High Quality Oil Pastels.
I thought that I hated oil pastels. After seeing a video about this set, I decided to give them another try. The quality does make a difference. Not only are the size of the oi pastels thicker, but the colors are more vibrant than my cheaper set making them fun to use. The thickness of the pastels allow for better blending and layering colors. I would recommend this set.

An amazing foray into Sennelier’s oil pastels
This is a great way to try Senneliers oil pastels. You can mix these colours and create more of them. I like using walnut oil and a brush to thin them out and use them like a paint medium. They are soft, pigmented and high quality. Easy to use and blend.

A luxury set of oil pastels. You're paying for quality not quantity.
These are the most high quality oil pastels I've ever used. The creaminess and rich pigmentation of colors are high in class. I used these oil pastels to do a portrait of my great Grandmother. The colors are that of pink flesh tones with a couple of reddish rich browns. There are also three cool blues, along with a bright, yet soft, yellow color and some muted blue-greys/purple and tan browns. The packaging is satisfying and smells like something fresh from the art store. The cons I find in this, is that you'll be paying for quality not quantity. These pastels are very soft. I would say you can crush them with a firm squeeze and the warmth of your hand from use. If you apply a lot of pressure or draw on a big surface, you'll probably need to restock soon because they will turn into nubs, fast. The other con I have is that I wish there were more colors of brown flesh tones in this set, because this set is for portraits. Other than that they are a luxury set of oil pastels to have.

Best I've ever used...by FAR!
These are like BUTTER, so creamy and smooth... I know it's a cliche, but I don't know how else to describe these oil pastels. I like to dabble in different mediums, and have only really used the soft pastels or Pan Pastels. I could never figure out why I couldn't get the hang of oil pastels until now...they were too cheap! I don't mean just price, I mean cheaply made, too hard, not enough pigment...but I recently saw work done by an artist who uses these pastels exclusively and was blown away! They are so soft and creamy they blend like a dream. I got the 24 count portrait set, which is PERFECT because it has many skin colors as well as pinks, lavenders; plus sepia, black, multiple reds, blues...this is the perfect set if you draw people but also need some regular colors. I could not have been happier when I opened the box and began to swatch them out...again, I've tried many brands, varying in price, and these exceed every single one. And 24 colors in the portrait set for $46?? SO well worth it, I couldn't recommend them more. If you are interested in using any kind of pastel in your artwork, I've found it's much smarter to buy the best brand you can afford. I could've saved money if I hadn't tried 2 or 3 cheaper brands first, and THEN gotten these! They were made for Picasso! How could they be bad??
