Great folding liner lock knife for EDC
CRKT knives are I think are an exceptional value for what they cost! They make a solid knife that holds up well to hard use, the steel takes an edge quickly and holds it edge better than most. This M16 03 is a nice looking folder with a false edge on the top of the blade. Knife lock up is solid and the pocket spring clip holds well. CRKT makes several knives in the M16 series and offer some higher end features like ball bearings on the blade fold mechanism, higher grade steels for the blade etc. Rock solid folder for a great price!

High Quality knife at an affordable price!
I bought this exact knife and been carrying it daily since 2019. It’s been a very reliable and durable knife. I like how slim the whole knife is so it isn’t bulky and uncomfortable in your pocket. Love how easily its flicks open when it’s needed and the locking mechanism is very reliable. I just bought a second while it was sale as a backup. Would highly recommend this CRKT M16-03KS to anyone looking for a high quality knife that’s affordable, easy to carry, and use.

Sharp
This knife is SHARP right out of the box, I actually ended up having an accident where I cut my hand and required two stitches, that’s how sharp it is. Its actually kind of light so it you doesn’t feel heavy when its in your pocket, the clip holds nice, I use it to cut whenever I need to and it feels good in the hand however the handle is a little thin but you get use to it, opens smoothly. Great product and worth the money

Thumb studs?
Knife is great except that the thumb studs on the blade are useless and the liner lock is flush with the cutout for the useless thumb studs which means that you really have to diyour thumb in there to disengage the lock. If your hands are wet for whatever reason you’re more than likely to chew the skin on the tip of your thumb as well as mangle your thumb nail trying to close the knife . After a while I got used to it. It would have been smarter to have the thumb stud on one side of the blade and have the liner lock without a cut out; butter yet, just fore go the thumb studs completely an save on production costs. Other than that the knife is pretty dang sharp and pokey AF. It’s a really good fidget thingy but strangers may construe that as creepy. It’s a really satisfying EDC.

A beautiful well built reissue classic. A can’t miss buy.
Just got this classic reissue Kit Carson design M16-03KS for my collection and it’s beautiful. All black stainless steel handle and blade. It’s tight all around. Nothing loose. Blade came sharp and perfectly centered. Takes some pressure to flip open with the fin but once it releases it snaps open nicely. It’s new so with some oil and use I’m sure it will take less effort. The frame lock lines up nicely on the tang when opened. I love the overall design with the spear point. Not sure if I’ll ever use it for an edc it’s just too dang pretty. I’ll enjoy showing it. However, if it performs as good as it looks it would make a great edc for light duty or tactical use. A truly sweet knife.

Overall, a solid knife
Getting to the brass tacks of it, this is a quality folding knife for a relatively low price point. The materials, construction, and features are of high quality. The blade comes out easily after fiddling with it a few times, and it becomes fairly natural in your hand within an hour of mindlessly tinkering with it. I would absolutely recommend it to somebody looking for a folding knife. It's not the best thing you can buy, but it's a low-risk purchase with a good result. Now, that isn't to say that there aren't shortcomings. An issue I have is that I feel as though ergonomics could be brought up a bit by giving just a slight strip of texturing in the grip. It would help guide the hand blindly and naturally to a better resting position. Instead, you're kind of fumbling with it and won't find a consistent grip. The pivoting screw that holds the thing together has a checkered pattern texture on it that I think would be ideal to put in. Even if the texture just rings around the 4 main body holes, it would be a massive improvement for grip quality. Also, the half of the body frame that doesn't feature the body lock mechanism should be reduced back a bit, to make your thumb easier to slide in and release the lock. Since both sides are evenly cut and flush, you really have to go out of the way to release the blade lock. You rotate the knife in your hand, pry a tiny little edge of your thumb meat into the opening, push, and then start to get somewhere. It's stupid. I get WHY they did it, but it's making the lock more front and center than the function and control of the knife, which I think is a backwards approach. Even if they just rounded out 1/8" from the non-lock side to create an opening to access the lock, it would improve the whole knife immensely. You shouldn't have to be rotating the knife outside of your natural holding position to work a feature on it, especially when the whole thing is designed to be as open and spacious as it is.
