NASB edition, leather covered Bible
This Bible is great quality. It is a study Bible and has interesting notes to follow along and teach you how to study God's word. The cover is leather and durable. I really like the NASB edition, easy to understand and follow along while being close to the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts. I could not recommend this Bible enough for someone wanting to dive deep into God's word, and truly study the Bible.

Excellent Bible - Teaches you HOW TO STUDY YOUR BIBLE.
Wow !! I ordered a " Used - good condition" and a received a BRAND SPANKING NEW EDITION" wrapped in clear wrapping, band new. I am so happy !! I should have bought this bible years ago...I wanted to...but didn't. well, now is the day ! it is wonderful. It teaches you HOW TO STUDY YOUR BIBLE, its fun. Read the instruction that go with each book of the bible, and do what you can. don't try and do it exactly like the author says, you may not be able too, and it will cause you to be frustrated. No, just do what you can. And over time you will be able to do more and more of her examples. There are a lot of helps in the bible. Maps are excellent. I really like where the author has given much information in the O.T. Sanctuary, Kings and the Prophets at that time. Concordence is very good. Wide margins to write the information she suggested. I write all my notes in pencil. At the end of each chaper is a blank outline to write all the information that you gathered from the book that you read. I am going to Xerox those while they are clean, and write on the Xerox copy only. Because as we grow in Gods word we have a deeper understanding. Some of the harder books, Revelation, Ezekiel, the author has pre-filled in some of the places in the " At a glance" worksheet. You'll need the help. Like the layers of an onion, you will learn this over a period of months. One layer at a time. As you learn one step and work towards the second, keep it in prayer, ask God to help you understand !! and HE Will. !! Get God involved in this study. He is the only one who can open your mind to understand what to do next. Within the 1st hour I got a lot out of my bible study !! Her margin references are very good too.!! Not a lot of them, which is good, because that can be tedious. A computer is better for this. I have purchased...but haven't received it yet, Jerome Smith's Cross Reference Guide to the bible. Which has all the margin texts written out, which I believe will be faster. we'll see. I highly recommend this inductive bible if you are serious about wanting to learn to read the bible and have a wow experience. This bible will go with any bible study you have at church.... or a personal study. This bible teaches you how to observe the text - so that you get more out of your study time. You'll be seeing things you had not seen before, and that's usually what you will write in the margin. You think that you know a text - say, the gospels, we've all read them 10 times in our lives, but what's absolutely amazing is what we don't catch until you are shown what to look for , what was a trickle is now an ocean. Its the neatest feeling - when your mind just opens up. We were happy with the trickle, priding ourselves that we read and understand what our Lord wanted to say, well, now you are going to have such a deep insight, and it will be with you several days, you will want to study more and more. There is nothing like understanding - Proverbs tells us " with all your getting- get understanding !!" This Inductive Bible will do just that. You will have many Wow moments. I don't do the coloring that she suggests, I think its messy and silly. Just do a few of the suggestions at a time and read the marginal references, and over time you will be able to do more. its fun. !!

I Couldn't Be Happier With This Bible
and also with the NASB translation. I had two Bible translations already, but the more that I learned about the original translations, the more inaccuracies I found in both of the translations that I had. This resulted in me not wanting to read either translation anymore. I wanted a Bible translation that was close to the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic, and the New American Standard translation is close. While searching for a new Bible, I knew that I didn't want any of the extra commentary that you find in so many other Bibles today. I didn't want to read about someone else's interpretation of verses or about their opinion on verses and how I should apply them to my life. Instead, I wanted a Bible that let scripture interpret scripture without being clouded by man's opinion and that's exactly what this Bible does. So if you're searching for a more accurate, but still readable translation, that doesn't have all of the added commentary from man, this may be the Bible for you. If you haven't used this translation before, I would recommend going to a site like bible hub or doing a search for free online Bible translations and reading some of the NASB verses to see if you like the wording and tone of this translation. Of course you can also pray for God to lead you in this matter...for help with finding the right translation and Bible for you. Pros: - Much more accurate than some other translations, like NLT - No added commentary so you can let scripture interpret scripture without being clouded by man's opinion. - Page thickness is just right (not too thin or too thick) - Hardcover rather than paperback - Print isn't too small so it's easy to read without straining your eyes - Comes with detailed instructions on how to use the inductive study method to study the Bible, along with example pictures. - Has many maps throughout the Bible and also colored maps in the back. - Shows detailed, color images of the Tabernacle, the High Priests garments, Solomon's temple, and several others. Cons: - It is quite heavy and large, which I don't mind personally, but if you don't like bulky Bibles, then you may not like this one. This Bible is exactly what I have been searching for and I'm so excited to use it to grow in my relationship with God with the Holy Spirit's guidance.

Why did I wait so long to purchase this indescribable Bible???
Wow, where do I start... Well first of all, I have over ten bible's..... I saw this bible and wanted the bible right off, however, I kept in mind that I already had over ten bibles and did I really need another bible???? some of the bibles that I currently own are the key word Hebrew Greek study bible, amplified bible, the message/NIV parallel bible, T D Jakes women's bible, one year through the bible, Niv study bible, (with many other bibles that are all Niv, Thomas Nelson study bible NKJV... (which is the only one that I think is almost as good as this great find TNISB bible, Juanita Bynum Tropical bible, Regular KJV, women's devotional bible, chronological study bible, the bible experience complete audio bible (which is very awesome for on the go word and away from home word), and that is all that I can think of right now... So with the amount of bibles that I already owned I questioned getting another one. The decision, I could not get this bible the TNISB out of my mind. I kept going online looking at it, going by the store to see the bible, thinking about it... why did I do this, well because I had so many other bible's and I could not justify buying another one, plus I had just purchased one. Why do I have so many, because I like to read the different versions and to gain an understanding and to keep my soul and spirit man feed of the word.... I also have a lot because I wanted to study the word and I was looking for a deeper meaning and understanding etc.. TNISB: this bible is so different from all the other bibles that I have seen or came across, I like all of the information that this bible contains. I like the illustrations, the Jewish calendar, the focus on different individuals time frame of life, concordance, one year through the bible and so so many more... you won't be disappointed. Well if you don't have this you are missing out.. I will say this, that you will really study the word with this bible, You will have to really take your time with this one and study this bible, as it has pictures of the holy of holies and who does not want to see that, and just live in the moment of being able to see what the holy of holies really looked like... Well happy studying and enjoy your relationship with the Lord as you begin to see things unfold and you gain your own understanding and gain your own vision of the word as the holy spirit leads you.... This has become my number one bible and makes me want to study more and I am excited about the word, more than I was already....This one is a winner! Side Note: as far as the marking pencil, I have priced them and they are very expensive.... not in my budget right now.. So I will be using map pencils instead.. I would love to have the pencil so that I can have the colors all in one, however the price here online and in the stores are just too expensive right now. If anyone has any other ideas, please post them. Also, the picture above does not do this bible justice... you really will need to see this bible in person and take your time and look through the whole bible. I did not know the bible had pictures of different important things that are in the bible until I purchased the bible. I saw the picture above and looked inside online, but there is no comparison online vs in person.... I am so happy that I have this bible! I too wish that I would have came across this bible before I purchased the other bibles, but everything happens for a reason, because if I had not purchased the other bibles, I would not know just how great The New Inductive Study Bible (TNISB) really is...... Happy feeding on the word!

Awesome Bible- A review from a non-Christian
I am not a Christian, and although I am not looking for spiritual guidance I am looking to understand the history and cultures of the people who wrote and are mentioned in the Bible to get a better understanding of the context in which the Bible was written. So with that said, I got this New Inductive Study Bible. I don't even know where to start. This Bible is jam packed with directions, tools and interesting little tidbits that will keep the curious minds fed. At the beginning of the book are steps on how to use this particular Inductive Bible. And one of the things that made me pick this Bible was the structure of it. It's intended to make you THINK and that's exactly what I was going for. It wants you to find your own interpretation by guiding you along the way with different steps to help keep you on track. I've never seen a Bible like this and I honestly really love it. It even includes symbols you can use for note taking if you so choose. I also find that really helpful but I doubt I'll use all the symbols, but that's just preference, you can of course always do your own thing and make your own. Another thing I noticed is that at the beginning of every chapter in a book there is a line for you to write out the theme of the chapter. I really like this because it gives you something to look for while reading and helps you stay focused. Just another guide to help you learn. There are interesting charts and pictures throughout the Bible as well. There are margins on the side of you like to take notes, however some of the illustrations do take up the margins on some of the pages so if you're a crazy note taker like myself you'll definitely want a notebook or paper to write more on. In the inner sides of the pages are the references. One criticism I have is that I wish this Bible had more detailed references you find at the bottom of the pages in other Bibles. It's not a huge deal, but I will have to use another Bible I bought for that purpose. At the back of the book is more to explore. There's a few pages that explain the major events in Israel history which I found to be interesting and offered some juicy history (I think it's juicy because I don't know anything about the history of the Bible). There is an overview of the Bible that groups the books of the Bible into different categories such as Torah, history, prophecy, etc. which is what I was looking for, however, I wish it was in the front of the book. It's not a bad thing, just a personal preference. This Bible also offers a weekly reading plan to complete the Bible in a year as well as a three year Bible study plan. I wasn't expecting that and I'm not sure if I'll follow that plan just yet, but having the option is nice. There's a few other things at the back of the book and very last are a few maps. I will say this is the one thing that kind of disappointed me. For this Bible being so good I would have really like to have had more detailed maps like ones I've seen in other bibles. These seem a little...simple? Again, there's nothing wrong with them it's just personal preference, but that is the one thing I would change about this Bible. I should have mentioned in the beginning that the cover is very soft, flexible but sturdy. I've only had the Bible for a day but it feels like it will hold up well. Also, in case anyone is wondering, I bought my Bible tabs from Saintiliway Productions here on Amazon, the color is burgundy maroon. I like the tabs because they also include a little summary of what each book is about which I find helpful for learning about each book. They did not come with the Bible obviously but I thought I would share that in case anyone wanted to know. Overall if you're looking to study the Bible but feel you need some guidance and direction along the way, I would recommend you get this Inductive Study Bible. I should also add that Jesus words are not in red. That is another thing I would change about this Bible, but thats my personal preference.

Nice edition, not "The Most Literal Translation"
Generally this is a nice Bible if you don't mind the NASB translation. I have found that most NASB Bibles are nicely made. However, I personally have found it hard to grow to love this translation. I am from a KJV background but I didn't want to have to translate between KJV-speak and modern-speak all the time. After much searching I found an obscure update of the KJV which I printed out and put in a binder. I wish you good luck finding a Bible you like! Pros: Wide margins for people who like to write Single column format Margin references in the center of the book, not in the outside of the pages Not much commentary. About every third page has a little map or some insight in the margin. Cons: I would have been happy to pay more for more opaque paper. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Update 4/20/2008 I must admit I am starting to like this Bible much more. Keith Fuller keithfx at hotmaial -- -- -- -- -- -- -- What's up with the NASB? The home page of the Lockman Foundation says about the NASB: "The Most Literal is Now More Readable". (Actually this is their marketing slogan--it is found many places). Well, maybe this is not the world's worst translation, but the "Most Literal" this isn't. For example, at the end of Luke 18 we read, 41 "What do you want Me to do for you?" And he said, "Lord, I want to REGAIN my sight!" 42 And Jesus said to him, "RECEIVE your sight; your faith has made you well." 43 Immediately he REGAINed his sight and began following Him... In the original, the word "RECEIVE" in v42 is the same as "REGAIN" in v41 and v43. So why did the translators think it necessary to introduce a variety of words when the Greek only has one? Whatever the reason, don't do this and then claim to be the "most literal". Meanwhile, they obscured a point I believe Luke was trying to make--that the blind man received exactly according to his faith. (See Matthew 9:29 "According to your faith be it unto you") Here is another example from Mark 5: 28 For she THOUGHT, "If I just touch His garments, I will get well." The word "THOUGHT" here is baloney. The Greek word literally means "kept saying". There is a difference between thinking and saying. One is not legally binding, the other involves movement of lips and making sounds. Again, the translators choose their interpretation over the literal meaning. (To its credit, this edition has the correct translation in the margin; however I have seen many editions without these notes in the margin.) How about some real literalness, like saying "immerse" instead of the normal "baptize". Or for that matter, what about the 6000+ times that "Jehovah/Yahweh" is translated as "the LORD", perpetuating the ancient Jewish tradition of not saying the name of God. To be consistent, the word "the" in "the LORD" should be in italics. (Where do you find "the" in "YHWH"? -- nowhere). The way it appears, sans italics, is therefore misleading; not what we would expect from "The Most Literal" translation. There may be some truth in what the foreword says: [[ There is yet another name which is particularly assigned to God as His special and proper name, that is, the four letters YHWH (Exodus 3:14 and Isaiah 42:8). This name has not been pronounced by the Jews because of reverence for the great sacredness of the divine name. Therefore, it has been consistently translated LORD. ... It is known that for many years YHWH has been transliterated as Yahweh, however no complete certainty attaches to this pronounciation. ]] Another reason could be that if they translated YHWH correctly nobody would buy the NASB. Also, where else do we let the fact that "no complete certainty attaches to this pronounciation" stop us from translating a Hebrew name with an English name? How much certainty is there to any of the 3000-year-old names in the Bible? I've also found some places where it is needlessly awkward. For example, here is 1 Cor 13:13: 13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. Is this even a real sentence? Wouldn't your English teacher take off points if you wrote this? Even a little bit of punctuation, without changing any words, can rescue this: 13 But now faith, hope, love, abide--these three. But the greatest of these is love. The NASB is not a bad translation, but if you think you can get more insight with it than your friends who read the ESV, HCSB, NET Bible, World English Bible, or NKJV, I'm telling you now--look elsewhere. It is not true that "The Most Literal is Now More Readable" as the Lockman Foundation advertises. Maybe this was true 30 years ago. Since then many other good translations have been produced. Hope this helps.

Good study Bible that lets you focus on the text
I purchased the New Inductive Study Bible (with the Updated NASB text) because I wanted to focus on the Biblical text and not on the copious notes found in most other study Bibles. The NASB translation is one of the most literal and includes important features in the text such as italicizing words not found in the underlying original languages, capitalizing personal pronouns of the Deity, and using small caps for Old Testament quotations found in the New Testament. The New Inductive Study Bible puts the NASB text in a single column, with each verse starting a new line. This makes it easy to find a particular verse. Toward the outside of the book is a large margin for personal notes, and close to the binding is a column of NASB references. For me, this is an excellent setup for reading and study. This study Bible is different from most in that it forces you to do the information-gathering and note-taking instead of relying on the notes of other people. Although there is a short description of each book at the beginning of that book, you have to supply your own chapter headings (by writing in the space provided) and at-a-glance outline at the end. However, there is ample documentation at the beginning of the NISB to get you started. Additionally, there is a lot of reference material in the back of the NISB to help you understand Biblical history. A brief concordance is also provided to help you quickly find major passages. Of particular importance to my purchase was the binding, which seems to be the sturdy Smyth Sewn type that should hold up for years of constant use. I purchased the genuine leather version to ensure a lasting cover (although the leather is thinner and more stiff than I prefer.) The paper is of good quality, but tends to curl. I ordered the thumb-indexed version and the pages curl quite a bit near the index cutouts. This hasn't been too much of a problem as I am always careful to smooth the pages down before closing the Bible. Overall, I am satisfied with this Bible and would recommend it to anyone who wants to dig deeper into God's Word.

Great Bible
Great Bible, good translation, margins a bit too small for my taste, but that's ok. The introductions to the way the books should be studied are superfluous, but some might find it helpful.

Bíblia de estudo indutivo
Excelente Bíblia. Vem com a instrução de como fazer estudo indutivo, com espaço para preenchimento ao final de cada livro na Bíblia. Possui alguns recursos extras, como divisão de Reis e profetas, concordância bíblica. O tamanho da letra é ótimo e está dividido em apenas uma coluna por página, facilitando a leitura.

Precept Musthave
If you are studying a precept course (which I am) then this really is a must have book. Each book has its own "At a glance" chart to fill in, theres planty of space in the margins to write notes and its full off much needed and interesing facts on each book and on the people and history etc, There is word studies and maps and explanations on all aspects of the precept study courses. I have found it extremely useful and invaluable.

Exceeded expectations
Was very pleasantly surprised to see the quality of the beautifully done full colour maps and illustrations. Easy to read text and font, and good instructions. Love the soft cover. The only thing I would have liked more would be thicker pages, wider margins, and extra marker ribbons, but I didn’t want a large heavy book, and this is a really great study bible that is comfortable to hold and carry around (it isn’t a huge heavy tome textbook, requiring a table top to study on.) If you’re looking for similar qualities, I give High recommendations for this one!
