Is this ok to use for rabbit food

Rabbits dont need constant dry food, only 15-20% of their diet, 5-10% veg rest should be hay, this would over feed them

Is this suitable for a rat cage?

It is pretty big for that I'd say, depends on how big your rat cage is but I have gerbils and no way this would fit into their cage. I use it for my cats... :)

Is the plastic sturdy? My cat has a tendancy to bite and punched a hole in the last one which was like a plastic pop bottle

It’s thicker rigid plastic than a pop bottle. I can’t see that it would be easy to puncture.
