IT WORKED!! IT WORKED !!! IT WORKED!!!
I had a HUGE rat and mouse infestation, that just came out of nowhere, then we figured out it had come from a big huge pile of boxes of stuff and trash that had been left from previous owners next door from their storage. When it got cleared away, suddenly, everyone looked for a new home. I was very hesitant in trying this after the mixed reviews. When I say i had an infestation,I am not exaggerating, when I say that I would see them running all over the counters, across curtain rods, under the cabinets, and on top of my cabinets where there was an empty space to put decorations, and I would open my cabinet and the whole family would be looking at me,mom, pop, and junior, and a smaller one,4 at a time that time. I would see them in all areas just EVERYWHERE,IT WAS HORRIFYING. I was going to use Terminex, but they would have laid traps, poison, and I was so afraid a neighbor cat or my own would pets would get sick,or die,and I didn't want t kill them very much, just wanted them to go back outside, neighbor cats pretty much take care of that stuff anyways, and that is sad enough, and some escape, and at least when they catch one,I know they will not be hurt by poison, and at least I am not to blame.Terminex said they would come out and clear little dead guys for me,and gave a guarantee and they said that this would possibly work, but not for long. My dog was having a nervous breakdown hunting the rats, she hated them, and even ripped holes in my walls. My cat lounged around watching them like he was watching a T.V show. Both tried to play and seemed to like the little teeny mice and killed a few,of the babies, which made me cry. It was when one baby/young mouse,so teeny finally got on a glue trap I had set,the rats, just pushed them under the door and acted like what did I think ,were they stupid? Well, anyways,a baby mouse got on a glue trap, and it was HORRIFIC.The screams of pain, the squeaks :( I am by the way, an ARA,and I do not want to kill ANYTHING but flies because they like to annoy the crap out of you,BUT I do not want to live with rats and mice, but when the baby was stuck and hurt,my dog actually tried to help it,which made it scream louder. PLEASE PEOPLE: DO NOT USE GLUE TRAPS THEY ARE CRUEL AND HORRIBLE. I cried alot, screamed, and had to go end his little life myself,it was one of the worst things I have ever done, and I still feel bad, there was no other choice,he was tore up. The regular traps thankfully did not work either,as that would have traumatized me,so badly. So,I decided that I would try this product, after looking extensively for a long time,I decided this was the one. I had a cheap one in my room, that i found did at least stop them from invading in here, but otherwise,I was pretty terrified to leave my room. So I get your product, and I wait. And I wait. And I wait. No change at all. THEN!! A MIRACLE!!! Suddenly, just out of the blue,I would say 3-3 and 1/2 weeks in,I went out there and to my surprise,NOTHING. No-one scurrying off ,no-one scaling walls and curtain rods to get back into their homes-MY CABINETS,walls, and under the sinks.I thought, this is a fluke. Ran got a drink, and raced back to my room,Faye searching desperately ,as she was certain there must be one somewhere. This went on for a week. I did not believe. Faye did not believe. The cat was like, now what am I supposed to do,I have nothing to watch on "T.V" So I bought them on may 5th,got them a few days later, and I would say by the end of June, they had cleared out. Weirdness. Faye still did not and does not believe. She is slowly forget her trauma of having to protect me,as she did not like them for making me shriek. The cat has found other entertainment, and is back to destroying my things, and slapping everything from every surface, especially my drinks. Now,I had a couple rooms closed off. One bedroom is a box room, and one is just closed and fairly empty, and it was there that Faye had previously torn through the wall in the bathroom,by the tub near the empty closed room, because she just knew there was one in there, and was determined to get it out.Of course, the cat and dog ALWAYS go to the bathroom,to make sure that I am not eating in there,or doing anything fun without them, plus they are in love with me,so I think that is why the bathroom was always all clear, except I worried why had Faye torn the hole in the wall before,if there was nothing there. This is the only bad thing since they cleared out,and I had never had them come into the bathroom before. I walked in there, flipped on the light, and saw a rat, just sitting there, looking very confused, who actually was a cuter rat than the others, not that grey kind, but still terrifying, and we both scared the crap out of each other and ran the same way-OUT,I was running backwards and fell and got hurt, and he ran over my foot,OMG,and Faye gave chase, barking "I TOLD YOU HE WAS IN HERE!" and I have never seen him again. I believe that was two weeks ago. I am afraid the Terminex guys will be proven right and they will return, but grow less afraid every day,as I believe he was just a straggler left behind. I think that one reason they take so long to go,is they must find a way to get their babies out,and find a place to re-locate,I really do. Why else would it take so long? So that is 4 months now I think that i have had an all clear, except the straggler that almost killed me,who has apparently vacated. So I do give 5 stars for this product, and I do think though that I need one more, for the back part of the house,as I do fear they will be in those rooms. I have one in the front, and one in the middle, and the cheapie one in my room. I have my bedroom master bath blocked off,and am afraid to go in there, and am afraid to go into those two locked up rooms, even though I do not hear ANY sounds from them, like I used to ALL THE TIME. Their vacating the house was either an act of God,or your Pest offense POBD-1-01 model. I hope you will please still have a couple left for me when I am able to buy a couple more,I KNOW they work. I am giving such a long detailed story,A. Because I am a writer and write stories, and do this with just about everything I write, and B. I saw far too many negative feedbacks, and put a leap of faith into your product, decided that they were probably like me,would want an immediate result, and I did hope for one,but you said how long it takes and the leap of faith paid off.You simply may never know what it was like for me,I felt like I was living in a nightmare,so scared of them, knowing they were re-producing,and knowing I could not EVER risk my pets lives or my neighbors.I think of it every day,how very thankful I am to not be scared any more. I will be HAPPY to have anyone talk to me,that does not believe this thing works,I am a real person, and I had a real home invasion, and I am serious, they could even call me. So much safer then traps and poison, and honestly, you may not see dead rats and mice laying around as proof, but it cleared them in the same length of time or less than Terminex said they could.Nothing against Terminex, but this is a MUCH safer way to do it. I believe that people did not give the the amount of time you said it would take to work,as they would have thought,if it is gonna work,it will work right away. Incorrect. It takes that time, for whatever reason-I seriously think it is that they always have babies, and have to wait for them to be able to be on the move, but I am sure you know some other reason. If anyone says this does not work, they must have mutant rats and mice, and I believe I had three different types in here. One day NO rodents, two days after the clearing of the lot,it was rodent city. I am so very thankful I could empty the house without hurting anyone else, other than the poor guy on the glue trap. I am on 3 acres, they have plenty of room to be somewhere besides here. Again,I will endorse your product any day of the week, and PLEASE if your going to stop making these,PLEASE reserve a couple more for me just to be safe,I cannot go through that again, and yours is the only one I know works, and I cannot afford to be buying all different kinds,I am on a budget,on disability. If they do come back, and your product is still working,I will be letting you know too, because you need to know,so you can use your obvious genius and make it where they NEVER ever come back. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS! I thought I would have to move out,and I own this house. :) :) :) OH!! You will not believe it but I have a P.S. If you have anything that will make the flies and ants stay away, could you let me know? Again,I have a real problem with poisoning, fear of cats and dogs breathing, but even if I treated my yard to keep them from in the house, that would kill other insects, and in case people do not know ,let me throw my ARA bit in here,WE ARE ALMOST OUT OF BEES,WE HAVE KILLED THEM ALMOST TO THE POINT OF EXTINCTION,so please do not just run around helter skelter poisoning the earth, even if it is your yard. Plus other insects and animals. Thank you again for your amazing invention,it is BRILLIANT :)

WORKS FOR ME
On April 20, 2015, I purchased two electronic pest repellers and as of today, July 1, 2015, I have to say that I'm pretty happy with this product. For this reviewer, these units have worked as advertised. I plugged them in different rooms of my 1,500 sq ft home. I had a small problem with roaches in the house and frankly it was getting too expensive for me to pay monthly extermination fees so I decided to give them a try. Very easy to install, you just plug it into your electrical outlet it does not cover up the entire outlet if you plug it into the one on the bottom. I have never used this type of product before and I was a little skeptical. It doesn't contain poison so it's safe to use around children and some pets (refer to list of pets that should not be exposed to this pest repeller). It works by sending electronic pulses through the wiring in your home and apparently, roaches, mice, and rats don't like this. It cycles through these pulses so that the critters don't get used to them. I don't think it kills them because I haven't found any dead roaches I just think it drives them out. It doesn't make a sound and it has a soft light that doubles as a nightlight. They didn't work overnight but I noticed that gradually there were less and less roaches about four weeks after I installed the units and I've only seen one roach in the last four weeks. I don't know how well it would work if you have an infestation of roaches but I guess you could purchase several units and plug them in different rooms of your home. I also can't tell you if it works on mice or rats because I don't have this problem. Overall, I am very satisfied and would recommend it to anyone with a roach problem. * * UPDATE * * 02/10/2016: It has been 10 months since I purchased two of these units and I have to say that they are still working very well. Haven't seen a roach in months. One of the units does shut off but all I do is unplug it for about 10 seconds then plug it back in and it starts working again. I've only had to do this twice in the last ten months so not really a big issue for me. The other unit has not had this issue at all. Overall, I am still very satisfied with them and will be purchasing another unit for an upstairs bedroom (the two units I have are installed downstairs). I would still recommend this product for homes with roach issues.

Best scorpion repellent I have found!
We live in the country and have a lot of bugs around us. We have never had problems with roaches, ants, or most insects, or mice. We do, however have problems with scorpions, moths, and spiders. I have always read that if you control the other bugs then you won't have scorpions and spiders. I wish someone would tell that to the scorpions and spiders. When we first moved in just over 2 years ago, the scorpions were really bad. We counted over 14 in less than two months. I did everything I could think of and it didn't help. One day I was looking up scorpion repellers and this thing came up. It was definitely worth a try. I bought one. We went a full 12 months without a scorpion. Then inexplicably we started seeing them again. Oh well it worked for a while. Maybe it just stopped working? Got another one. Poof! no more scorpions. It has been about a year since we got the new unit. This last week I've seen two scorpions. I'm ordering a new unit. They seem to work right at a year, then they need to be replaced. Some people have really reduced their rating due to this fact, I think it is worth it. I don't know how effective they are with mice and rats, because the lower ratings seem to be by people who have this problem. The first two times I ordered them I paid somewhere around $30 each. Now they are $17. It is definitely worth $17/year to keep scorpions out of my house. Now for the spiders. They don't stay out completely even when this thing was new, but it does seem to significantly reduce the numbers. Useless Information included at no extra cost. - We have large numbers of what I have been told are Wolf spiders. They are almost fearless, but also just as harmless. I catch them and throw them back outside. They are known to kill Black Widows, which are not harmless and I have seen many of them on my property, but never in my house, thankfully. Sometimes the Wolf spiders will hiss at you. My wife told me this and I didn't believe her and told her, "they can't hiss". Then one day there was one in the room and when I got close to it it hissed at me. I said, "what was that." My wife said, "it was the spider that can't hiss, hissing at you." UPDATE - I just saw a live scorpion in my house, it is 6-29-2017. This is the first one I have seen since I put the last units in place. So this time it almost worked for two years. I'm ordering another one.

Ants Begone!
I purchased 2 of this product 3 years ago from a local store and placed them on opposite ends of my single story home (living room and main bathroom). For a few days, there seemed to be more ants than before and we thought it was just a total waste of money. Then within a week or 2, the ants were gone! Of course we see 'stragglers' once in a while but for the most part I'm convinced that these electronic units are far more effective than the ultrasonic variety that only work in obstruction-free areas. Although some people are annoyed with the blinking red light, it doesn't bother us at all. It is simply saying that the units are 'on' and working. The green light comes on in 3-minute intervals telling you that it is sending electronic pulses through the electrical wiring. It doesn't kill pests, just drives them away. That's probably the reason we noticed more ants for a couple of days when they scurried out from the inner walls. Bear in mind, these units are electronic and not ultrasonic and therefore probably not effective against pests once they get past the inner walls and into the house. Also I doubt the effectiveness of these electronic units in old and poorly wired homes, single-walled homes, old apartment buildings, basements, and barns. On the other hand, ultrasonic units are useless if placed behind obstructions such as beds, bureaus, desks, appliances, etc. This is probably why there are so many varying and negative reviews on both electronic and ultrasonic pest repellers. When I saw these electronic units on Amazon for less than 17 bucks I bought 2 additional units and plugged one in the garage and the other in the attic. Maybe this is overkill, but for a small investment and pennies added to my electric bill, we are enjoying a virtually pest-free home. P.S. I don't know what the life span of this product is but the original 2 that we installed 3 years ago seem to be working fine.

Not helping German Cockroach Problem - Worse?
This is my first Amazon review and I'm writing so I can offer some help to those who are dealing with the (german) cockroach problem and look to this for help. My mother purchased this for me after I moved into a new apartment and saw cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom. I purchased this brand specifically because compared to other brands -- it seemed to have the best track record and the science behind it made sense. So I plugged it into my room, directly behind my bed -- hoping at the very least it would keep the cockroaches out of my room. More than four weeks later, my room has the worst bug problem in the whole 4 bedroom apartment. At first I thought it was the "increased activity" -- but after a month, I'm still seeing more in my room than anywhere else in the house. For instance, on a day when we see one or two in the bathroom or kitchen -- there are sometimes 5 or more in my room, which by all accounts is the least roach friendly place in the apartment. There's no food, everything is cleaned once a day with Clorox, boric acid is *lightly* sprinkled on the floor and I spray a combination of rosemary, peppermint, lemongrass and cedarwood essential oils (all supposedly roach-hating smells) every day. Yet still, the roaches are most often seen in my room, caught in one of several of non-baited, glue traps. What's ironic? I've seen them/caught most of them within a foot of this device. For those thinking of ignoring this post, I urge you not to -- at least with the German cockroach problem. I am a well-researched optimist who had great hope for this product. I gave it time and a chance to work. But truthfully, the only thing that has helped is having the exterminator come. I try to do things the chemical-free way/least toxic (hence Rosemary oil, boric acid and Pest Offense) -- but none of it helped. I also spoke to the exterminator about the product and he said that while he has heard/seen it work on some pests (he mentioned rodents, etc.) and said it works on some roaches -- he said that even if it works initially it wont work on the "new generation" of roaches. If it does work, it works best on pests that haven't been exposed to its unpleasant noise. Whereas younger ones who are born into that environment aren't repelled by it because it's kind of like their "normal." Hope this makes sense and is helpful. Good luck with your battles. (And FYI if you're living in an apartment -- most landlords are legally required to exterminate if there's evidence of an ongoing problem -- not just the occasional roach. This rule changes in each state but the general idea is to notify them of the problem in writing, give them a time period to address the problem, usually something like 10 days, and say if they don't address it in that time period you will hire your own exterminator and deduct the costs from your rent. Check the laws in your city/state or call an information line and they'll coach you through it. And cite it when you address your landlord.)

Best Electronic Pest Repeller
This is hands down the best electronic pest repeller. In fact all the other electronic pest repellers are gimmicks compared to this product and there is a reason why it is called the original electronic pest repeller. I have used several electronic pest repellers that are cheaper, but not as effective as this in my opinion. The reason why this is more effective than other pest repellers is because it covers more square feet per floor and is more difficult for pests to out maneuver or adapt to the electronic signal produced throughout the walls. For example Pest Offense covers 2,500 square feet per floor compared to Riddex Plus that covers 2,000 square feet per floor and produces less stronger electronic signal throughout the walls of a house that is less likely to freak pests out to the point that they just leave your home especially big pests like rats. I had rats that were living the the garage of my house downstairs, so I bought a Riddex Plus because it was cheaper and I thought it would work to get rid of all the rats in the garage, but it did not. In fact the rats were able to out smart the electronic signal produced by the Riddex Plus, so during the day you would not see or hear a rat in the garage, but one would always come out at night and would run away to hide once it saw a human. Also I could hear them running through the walls making noise with the Riddex Plus plugged in especially at night when asleep. I decided to buy another Pest Offense to plug downstairs to see if it would make a difference and plugged the Riddex Plus in another area in the house where it would not have to work so hard or cover much square feet because I believed it just was not strong enough. To my surprise the first day I plugged the Pest Offense downstairs the rats in the walls began to react much differently to the electronic signal produced in the walls. It freaked them out to the point they were quietly trying to get out of my house. I have not seen or heard a rat in my garage since the first day it was plugged in and I feel much safer entering my garage. It worked like magic and I do not know where the hell the rats went. They might have traveled to another house for all I care.

1 Month of test on this item
Hello ladies and gentlemen! The main reason i brought this device is to get rid of roaches around my house. I had this for 1 month of test right now. I can't say this is the best item in the market, but it somewhat works. I give it a 3 stars. I do noticed less cockroaches around my kitchen area. Sometimes, i walk to the kitchen to see if there is any cockroaches still there. In fact, there are still there. I normally see about 10 roaches hanging around the kitchen area. Now, i see only 3.. In the middle of the night, i use my trusty shoes to kill them.. Maybe, that was the reason why i noticed less roaches? I really not sure. The thing i notice now, more roaches going to my bathroom that was far away from the kitchen area.. Maybe, they ran to there instead.. lol My girlfriend freaked out and ask me to kill it.. All i see was a very small cockroach around. Sometime, very hugh one. Going back to what i'm saying.. It somewhat works, but isn't the best product around the market.

My house will never be without these units!!!
I have used this type of electronic pest repeller since 1991, sometimes Pest Offense brand, sometimes Riddex brand. These work fantastically on rodents and roaches! It works fairly well on ants if you plug it in near the place where the ants are entering but it takes a bit longer to drive them out. It is not very effective on spiders. BEWARE: the ULTRASOUND units DO NOT WORK AS WELL. I suppose some people buy the Ultrasound units if they have rodent pets such as hamsters, gerbils, mice, etc. If you do not have rodent pets, BE SURE to buy the Electronic units, not the Ultrasound units. -- IMPORTANT: When you buy these units you should always TEST them as soon as you get them, to be sure they are functioning. (Occasionally a new one is faulty and must be returned. By the way, just because the lights are on/blinking does not guarantee the unit is working properly.) The easiest way to TEST them is this: Plug in the unit, be sure the red light is blinking, then use a metal tableknife or butterknife, lay the blade flat against the top of the unit, or flat against the front of the unit or the side of the unit, be sure the knife blade is making maximum contact with the unit. You should feel a very gentle vibration when the light is blinking. -- Also it is a good idea to TEST the unit every few months because they do stop working sooner or later and have to be replaced. If your building has been roach-free and mouse-free for several months, and suddenly you see a roach or see mouse poop, test your unit(s) and you will find that one or more has stopped working. -- Side note: The first units I purchased in 1991 were Riddex brand and cost $50 each. The units worked well for 8-10 years!! The replacement units I purchased (Pest Offense) were $30 each, and only worked for 3 years. For the past 8 years or so, the units are costing $20 each, and only work for about 12-18 months. I suspect "planned obsolescence" is involved in the durability of the current designs.
