What can I say, I'm on my 8th kindle. I love the kindle. I take it to appointments because sometimes you have to sit and wait, i.e. getting your oil changed, doctors or dentist appointments, beauty shop, etc. The newer one, above, sits in its thin charging cradle. It's thinner than a book, and instead of paying $7 or more for a book, I can get them for .99 cents, $1.99 or less than $5. There are thousand books to chose from at my finger tip any category, and I can do it from my couch. If there are 7 books in a series, I might only spend about $14 for all 7. I read about 7 hours a day.

Convenient size and faster than my old waterproof kindle. Buying from the kindle store is much improved and the download is super speedy. USB-C connection is great. I still prefer to search on my phone because it’s easier to compare books by the same author but different publishers (only books that are public domain). Sometimes I see a book on my phone search that I didn’t on my Kindle search (again public domain). Easy to customize fonts for personalized legibility. The case is easy to get on and it quickly charges on the stand with the case on. I purchased the greyscale version so because of negative reviews on the color model. Very satisfied with this model.

I love my kindle. I have noticed that things don't happen exactly as they did on my previous Paperwhite. I find I have to press the screen sometimes several times to have my expected action to take effect. I was used to the brighter screen of the previous paperwhite but I am trying to adjust to the better way to conserve battery by a less bright screen. not sure I would say this paperwhite is easier to use. I find it more cumbersome to Find my next read from my library of books. Its fine, as long as I wish to read "next in series" but if I am looking for a change of pace, a different author that I follow, its a search by author, then have to figure out what the next book in series is. I miss the collection of previous paperwhite. But with my upgrade, at least this one will connect with WiFi, and it doesn't have to be charged every day for my reading. I LOVE the stand that charges! It charges Fast, and I do love that it will connect to internet (my previous Kindle had forgotten how to keep the time, connect to anything anywhere but home. I selected the black folder to match my black kindle, not particularly liking the raspberry or the green but I like my basic color

I own and regularly use both the 11th- and 12th-generation Kindles, and I have thoroughly enjoyed both. There aren't any dramatic differences in functionality between the two devices, but the 12th generation is noticeably faster and feels more responsive. Recent software updates have also improved the overall experience on both. The larger display on the 12th generation is immediately noticeable and makes reading even more enjoyable without making the device feel bulky. The wireless charging dock is convenient, and the plant-based leather cover has really grown on me. It has become my favorite Kindle cover to date. For anyone who loves to read, it is hard to go wrong with a Kindle. I regularly borrow eBooks from my local library that are delivered directly to my Kindle, and my reading progress, highlights, and notes sync seamlessly across both Kindles, my Mac, and my iPad. One feature that doesn't get enough attention is Amazon's separate Send to Kindle app. I regularly drag and drop PDFs, research papers, articles, notes, and other documents into it, and within moments they are available across my Kindle devices and Kindle reading apps. It is an incredibly simple way to build a personal library that extends well beyond books purchased from Amazon. I also use the Kindle reading app on my Mac and iPad almost every day alongside my Kindle devices. When I'm reading medieval and ancient history, I frequently encounter unfamiliar people, places, and names from many different languages. The app lets me instantly hear correct pronunciations, look up Wikipedia articles, consult dictionaries, highlight passages, and take notes without interrupting my reading. These tools have helped me better understand what I am reading and have transformed the Kindle from a simple e-reader into an outstanding learning and research companion. It is easy to think of a Kindle as only a device for reading books, but it can do so much more. I rarely leave home without one.

I am used to the Oasis and prefer that unit because I do not have to touch the screen to move the pages (buttons), and I can rotate the orientation so I can hold the Kindle in either hand. I cannot do this with the newer Kindle. The screen is good, and it is a little faster than the Oasis re turning pages, but for me the disadvantages outweigh the advantages for this new Kindle. But if you don't have the Oasis, this new Kindle might make you happy.
