Premier Locking

Absolutely 100% buy this rack!!!! I love it and can't stop using it. I'm a professional musician and getting into the trunk of my CRV regularly is a must. I got a cheap rack first and honestly dealing with the pins was such a hassle! I quickly got tired of that along with the fact that it came with misaligned holes. This rack is the total opposite! The straps are strong and sturdy, and therefore super safe. It doesn't wobble, the fit is perfect, and it is a highly solid unit. Returned it and decided to just spend the money to get this Allen rack and it is the best money I've ever spent. Now I can confidently take my bike anywhere and it's super convenient and easy to use. Such a breeze with the easy release latch and even EASIER to install and uninstall the rack into the hitch. Love the turnstile locking system with the key. Makes it super easy to remove if you need to! Don't hesitate. Get this now!!

I normally do not write reviews unless a product is exceptional or garbage. This product is exceptional. I got the Premiere Locking 4-Bike for $210 and could not be happier that I did. Assembly was 5 minutes at most. During assembly I thought numerous times this is as sturdy as a bike rack could possibly be yet it was not bulky at all. I tightened and locked it into the hitch in less than 30 seconds and was convinced this sucker wasn't going anywhere. The tilt down feature and the squeeze pins to fold the horizontal rack are engineered perfectly. Completely sturdy and ergonomic at the same time. I drove 200 miles with the rack empty to pick my daughter and her bike up for the summer. I forgot the rack was there. Not a single rattle. I also forgot her 20" mountain bike had the step-through bar so I had to flip it upside down (it was the only bike on the rack) to make the spacing of the mounts work. I was incredibly hesitant that her bike wouldn't stay in place going 75+ mph as well as taking curvy mountain roads. It never moved an inch on the return trip. Full disclosure, I did secure it with 2 additional velcro straps(Super-Stretch Wrap-It Storage Straps, 12") on the mount because I listened to a few bad reviews. I don't think they were needed but they were an additional piece of mind. I also used a bungee to stabilize the front tire to the post of the rack because it was upside down. Her bike did not move even though it was completely awkward and felt off-center. Not a single rattle either. I bought this rack to eventually haul our 3 bikes including my fat tire bike. I have ZERO qualms about this rack handling the other 2 bikes. However, I will be buying the step-through bar rack adapter to negate the upside down bike. In conclusion, I can't imagine there being a better bike rack for the price. It is easy to assemble, sturdy as I could have ever imagined, and intuitive in it's design. I would buy this rack 100 times over.

I was a bit skeptical of Allen bike racks because a bike shop owner told me they were not good products, but after reading the reviews here, I decided to give it a try because it fit my budget. And I have to say, it has worked great. I've only used it twice so far, and I was able to get all three of my family's bikes on the rack. It does take a bit of effort to get women's bikes and childrens bikes on it, but with a little imagination, I got it working. The straps are long enough to wrap around some pretty complicated frame parts. And they are nice and stretchy for added tightness. The lock mechanism is also really great. The rack slides right into the receiver and clicks in place, then you tighten the screw from the rear with the key in place. Once done, you take the key out and your rack is safe and secure. The fold down mechanism is great too and easy. So far, I have had no issues, and this was a great buy!

This rack is a great value, with a lot of good features. The locking mechanism in the hitch is very secure, allowing you to really lock the rack into the hitch so it doesn't rattle and vibrate. It is nice that you can access the lock from the rear, instead of needing a lock for the pin that some bike rack setups or even trailer setups require. The mechanism for lowering the hitch for access to the back of our Grand Cherokee is also nice, very solid and I have no doubt this will hold up with regular use. Unfortunately, this is not a rack that will accommodate four full-size mountain bikes. We can fit two 26" and one 24" bike, or my 29" and my son's 26" bikes due to the width of the handlebars. You might be able to cram four bikes on here if you removed the front wheels so you could turn the handlebars parallel with the frame, but I am not really even sure about that. My younger son's 24" bike BARELY fits on here, and even the 26" bikes are a little tight with the spacing of the two horizontal bars that the bikes sit on. We have to turn the plastic pieces that the frame sits on, so it takes a little patience and problem solving to get the bikes loaded. Having said this, we are overall happy with this purchase. We also bought a bracket that allows us to mount this on the back of our travel trailer, which will alleviate the frustration of trying to get bikes into the trailer's narrow door. The rack is well made and I anticipate having it for a long time.

We compared a lot of similar products and went with this a few months ago. Took a while to arrive, but when it is it came undamaged and with all parts. Had the hitch professionally installed by a mechanic who put it up on a hoist and had the key tools for a tight fit ($80 CAD). the rack is built solid, easy to assemble and install and holds strong. Bikes are super easy to mount and dismount given the rubber strap design. We drove it over 200km on one of our 4 trips with it so far, and had no issues. We used the included additional strap and our bike lock for additional stability. The locking mechanism makes for super convenient trips given you don’t have to worry about someone stealing the rack when left overnight in a hotel parking lot. Folds away smoothly, is light and stylish.

I was looking for a platform style carrier from the major manufacturers and was ready to spend $1000 to $1200 on a unit because I wanted something easy, quick to load/unload and sturdy. Fortunately, due to covid everything was sold out. I always thought that the hanging carriers looked like a pain to set up. I WAS WRONG! I can insert the rack, load 2 adult bikes and 2 kids bikes, run bungee cords through the tires and put on the safety straps in just over 4 minutes. That’s start to finish! The rack is built extremely well and so easy to assemble. So far we have used this rack about 5 times and have travelled anywhere from 20 to 100 km with it on the back. So glad we made this purchase! Thank you Allen sports for making such a great product.

Couldn't recommend more! We carry 3 adult and 1 youth bike with no worries at all. They barely touch, just have to be smart when loading them. It comes with a strap so you can tie them all nicely together so it wont shake and rattle when on the road. Amazing product so far.
