By the way, NELL HILL was Carol's grandmother (Carol's inspiration) . This book is not an HOW TO Book but mostly an idea book and it shows how to decorate in a "romantic ,though modern, way". This romantic-style of decorating may not be for everybody, especially those that prefer a more "MASCULINE TOUCH". But for me....I just love it! The photos are enchanting. I love this decorating book. Mary Carol has me in mind when she writes her books. I love all of them!! They are all interesting reading. I have everyone of them now.

This is a book well worth buying if your decorating style is country, cottage or tradtional. Full of great ideas for making your home welcoming for every day or fanatastic for entertaining. Mary Garrity not only has wonderful photos to give you inspiration but she also has tips on how to get the look you want.

Great ideas and inspiration
i have recently been introduced to Mary Carol Garrity from our local newspaper. Saturday's paper has a House To Home section that has frequently featured an article by her. I have looked at her books on Amazon and have purchased two of Mary Carol's books for idea's and inspiration and even though they are a few years old I have received just that!!!

decorating secrets revealed
I chose this book based on previous purchases of Mary Carol Garritys Christmas books. Her descriptions, intructions and reasons for design are very clear in this book. I also especialy admire the pictures that show exactly how the decor should look.
