Classic and casual, excellent everyday watch
The Citizen Men’s Eco-Drive Weekender has been an excellent everyday watch for me. The design hits a great balance between classic and casual, making it easy to wear with just about anything. It looks just as good with jeans and a T-shirt as it does with a more put-together outfit. The dial is clean and easy to read, and the overall size feels just right on the wrist without being bulky. Build quality is solid and confidence-inspiring. It feels well made, keeps accurate time, and has held up well to daily wear. One of the best features is Eco-Drive — it runs on light, so there’s no battery to replace, which makes it very low maintenance. As long as it gets regular light exposure, it just keeps running. The strap is comfortable for all-day wear, and the watch never feels heavy or awkward. It’s the kind of watch you can put on and forget about, which is exactly what I want from an everyday piece. Reliable, versatile, and thoughtfully designed, this is a great option from Citizen if you’re looking for a dependable daily watch that doesn’t try too hard.

Daytona Vibes
Eco drive Weekender Brycen is a great watch. Very accurate, handsome, large cream color dial with nicely legible indicators and markings. The lume on the hands is bright and lasts a decently long time, being visible in darkness for several hours. While it would have been nice to get some lume on the dial makings as well, the hands alone get the job of simply telling time in low light done. The chronograph is mechanical quarts movement caliber no. B612, a main second hand chrono accurate to 1/5 of a second. (Which means there are five micro ticks of the second hand per second, giving more of a sweep feel.) Non perpetual calendar, so you will need to set the date on the first of the month a few times a year. Subdials include 24hour(am/pm) indicator, dedicated chrono minute dial up to 60 minutes, and a second hand for the main time. (The large main second hand will not run unless the chronograph is activated which I believe is leading some people to believe this watch is arriving broken) Solar powered by citizens Eco drive technology so there is no need to worry about battery changes for a decade or more. Solar power also means that the power hungry chronograph can be run at will without worry of consuming battery life. the case features a two position knurled non screw down crown for adjusting date/time. Crown turns nicely and seats into all three positions well with no slipping or sticking. Case also boasts two oversized flat top stopwatch style buttons for activating and resetting the chronograph. The buttons have an excellent click feel upon pressing to activate and to reset. Interesting to note that the buttons will only click upon the first press since the last press of the opposing button. So for example from rest, the button presses go like this: Activate/click... Pause/no click... Reset/click... Repeat. The black bezel is a non spinning tachymeter scale with attractive silver scale numbering in a sporty racing inspired font. The crystal is a hardlex instead of a sapphire which is ok, but sapphire would have been a wise call with a watch face of this size. The brown leather rally style strap arrives stiff but breaks in nicely in a short period of time, becoming soft and comfy and really brings the vintage racing chrono look all together. All in all this is a good quality watch with excellent features and aesthetic. Id give it a 4.999 only because the crystal is not sapphire. I like this watch so much that I will also be buying the black dial version in short order.

Nice Everyday Watch
I was interested in this watch a few years ago when it was a lot less pricey but I didn't get it. Wish I did. Even at the sale price I picked it for it's still costs a lot more. I wanted a eco-drive watch because I'm a huge fan of the Casio solar watches. This watch looks better then most Casios of this style. The face is simple with stamped numbers and pins. Easy to read the cream dial although in low light the white hands can be difficult to read. The hands are the only part that glows. Buttons seem to be of good quality. The band was instantly removed and I installed a Barton silicone band (black with orange trim). The leather band did not have quick release pins so it was in a pain getting off. The Barton is WAY more comfortable. Good size stainless steel case. Not huge by any standard but not small like many dress watches. Keeps good time although not atomic. Outer rim is a tachymeter which is easy to use since the large second hand belongs to the stopwatch. Of course it requires math so if you're unaware of how it works there are tutorials online. Comes is a decent gift box. Highly recommended if you can get on sale.

Great watch this is my sixth citizen Eco Drive. They are high-quality.
Is it an amazing watch? I love citizens quality the Eco Drive only problem with this watch the date is pretty much nonexistent. You have to have it at the right angle to see it. I bought it more for the style of the date so not a problem for me The watch is beautiful.

Another great Citizen Eco-Drive. You'll love it.
This is a great watch. Super accurate, dependable, nice dial, looks fantastic. Can wear with jeans and T-shirt or dress it up. Strap comfortable. The stated 49mm case diameter under specifications is NOT accurate. It measures 44mm diameter with a lug-to-lug dimension of 52mm. Easy to read. I wish the orange hand was for seconds instead of the chronometer. Not a big fan of the small seconds dial, but it's not a show stopper. Once again the Eco-Drive is a big win; no batteries required, nor the winding or necessary movement / light movements that Automatic watches require. I'd buy it again for sure. Very cool watch in person. One star off for a tiny date window.

Very Good Timepiece
Very happy with my purchase. Keeps excellent time and pretty comfortable after the band gets broken in. A good deal for the price from a quality company.

Sadly Underwhelmed but I Kept It Anyway
UPDATE 12/28/2025: Rufus and the documentation for this watch indicate that this watch has a 26mm strap width, which is NOT TRUE. The actual strap width is 24mm. I found this out when the 26mm strap I ordered was too wide to fit the watch. Fortunately, I had a 24mm strap from my days as a Vine reviewer which is much more comfortable than the strap that came with the watch. ================= I've had my eye on this watch for months and took the plunge when it went on sale during Black Friday. I own two other Citizens that I'm completely satisfied with, and I love the looks of this one. Despite the mineral (not sapphire) crystal, I had little doubt I'd find it a great value at the sale price of $219 USD. While it does indeed look great, I seriously thought about returning it for the following reasons: - Date window is WAY too small. Even with a magnifying glass, I can barely see the date. They needed to put a cyclops on the lens or exclude the date complication altogether, which would have been my preference. Be forewarned you'll need the eyes of a hawk to see the date on this watch. - Strap is abysmally sub-par for the price. Seriously, I own Casios and even Vostoks with better straps. It has the flexibility of gristle, a cheap, sinewy feel, and does not include quick release spring bars. I've got a third-party strap on the way and hope I can replace it without running into any issues. - Chronograph pushers are a joke. No tactile feedback whatsoever and it's easy to start and stop the chronograph just by flexing my hand toward the watch when I have it on wrist. This is the real deal-killer for me. In short, it's difficult to justify spending $200+ on a watch with the quality of a $50 throwaway. I'll never use the chrono for any serious purpose, though, and despite its flaws, I really do love the look. I'm keeping it but strongly recommend avoiding this pup unless you can grab it at a substantial discount and live with its deficiencies.
