I bought this set knowing that I used to love fishing as a teenager, and hoping to get back into it. It took me several months, but after I finally starting using them, caught many small bass and perch. I am starting to replace these now, with better, but I'm extremely happy with the purchase. The good: these are extremely versatile, easy to carry, can be put in a car/seat/bucket, and the reels are OK considering the price point. Probably after your tenth use (on the reel), you'll start to notice a wiggle, but if you're fishing that much, you already got your $12 out of it. ($50/4 pieces=$12.50) I only have three complaints, and considering the money, it didn't knock down the stars. One, the top extension wouldn't collapse after several uses. Two, the rod is not as responsive as a solid piece rod. Don't count on the tackle being good for anything. I really wasn't expecting this, but maybe some are. If your looking for a gift for someone whose beginning, looking to see if you still like fishing, want to have some cheap sets on hand for friends/family that don't fish a lot or maybe as a couple back up rod/reel sets these are great and I highly recommend them.

Beginner fisher here. Never owned my personal fishing equipment. When I visited local fishing stores, owners really pushed to sell expensive gears... so I decided to try this cheap stuff from Amazon first before committing to better gears. It definitely feels flimsy and cheaply made but here are my thoughts: 5/27/2021 My item arrived within 1 day from Amazon delivery. I saw some reviews saying "it looks used" and "it arrived rusted and broken." My item did not look used nor broken. It definitely feels flimsy and cheaply made but I was able to assemble everything without breaking. The size and portability are nice since I bike to the fishing spot. Everything fits into a regular-size backpack. 5/28/2021 First time using. Upon the first 2 castings... both reels made birds nest and tangled pretty badly. This could be my fault for not casting properly or not having a good weight attached to my line. After cutting off the tangled lines and resetting up the reel and rod. From 3rd castings and the rest of the day, it never tangled and seemed to work fine. Maybe the reel needed to break in or the fishing line was not evenly reeled into the spool when I first got it. After coming back home. I disassembled rods and reels to pieces and rinsed everything, dry, oiled, and assembled back successfully without anything breaking. I think oiling will be very important. I can sense the telescoping rod is definitely not going to retract and fold properly if not maintained well. ----- So far so good. Let's see if it still works fine after 2nd use next week.

They were not sturdy. Broke after one day at the lake. The rods are small only thing I liked was that they collapsed so we could store them easily. But just ended up throwing them away.

We don't fish at all. I've basically fished about 8 times in my life and caught maybe 2 or 3 fish. But my kids wanted to try fishing so I got our family this set and 2 other cheap rod and reel combos. Folds up nice and compact with it's own bag with enough room to keep some hooks, bobbers, and lures. I think a better investment than the plastic toy like rod and reel combo, but you still get what you're paying for. Cheap, but gets the job done. Works, but won't last long. Easy purchase if you want to see if the kids want to continue fishing without a big investment. One of the rods broke after the first fishing trip, the telescoping rod basically slid out without stopping. The other rod and reel still works. The line had a tendency to get caught under and inside the reel, but it was an easy fix. The kids (8 and 10) want to continue fishing, so I'll have to get them a more durable rod next time.

I provide transportation to people requiring help getting to medical appointments and was looking for a small fishing rod that I could carry in the back of my car, so I could spend some time fishing when I have “gaps” in my schedule. This kit provides the perfect solution…. Well made, compact and easy to use …. And with the bonus of having a carrying case and lures. Excellent value - I’m delighted.

Update.... so we used the poles once! First trip out one reel broke and the other one survived, but was a tangled mess. They come with fishing line already wound on the reel. You might want to replace it because it may have been part of the problem with the second one and it tangling up each cast. The one that broke became stripped on the handle when you reeled in it stopped working and then completely cracked. The old adage, you get what you pay for holds true here with this set. Initial Review: I’ll be honest and admit we haven’t used the poles yet, but upon unpacking it, The reels appear to be made of a typical cheap plastic. However, two poles, two reels, some lures, and a carrying bag at this price, I think it would be unfair to expect top notch quality. It’ll definitely work for the quarantine to go fish with my boys. I’ll try to write a review after we use them, but I’ll be honest again, I’ll more than likely forget!

I haven’t used these yet but I took them out of the package and for the 30 something dollars I paid for them when I ordered I’m happy. Even if they only last a trip or 2 it was worth it. My kids have never been fishing and might never go again so no point in spending any more money on something they might never do again. If…IF they actually like it and plan to go more than twice I’ll upgrade them. This is a fantastic deal for someone looking to try fishing out for the first time.

Very crappy craftsmanship, one fishing rod broke the first time using it, the plastic eye came off (where the line feeds threw) making it impossible to cast, zero tension on the line, and the rod doesn't like to stay extended.. don't waste your money on these, worst fishing rod I've ever used (40+ years of fishing). Side note, I'm very thankful for Amazon's amazing customer service and refund!

Semble très bien, les enfants sont contents. Nous ne les avons toutefois pas encore essayées.
