CLC Custom Leathercraft 1509 Zippered Professional Electricians Tool Pouch, 21 Pocket , Black

I bought this bag to replace my toolbag that was involuntarily relieved of and I have to say that sometimes bad things can lead to good things with this bag being a great purchase. I do a telecomm work and needed a bag that was lightweight, able to properly close as I climb a lot of ladders and would hate for a tool to fall, and big enough to fit a variety of tools. This bag does all of this well along with having good build quality for the price. While some of the materials used are on the cheaper side, I can confidently say that the important stuff like the zipper and shoulder strap are well made and will last. I probably put around 20 hours of strain on this bag a week for a work and it has held up well so far with little sights of wear. As far as the design goes, this tool bag with well thought-out with many quality of life features like a piece of Velcro to keep the bag open, a hammer loop, and a few small pockets for small accessories. The big pocket can fit a small case of fittings and other small necessities that you may have without comparising too much on space. One con I do have with this bag is the lack of padding on the shoulder strap which sometimes can become fatiguing after a while. The holsters take a while to break in as well and it might be annoying to get some of your screwdrivers in at first but everything will eventually loosen up. Overall this is a great bag for $50. I highly recommend this product for anyone who needs something lightweight toolbag that can fit a decent amount of tools.

Great value for the money. It's very well made, has sturdy, non-flimsy pockets, and should last forever. Also, I like the security of having a very large 'pouch' that closes. This is the third CLC product I've purchased over the years. The quality of each has been excellent -- you can be rough on them and they last.

Great bag, good material, I do HVAC Maintenance and this bag is perfect for all the tools I need to do a maintenance job. Very happy with it.

EDIT 1/5/17 - After a fair amount of usage since purchase on 11/17/16 I've got a couple of updates; since the work I do doesn't normally require a hammer I used a Dremel tool to remove the hammer loop. I left the four rivets in place and simply cut off the loop at the thinnest part of the metal. I have found a number of times I needed a tape measure and the 1509 model doesn't have a tape measure clip. I found an old keyring and placed it on the belt clip of a 25' tape measure. Now I can attach the tape measure to the 1509 by utilizing the built in key holder. The LeatherCraft hasn't softened up much after a month of constant use - the material and partitions are still a bit too stiff. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'll be using the LeatherCraft 1509 as an on-the-move computer network cabling resource. The bag itself is quite stiff - "hopefully" as it wears some of the stiffness will work out. Some of the pockets get in the way of others and trying to push the unused pockets flat is an exercise in futility. I'm tempted to razor blade the offending bits and pieces of material out of the way, but don't want to alter it until I''m satisfied that I've got everything squared away. The "cell phone" holder is pretty much relegated to a flip-style phone; at least my Samsung Core Prime won't fit. I took a small prescription bottle and filled it with RJ45 cable ends and put it in the cell phone pocket. The bag strap extended enough for me (5' 9") to wear "bandoleer style" which allows both hands to be free while preventing the bag from sliding off of ones shoulder. The hardest item to fit (see the list below) was the headlamp; the bag is designed around pliers, screwdrivers, etc. and a bulky item like a headlamp is tough to match. I managed to push some of the unused pockets aside and fit the headlamp in; as noted the pockets are very stiff. (EDIT: 1/5/17 I gave up trying to keep the headlamp in the bag - it simply got in the way too often). In one small pocket I placed a Cat5 cable stripper but the pocket runs too deep to easily retrieve the tool. I solved that by adding a lanyard to the tool and now a slight tug on the lanyard removes the tool from the bag. One note of interest - when the zippered top is unzipped and Velcro'ed to the bottom of the case, if I leave a little room (say 1 inch) open on the Velcro'ed strap then the cover acts as a 'leg' and the bag will stay upright on the floor. Once the cover is zipped backk up, however, the bag simply falls over. (EDIT 1/5/17 - After adding the tape measure (see above) to the key chain holder I found that the bag would stay upright when zippered close because the tape measure acts as a support leg.) For my purposes - crawling around in tight spaces trying to run or repair cables or build a quick patch cable without hauling out the large tool kit - I think the LeatherCraft 1509 will fill the bill. I just wish they had made it out of something less stiff, and left out a few of the pockets so as to allow room for bulkier items. I've stocked it with a minimal set of tools and parts (edited 1/5/17 to show what has really been used in a month long cabling job): 1 Memo book (in zippered compartment under cover) 1 Phillips/Straight bladed precision screwdriver ( inside in screwdriver holder) 1 "6-in-1" type bit driver (inside pocket) 48 Medium and 48 Small "zip" ties (bundled into two internal screwdriver holder) 2 Wooden pencils (in inside screwdriver holder with "zip" ties) 1 RJ45 crimper in (inside pocket) 1 Side cutters pliers (inside pocket) 48 RJ45 connectors (24 in inside pocket, 24 in cellphone pocket using plastic prescription bottles) 1 Fluke Pro 200 Network toner and probe (in 2 inside pockets) 1 Cat5 cable stripper 1 Electrician's tape on external tape holder 1 Tape measure on external key ring holder 1 Box of staples (inside pocket) 1 Cat5 staple gun (in the zippered compartment that is on the back of the bag). I've not noticed any wear after 1 month of carrying the staple gun in the zippered compartment. YMMV. HTH Regards, Jim

ok so no review i have read about on this particular tool bag has done its justice this bag is an amazing work of art so far every thing you have read or saw shows a distorted view of this bag for instance in the picture it shows a OLD meter vice gripps???? is this a joke ... what looks to be some no name brand plier handles and dosent look like this bag has many pockets or if it does thay are either too small or some are too big or that you can fit any more tools than pictured i can tell you that this bag will fit and be able to zip up and close journey man series kleins (side cutters) needle nose dykes wire strippers 11 in 1 conduit reamer razor knife ''beater'' screw driver philips flat head screwdrivers roto split (on and out side pocket) number books 1/2 9/16 3/8 3/4 wrenches a meter (if you want) a a set of 1/4 5 16/ 3/8 7/16 1/2 nut setters for your drill 2 pair of chanel locks 2 fairly long levels lock out tag outs key hole saw hammer if you want( i use my kleins ) and still has spare pockets for misc things like hole saws pilot bits or control screw drivers on the back of this bag is a soft padded mesh that is very comfortable and above that just under the belt loops is a hidden zipperd pocket thats is great for an uglys book your wallet and your keys at it has a cell phone pocket on the outside with elastic strechy material to secure it in place and velcro atached to that flap that will velcro to the botom of the bag to keep the flap out of your way when its not zipped up also these is no mesh webbing on the flap of this bag ( even tho the picture shows there is )wich worked well for me cuz i keep my lock out tag outs and lock in there and thats one of those things some people dont have and they are always asking to borrow so now i have a hiding spot for stuff like and i can lie to them and say i dont have 1 basicy this bag will hold and efectivly organize more tools than your back and leg muscles can handle the shoulder strap is a nice touch help even out some of the weight i would recomend just carying the tools you need for 1 task at a time 5 stars for an awsome tool bag

Great service bag. Size is just right and works as good as you expect it would. The only thing I don't like is the top flap that folds down with the zipper pouch. The pouch is so deep and tight, it's hard to dig stuff out of it. Good price for what it is
