Is this ball solid or inflateable?

It is firm but squishy. You do not inflate it. They bounce a little but they are not bouncy like playground balls. It is a great product the kids in my programs use on a daily basis. They can throw them around and at each other without injury.

Is this made out of real elephant skin or a synthetic that is just being referred to as "elephant skin"???????

No, it's not real elephant skin. It's a sprayed on coating that is durable and tough, so they use the elephant skin name to represent those qualities. No elephants were harmed in the manufacture of these balls.

Do these break in and become less slippery?

They have a semi-smooth texture to them. I wouldn’t describe them as slippery. Beside they are soft enough to palm them. They are a good set of balls.
