Only had this bin for a year. The sensor has gone can you buy a new lid

This is my second bin. My first one we did but a new lid.

Does the lid shuts automatically when you wave your hand near it?

No it shuts automatically after 5 seconds when opened by waving hand in front of sensor. unless you press open Button then you need to press shut button.

Can I use an adapter with this bin?

Do not buy. Auto mechanism stops working after a handful of uses
