(Something on Face Tracking at the end) Arrived brand new, still on the shrink wrap and everything, if you're seeing you controllers have this white patina or residue on the rubber under side, that's normal and it's just from sitting on box for long time, it will rub off as soon as you start using them. Controller tracking and Hand tracking worked perfectly for me, even on a dimly lit room with just a little jitter and rotation issues. The way the headset sit on your head its weird at first, even more so if you're used to straps like the Vive Pro head strap and Valve Index but nothing you won't get used to, plus the adjusting controls give you a lot of freedom to have it hug your head the right way. Battery life while not horrendous like others have mentioned, it does leave a bit to be desired but at least the charging dock makes up for it, it charges surprisingly fast if you use the included cables or any other high quality charging cable. Unfortunately, it seems that Nvidia broke something on their most recent drivers and trying to use the headset on Link mode just grinds your PC to a Halt, can be solved by rolling back the drivers to a stable version but honestly, Steam Link was so painless and just worked with minimal set up compared to the Link cable that you might as well just get the link cable to charge it while you play using Steam Link. It does feel like a premium headset, I say for me I got my money's worth in terms of price vs quality. The build, the materials, the unboxing. It felt like I paid and got for that premium. I had no issues with controller and Face Tracking after the right set up, if you have issues after some use, please note that sweat will kill the lower and sometimes the whole face tracking module. It is not recommended that you wear this headset for high intensity VR games and that you keep yourself cool while wearing it.

Honestly came in perfect. Packaging wasn't bad and nothing seems wrong with it. Pros: A good wireless headset for those who don't want to be cabled. The quality is pretty good especially coming from an index. Pretty easy to setup and connect to my pc. Cons: The battery life is pretty low. Only 4 hours without the full face tracking activated. With it is only 2 hours. The weight of the headset is mainly towards the forehead which can feel uncomfortable after long periods of usage. I'm not a fan of quest controllers but its more of an opinion. Overall: Most of the cons you can easily solve like battery banks if you are a true vr user, A head strap to distribute the weight, and I use index controllers so I'm good.

Okay, so I'm coming at this from the view of someone who's had both Q2 and Q3 and I can tell you there are pros and cons to this headset in comparison. Let's get the rather egregious negatives out of the way: this thing has AWFUL controller tracking, which is a serious shame considering that it has 360 degree tracking ON the controllers. I have only had it for maybe 2 weeks now and I can't tell you how many times I've looked down at my "hand" in game only for it to not be where it's supposed to be. They drift into weird places and take a bit to find themselves. Now, I use this thing primarily for VRChat, which is what I got it for. I will tell you the resolution is a downgrade when compared to the Q3. The pancake lenses are still nice, but the resolution is noticeably less than the 3, but considering that the 3 came after, that's not really a surprise. If you're into full immersion in your games, the light leak from this thing is really a drawback, as the lower part of the facial interface isn't even trying to block out light. And when you're using the face tracking, this thing gets HOT, which can be really bad because you do NOT want to sweat into this thing. Now let's talk about the pros, shall we? I mentioned face tracking and lemme tell ya, this FT is good. I used Babbel and EyetrackVR on my old Q3 and they don't even hold a candle to the accuracy on this thing. The Pro captures EVERY eye movement and expression and it's magical. It's the primary reason I got it and it's really something else. The presentation of the Pro is also really nice. It comes in a pretty well-thought-out box, though you're gonna have to explore every nook and cranny to find all the stuff you need. The charging dock is a really nice touch and the magnetic plates on the controllers makes it pretty easy to align them on it. The battery life is decent enough for a couple of hours of fun and overall it's decently comfortable enough to wear for long periods, though a caveat of this is that the headstrap is integrated into the structure of the headset, so it's a rigid piece instead of the moveable strap of the others in the Quest lineup. It is adjustable, but only to change the overall size of the band to fit around your head. The headset isn't all that heavy and the weight is distributed a lot better than the other headsets I've had from Meta since the battery is in the back of the headset instead of in the front, meaning that while the overall weight isn't much different, the headset FEELs more comfortable to wear and move in because not all the weight is focused on the front of your head. I haven't really tested the standalone performance as I play PCVR exclusively, but it seems to work decently enough doing that. I do use it wirelessly, relying on Virtual Desktop to connect to my PC and while there were some teething issues, the foveated streaming option in VD that takes advantage of the QPro's eye tracking is a really nice touch. Overall, if you're getting this thing for what most people in the VR space seem to want it for (the face tracking), it's honestly pretty great. The controller tracking and the fact that this thing gets really hot using FT are more than bearable. If you're just out for a good headset for regular VR gaming, maybe skip this one. The 3 has better resolution, the controllers are more consistent even if the tracking isn't 360 degrees and the accessory lineup for it is so much better. In my eyes, this thing was more than worth what I paid just in being able to express myself better in VRchat and I've had a TON of fun using it. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Upgraded from the quest 2, best upgrade possible. Tracking is amazing, though the facial tracking is kind of weak, but it might just be the models I am using. Easy to set up right out the box. Only complaint is the battery life. Really need to get a battery pack to extend the life otherwise you're going to be tethered to a charging cable.

Works better with computer, stand alone is not as good but is playable.

I was very excited for this VR headset, and very disappointed to see how poorly it runs. It's not a cheap headset, and I hoped to get it for the face and eye tracking for vrchat. Because I'm on the road I can't use my index. So I thought this stand alone and possibly with a laptop would work. Everytime I launch I have to change a bunch of debug settings which don't stay changed next day, I have to have eye and face tracking turned off, and every vrchat model. With that I still struggle to play. I will lag in a world by myself, get horrible screen tearing, and if I open the meta menu, it usually starts spamming it open and closed making the headset unusable till I do a full restart. If your not looking for a stand alone, get the index...

My son upgraded from the Quest 2 to the Pro and it's SO MUCH BETTER! It's disappointing they discontinued it because it does some cool stuff. The face tracking looks really cool and your avatar's mouth moves in sync with the works you are saying which is very noticeable vs the other avatars whose mouths are not. The visuals are outstanding as well. The only CON is how it fits on your head...to get it to stay on it needs to be quite tight and it gets uncomfortable. We did end up buying the better "comfort kit" to go with the Pro.
