to be the killer of course, but every player can contribute to the gameplay with their actions, either aiding or putting off other players. In short, the game is a lot more fun if people "cheat". In particular during "questions" - a period of gameplay where players ask each other about their card etc, it needs some acting from everyone to keep things REALLY interesting. I strongly advise walking the game through a couple of times so that everyone is VERY clear on how to play before starting properly. One thing I don't like - covering your eyes with your hands isn't good enough - the game really needs blindfolds for the night-phase - I advise investing in some cheap ones, or ask everyone to bring one - it needs to fully cover the eyes, including peripheral vision if players are sat close together. Overall, this is a great game for 4-10 players - best with ~5-6 I think. After that too much chance of players being "out" for a long period of time which is no fun for them.

Interesting social deduction game with great replayability
Very interesting social deduction game with great replayability. Everyone picked it up relatively quickly, really builds up after a few games playing, when everyone understands the roles and can start solving the mystery, or deceiving each other. Had loads of fun playing.

Very fun
Very fun game , it's a bit like the TV show traitors had a baby with among us. Ideally need 5+ players for a longer game but still works with 4.

This game is really fun. The Game does not come with the skeleton that is advertised in the picture. This game is definitely for adults it does require a lot of reading. This game can be played many times because each time someone new can be the killer. This game is great for a large party.

This murder mystery card game has really interesting mechanics. You need at least four players to play. There is a QR code you can scan to watch an instruction video. The game consists of several phases in which players, who assume the role of a character, try to guess who the killer is. With each round there is a voting phase where a player is banished. There is another QR code to get an audio track for the night phase of the game, which is a phase where every player except one covers their eyes while one player does something in secret, like switching a card for example. The game continues until the killer is identified. It's a lot of fun, and I appreciate the play-and pause video instructions that you can listen to while playing the game, which helps the first couple of times.
