Would be useful in several applications.
I used this as a base for an outdoor thermostat to keep it off the brick of the building. Very hard wood and it worked well.

BASSWOOD: CARVING FISHING LURES
Zero 0️⃣ experience with Basswood and carving but decided to try my hand at a wooden fishing 🐟lure made of this Basswood and created with only using the VICTORINOX TINKER shown in the photos. The wood 🪵 is of excellent quality, perfect sizing for my project, and for about $8 💰 it represents a good value. Note to novices: pick a block that is closest in size to your ultimate goal and Basswood is much more difficult to carve with a folding knife than I expected. Might have to break out the DREMEL for the finishing touches. This is a premium product and will update the review after painting the lure and it is ready to fish 🐟. Hope this review helps! Update: 1st basswood lure complete and 2nd in production. Hope this inspires you to give a project a shot. ☮️ 🎣

Great set. the wood is nice, no knots. However they are not smooth to the touch. Perfect for beginner whittlers.

Tiny
These are hella tiny

A bit hard to saw through but worked out well
I thought these were going to be a little bit easier to cut that was just for a little decoration in the corner of my vaulted ceilings. But they were extremely hard. My fault I searched for balsa wood and did not realize that it came up as basswood. Oh well, I got them cut they look beautiful and it was too much more work.
