Brilliant product. - Was dubious at spending the money on this BUT it is honestly a brilliant item! Diabetic for over 20 and finally a pain free way to get blood for testing! The ability to move test sites is a life saver (my fingertips are very grateful!). I’ve been using it for a few days now and have no complaints at all. Delivery arrived earlier than expected, and the item comes with all information and kit you will need including a pouch to hold your meter, strips, needles and the device. A lovely touch is the addition of a sticker booklet which will be great if ordered for children. Review: Lancet - Great product and very easy to use . I use this on my diabetic dog with no distress to her .

What’s in the box ?
What’s in the box. Got a pouch, genteel device, some contact tips various colours for different depth and some stickers plus instructions on how to use it. No lancets ( not even one to get you started ) included, so won’t be using it yet. Disappointed can’t try it till I get some lancets .

Genteel lancing device
easy to set up. find the plunger a bit hard to push in. testing didn't hurt as much as other lancers and finger not sore afterwards. Geenteel lancets not available on NHS

Eccezionale
Pungidito fenomenale!

Worth the price! Great customer Service.
I love this lancing device! I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and even if I only use it for a few months it was worth every penny! I am very picky and I always test four times per day to ensure I am within range. I used the lancer my meeter came with for about two weeks before I realised that my fingers were going to get very sore. I could tell which finger I pricked sometimes hours after. I did some research and chose the Genteel. I almost didn't because of the price but I am glad I did. It takes a little practice to get used to it but once I learned what color tip to use, how to hold my finger over the button and release it so the blood didn't smear, it is down right amazing. It pricks so fast I don't feel any pain like I did with the lancer my meeter came with. I can't tell which finger was pricked. I read that some people did not like the sound it makes. It really is not that bad! I don't even notice the sound anymore. If it really bothers you try using it without the lance to get used to the sound. If you don't try it because it sounds scary you are missing out! I also read that some people didn't like waiting up to eight seconds for the blood to pool. Eight seconds is nothing compared to fingers that are throbbing! This is espically true now that it's cold out and hands are dry and chapped. Yes, the lancer my meeter came with caused the blood to just be there but it was way too much! My finger would sting when I wiped it off. I will gladly wait eight seconds. It goes by fast and it never really takes mine that long. I like the stickers even though I am an adult! I wouldn't even comment on them except that I think they might help kids who rely on testing to ease some fear. I couldn't help it and I put the unicorn on, however, I was tempted to put the dinosaur scene sticker on. There is a also one with butterfly's and flowers that I could see an adult using. Kids for sure will like them. The stickers are made of a plastic type material and so far has not bent, curled, or worn. I wipe it down with alchole once every few days so I think it's safe to say it's staying put. I like the case it case it came with and the extra Velcro for your meeter. I took one of my used strips tubes and using the Velcro made a small travel "sharps" container. The case fits my meeter, the genteel lancer, the two strips tubes, my meeter book, lances, a pen and alcohol swabs in a fairly compact space. The company has great customer service. I had the device for about a month and it slowly started to not engage. Every time I tried to push the plunger down it wouldn't stay. I emailed the company, got an immediate reply, they helped me troubleshoot the problem, and sent me a new part. The few days I had to use my old device again reminded me just how much I love the Genteel lancer! I highly recommend this product! I also recommend going on YouTube and watching the tutorials for how to use it. I would buy the Genteel lancer again.

Tried on two, hurt him but not me
I freaking love this thing, because it doesn't hurt me at all. I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and it basically turned my life upside down for a bit. Especially all the pain. I have 0% pain tolerance, so all the finger pricking (at least 5 times per day) was TOO MUCH for me to handle. I was miserable.. My finger pricks would still hurt for at least 4 days afterwards, not joking. I tried the freestle Libre CGM device but those are crazy expensive for both the sensor and the patches (my insurance won't cover them), plus my patch fell off after 3 days so I was seriously upset. I am not spending over 200$ per month just to have pain free glucose monitoring. I tried this pen today, out of desperation. I was so scared it took me a while to actually press the button.. But after I did it the first time, I realized I was going to be okay. It did not hurt. It felt about how I would feel if someone flicked me on the arm with the back of their finger. I watched the instructions like 4 times before doing it because they are not direct enough for me to understand easily. I had to try ALL of the color tips because I was not getting enough blood at all. Then I realized, the problem was that I was NOT holding down the button for enough time. I was just pressing the button, feeling it activate (prick), and then immediately letting it go. You have to hold the button for a few seconds because the suction is what draws blood up to the surface after the prick. Once I figured that out, I started getting a decent sized blood sample. The first two color rings are too small for me, they gave no blood. I was using the pen on my wrist area. One very important thing to note, I used this pen on myself, and then on my fiancé. I used the pen in the exact same spots on our bodies, but he says the prick felt like being quickly stabbed with a thumb tack. That was not my experience at all. I felt literally no pain. So.. I am not sure why there was such a difference between the pain levels. He has less BMI than myself so maybe this is a factor?

Virtually Pain Free
I have a terrible time with taking a blood drop. My fingers are sensitive, and were sore from repeated pricks. I tried things like using the back of my finger or the fatty pad of my hand. It was still sore. I also have a real aversion to blood, making things even worse. I was a little skeptical after reading the reviews. I noticed that others said it was over priced, needed cleaned, difficult to use, still felt pain. I agree that this product is overpriced for what it is. However, if you are like me and DREAD taking a blood drop, you might want to fork over the money. It is a little tricky to use until you get the hang of it. I've had the best luck using my hand, versus my fingers. When I check different locations to make sure it's accurate, the fatty palm of my hand is closest to my fingers. At first I kept getting 'splatters' until I realized the trick was to use a smaller suction tip (they have different sizes in the package), and press hard. I keep my palm down and slowly release after 15 seconds. Viola! A nice little blood drop. You sometimes feel a little prick but usually all I can feel is a bump. The best part is that my hand is not sore afterwards. This might not work for everyone. But, if your fear of pain & lancets has you avoiding checking your BG, then this may be a good option.
