The CITR In-Tank Refugiums are "safe houses" that provide a protected area to help newly added fish or invertebrates easily acclimate to a new tank while also providing a place for injured fish or corals to regenerate damaged tissue without the need for a separate quarantine tank. The CITRs also function as a culturing area for small organisms that are intended to be provided as a food source for the inhabitants of the main portion of the tank. The versatility and easy use of the CITRs make them a valuable addition to every aquarist's tank Review: Great little tank - great little tank, I keep mine in the sump and house very large brittle worms. I use a plastic screen door mesh for a lid that is rubber band in place to keep worms getting out The suction cups are very good on this model. They are attached where as the older moldel has suction cups that com off very easily. The one I received was an upgraded product and very nice Review: Good construction and - It's working well for me on my 90 gallon reef tank. I have it in the corner of the main display, it isn't pretty, but it's helped my Blue Mandarin put on weight after our wrasse trio picked the rocks clean of anything pod-like. The (restocked) pods and chaeto seem to be enjoying the safe haven and the acrylic construction is very solid, I think I could probably stand on it without a problem...not that I'm going to try. An unexpected benefit is that it is kinda fun to watch the fish in the tank (especially the wrasse) watch the pods in the refugium like they have an aquarium of their own. :) The only problems I've had is that the pump intake gets clogged with debris sometimes, admittedly normal pump maintenance on a reef tank. One thing I learned the hard way is to point the intake down so coraline doesn't encrust it. More annoying are the suction cups which have let go a couple of times. It hasn't been catastrophic because the box is pretty much resting on rocks but I'll probably invest in some magnetic suction cups just to make sure the wrasse don't get in.

Not as small as you think it is
Great for growing cheato mini fuge in tank or holding for new tank mates Iโve had great use so far I thought the small would be smaller but itโs bigger than I thought
