StrongBoard Balance Board, Black/Green

This is by far the best balance board on the market. Years ago, I purchased another brand balance board that consists of balancing a board on a cylinder that moves back and forth. The reason for purchasing a balance board was to get better at balance to improve my surfing and for overall fitness. Core workouts using balance boards can be some of the best workouts to improve health.I really enjoyed the other balance board, but it had a few flaws. For one thing, if you lost balance, the board could shoot out like a rocket and do some serious damage to anything it hits. Another problem is that since you are balancing on a cylinder that moves back and forth, it also tends to shift its position in the room gradually, causing you to have to get off the board, pick up both board and cylinder and then set back down in center of the room. This realignment had to be done about every minute or so of using the balance board.With the Strongboard, there is no back and forth movement, thus the 2 problems with the previous board are both eliminated! I literally cannot point out a single flaw with the strongboard.I was worried that the strongboard wouldn't be that difficult and that I wouldn't get as good of a workout as my old balance board. That couldn't be further from the truth. The best example I can give you as to what it feels like to stand on the strongboard is if you have ever been to a public park that had those old fashioned metal seahorse or other animals that are on a spring for little kids to climb on. If you as a kid ever tried to stand up on one those, this is the feeling that you get standing on the strongboard. It is impossible to find a balance point where you can just stand and rest. You could literally just stand on the strongboard, watch television and get a workout from the constant balancing you are doing.Then if you incorporate extra exercise like hand weights, squats, pushups etc, you will get a serious workout.I am so excited about this strongboard that I am going to tell everyone I know about it. This is the real deal. Get it, you will not be disappointed.

I went to the park with my grandson and there was a sprung platform in the playground. I stood on it for a minute and was a little winded without moving. It got me thinking? This is the product I was looking for and it is amazing. I am a 66 year old man in good health and moderately good shape. Without covid I play pickleball and when it’s not snowing I ride my road bike 15 vigorous miles a couple times a week -lus yoga. I was looking for a product that would strengthen my core improve my balance and raise my heart rate that I would use, and I found it. This product is not expensive, it is cheap. Incredibly well made and finished with 4 steel springs and heavy plastic base and platform. You need to mount it with care and have a table or other support within reach for support. Once you are on it every muscle in your body particularly your legs and core are required to try to find a balance point. But it is unsustainable. The muscle flexing is subtle but is every muscle from your chest down, so it is exhausting. You feel like it is stressing the muscles and ligaments in your hips, knees, ankles and even feet if bare footed. Not sure why people are saying it is expensive. I have only just gotten it, but think it will be a great tool in my quest for eternal youth. Highly recommended.

So my husband and I started working out with a personal trainers and this was one of their instruments of torture...and my husband loved it.He said he loved it so much because it actually ENERGIZED him and he felt so much better after doing it.I, on the other hand, took an entire month before I could let go of the pole next to it because I would fall over...However, after buying one for my husband for Father's Day, I realize that what I was trying to do was keep it completely level, but that isn't the point. Now I know that I don't have to keep it level, I can tip, and dip, and lean over with the best of them. Yesterday, I even did some squats on it while lifting weights and it was awesome.I also learned that the closer your feet are to center the easier it is to balance. I prefer to have my feet out to the edges, where it's more difficult and it engages my core more. Btw, I am a big chick, over 250, so if you are wondering if that is a problem with using it, it's not!Our kids keep stealing it from our bedroom because they like being on it as well. I am going to continue to find ways to use it during my workout.

I don't write too many reviews for amazon anymore because so many of them seem to be to influenced by companies offering discounts for good reviews. That said, I used this immediately upon receiving it and have been very impressed so far. I am 51 yoa and in very good shape. This is great for increasing balance and not difficult at all with just standing on it. I can stand on this easily for 15 min. in front of my TV. Performing exercises on this makes it much more challenging. I have done arm curls with curl bar and wow, that was very challenging. I am struggling to squat down while standing on it to work out my legs more....it wobbles like crazy as I squat down so I am trying to figure out the trick to do it successfully. Overall, this is great and would absolutely recommend for young athletes of any sport, or anyone at all looking for a simple, easy exercise. This is very very well built and will support up to 500lbs. Working out with dumbbells is what I will start doing while balancing on this so I am looking forward for the challenge!!!

I was going back and forth between this and another balance board & was hesitant because this one was about $130 more than the other. Well, happy to report that my money was well spent! Definitely helps with balance & the ability to use it for additional workouts makes it that much better than the other options. My balance has improved significantly in an unbelievably short amount of time (mainly noticed in my tree pose & other yoga poses) & in less than a week, my squats on the Strong Board have gotten much better. My son and husband both love it as well (husband for curls and push ups & my little guy just likes to wiggle on it!) Overall, well the price for the quality of the product. My initial plan was to get another board later, but that would be totally unnecessary. I'm hooked!!!Side note: Be careful getting on and off; my husband took a tumble the first time he tried to get on it. The directions tell you how to get on and off safely; you'll be tempted to hop right on, but if it's your first time, giving the directions a once over won't hurt.
