It's a tool. It worked perfectly. I only wish I purchased a bigger version. It takes a bunch of effort to get the hole threaded. If you read this, get the bigger one.

Sizing was incorrect, had to go with the next larger size wrench. Otherwise built well.

I bought this thinking I’d finally stop cross-threading everything… nope, still me. Just with a better tool now. The red handles make it look like I know what I’m doing, which is nice. Grip feels good, and the jaws actually clamp down tighter than I expected—no slipping so far, even when I’m probably putting too much torque on it. It won’t fix bad technique though. If you start crooked, it’ll happily help you mess it up. That said—real talk, it’s a solid wrench for the price. Feels sturdy and holds all my taps great.

This thing claims to fit 1/4" to 3/4" square tap drive ends. It DOES NOT fit the 1/2" pipe tap I have which has a 3/4" square connector on it! I had to modify the jaws with a file to make it fit (took quite a bit of metal off of the notches in the jaws to do it. I would have just returned the handle but I needed to complete a job the same day it arrived. Once modified, I can't send it back. It actually needs to have at least 1/16" more clearance all around to meet the published spec. That being said, the overall quality of the tap handle is quite good. I like the softer grips as they are much more comfortable when driving the 1/2" NPT tap . Not the best value for the money though and definitely not compatible with some of the American made taps it is supposed to fit. I won't be buying this one again for sure.

I like it.

First time I used this wrench it just slipped. Can't tighten the handle tight enough to hold the tap securely. I think the threads in the handle stripped. Not good quality metal.
