I got this for my son for his birthday and I have to say this is a very lovely star projector! You can add different colors for different effects, there are so many options for this thing and I feel like the more you customize the lights the more beautiful it becomes. We use it as a night light for my son, and he absolutely loves it just as much as we do. It’s easy to use the app to change the settings, the lights are bright and very colorful and bold. You can customize the dimness or brightness. It seems like a pretty sturdy machine, it has a nice base so it doesn’t fall over easily as well. We got it on sale so we didn’t pay full price, but I absolutely would pay full price for this it’s worth every penny spent. Try it if you’re reading this! You can’t go wrong!

I purchased this product for a Christmas present for my son, but my partner wanted it more. We didn't actually open it and set it up until a month after the holiday. The Aurora lights are AMAZING, with stars and accompanying sounds. We did have a small issue with a few of the light settings, that had a notable glitch and would flash at high speed. We contacted Govee and they responded immediately with instructions on how to reset to the factory defaults. Unfortunately, that did not fix our problem, so we reached back out to the company, who again, responded almost instantly with some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. They immediately sent us a replacement, which is working perfectly! My partner LOVES this projector and falls asleep to it every night. The colors are beautiful, the movement of the lights is really soothing and it has been a really lovely addition to our bedtime routine. I highly recommend this product, not just for the wonderfulness of the product, but also for the absolutely stellar and fantastic customer service! You will not regret this purchase ~ it is all that is says and more...including a wonderful company backing up their fabulous products!

Honestly works fantastic, colors are bright and easy to see, the animations are smooth and flow like water. It is incredibly relaxing. I didn't care about the sound feature at all, the sound quality is about what you'd expect from a small cheap speaker embedded in the plastic shell. Does it work? Yes. Is the sound clear? Mmm yeah, but it still sounds like a cheap crappy speaker. Simple solution, get your sound out of a real speaker, this isn't a sound device. Apparently people got bad models or have very sensitive hearing in regard to the motors, Govee even sent me a email right after it was delivered explaining how they measured the sound etc. I cannot hear it, the thing is dead silent. Maybe I got a revised version, but I can't hear anything from it even if I try. Govee app has all the features and options you would expect from their products and you can do all sorts of customizing and scene creation in the app. Overall, if you are looking for the light function, espically if you already have Govee products, this is a great product.

Purchased 3 of these. It's easy to use and the quality/brightness is great. There's a buy-in to use the app to control the light settings which is a bit of a bummer but it applies to all sorts of lighting fixtures, not just this one in particular. The first one I bought has been running fine, but the second one now has a strange issue where every few seconds the light intermittently goes out for a very brief half second. The third one had Wi-Fi issues right out of the box and I had to return it. Even with my phone right next to it, it could not connect, so unless you want the default light effect, you're SOL if you get one with a faulty Wi-Fi chip. In hindsight I would have much preferred to spend $20 extra for a higher quality model. One big plus is that its virtually quiet as a shadow.

I looked at the reviews of several of these lights. I was convinced to buy this one when it went on sale, because it had some features others didn’t, like adjustable star lights and a tilting mount to allow for directing the lights where you want. The light pattern is beautiful and mesmerizing. I have it near my bed aimed at the ceiling. It’s nice for winding down. For those who read reviews closely, I wanted to chime in on drawbacks that others said. 1) It seems silly to say that the light pattern moves too quickly or that the light isn’t bright enough, because downloading the app allows you to change the relative brightness and speed of movement for both the stars and the aurora individually as well as the overall brightness. When I first turned it on, I thought the movement and light level were perfect, but that’s a matter of taste. 2) The “loud” whirring sound is really not that loud. You would have to prefer absolute silence (which is usually impossible to achieve) for this to be loud. It’s noticeable, but seemed very light compared to what some of the reviews suggested. Some drawbacks: 1) it’s original price of about $80 seemed too much to me, especially since it didn’t have its own power block. But for the quality and variety of options, the sale price of $55 is worth it to me. And I happened to have a pack of USB power blocks I already bought that worked great. 2) If you’re interested in the white noise selection, personally I only like one of them. Some of this is taste. I don’t prefer bird sounds as white noise or wind chimes. But the kinds I do usually like (wind, water) were not good sound quality. The one titled “drizzle” is the only one I’d probably use and maybe one of the soothing music sounds. 3) It would be nice if the stars covered more of the overall pattern and weren’t so compact. However, I do really like that the stars move, and the app control is really easy and a nice feature, especially since I plan to use this as I am laying in bed before sleep. It basically makes your phone a remote control. Overall, I’m really happy with this, and I even was thinking of people I wanted to give this to, so long as the sale continues.

I don’t even have sufficient words to describe how much I love this projector. The light quality of the waves is amazing and sooooo pretty. The stars are great as well! You can customize the brightness of the waves and the stars independently of one another, and you can customize the color of the waves (but not the stars, because they are made by a green laser). You can make the stars twinkle and/or move around as well. The coverage area is very generous too. Just a beautiful product all around. I love to just look up and stare at my ceiling now at night. It’s so tranquil.

The Govee Star Light Projector came packaged neatly and didn’t take up much space, which I appreciated—it was easy to unbox and set up. I liked that it works with Alexa, Google, and even Matter, so connecting it to my smart home was smooth. The projector itself is small and sleek, and the three aurora flowing effects looked pretty neat when I first turned them on. They had a soft, dreamy motion, kind of like slow-moving ribbons of light, which could be cool for relaxing or setting a mood in the room. But here’s the issue: I have an all matte black ceiling and walls, and the effects just didn’t show up well. The dark, non-reflective surfaces absorbed most of the light instead of bouncing it back, so the aurora flows looked faint and kind of washed out. It was like watching shadows instead of glowing lights. I tried adjusting the angle and brightness, but it didn’t help much. The projector needs lighter or more reflective surfaces to really shine, and since my room is designed for a minimalist, dark aesthetic, the light effects ended up feeling underwhelming and hard to see. So while the tech and smart features are solid, this projector just didn’t work for my specific setup. If you have light-colored or glossy walls and ceiling, you’ll probably get a much better experience. But if your room is all dark and matte, like mine, you might end up disappointed. It’s a cool gadget—just not one that fits every kind of space.

This is my favourite smart light in my home right now. We have a vast Govee collection and this light is spectacular. It does have a motor noise, but you can adjust the light settings to reduce it. The light stays on for 4 hours and you can set timers with it in the Govee app which works flawlessly. It's such a pretty light with so many star dots that even the cats love looking at it. Highly recommend.

This light projector is really nice, although I would've wanted the stars to be blue instead of green, but it’s a really nice product overall and definitely the best in the market right now. Too overpriced though

This product is really, really, really good at its job of projecting multicoloured, stunning, and vivid auroras. The stars it projects I don’t use as they are green but they do seem to move around nicely if that’s your thing. As for the noise (or lack thereof). They sent me an email saying that people complained of it but that is only really noticeable when the stars are on. I don’t use the stars so don’t experience the noise. There is plenty of customisation including make your own own auroras. Let me emphasis how beautiful the projection of the Aurora is. Smooth, flowing, vivid, varied. You could just stare at it for hours. As I have. You’ll most likely need a place like a bookshelf to place it as the Aurora projects best next to the ceiling. There’s not much more to say really. Serves its purpose perfectly. Worth the splurge.

This is an amazing projector and so much better than the cheaper ones. We’ve bought the $30 variety in the past, which are fine, but nothing compared to this one. The effects are just so much better and there are endless options plus the ability to customize. It can also be synced to your music for a coordinated light show. I’m always impressed with Govee products and this one does not disappoint. Worth every penny.
