It won’t leak and easy to install

The old heads also always leak eventually. Mine was over 10 years old and I suspected it was mineral deposits. I even tried a little vinegar. Once it was removed, the mineral deposits were very obvious. The new one is easy to install and works great without any leaks. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth it.

I've had the opportunity to try on of these head units out before buying. Shutting off the water is easy, and convenient, right at this filter mount. It came with 2 #10 screws, and were zinc coated. I used Stainless steel for mine, why would you want to chance rusting? Anyhow it took about 5 mins to install it to the cabinet. My recommendation is using brass fitting, with a good pipe dope as sealant. Install the elbows before installing this head unit. I went overboard on my water lines, and used a 3/8" dishwasher 6' line, and a 28" 3/8" faucet line. These are compression nut fittings, that's where the brass works best. The parts for the setup cost me 55.00, not including the filter. I build for longevity, not on the cheap. I hope this helps you out.

This comes bare bones. I pieced together all the parts I needed at Lowe's, but I was in the aisle for like 45 min trying to get the right stuff. You can buy a full kit on line but you'll end up spending like $80 for what ended up being like $7 worth of tubing and fittings. Totally worth the effort if you have the time and patience. Excellent filer. Been using for years and the water is better than any other filter I've ever tried. Can't say enough good about it and I'm a total water snob.

decided top replace the head unit along with a new filter. System was leaking and not sure where. Aftyer installation - I discovered that one of the original plastic fittings had a small crack it it.

This new Everpure filter head was defective and slowly leaked where the two top parts are screwed together. We had two plumber visits costing +$400 to try and solve the leak. Finally I had to buy another filter head and that solved the leakage. Neither the supplier, Fresh Water Systems, nor the manufacturer (per Fresh Water Systems, would reimburse me for the plumber expenses due to the defective part. Both Fresh Water Systems and Everpure have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT!! Avoid both and Amazon was no help either.

Perfect replacement for old unit. No issues at all. No leakage. Used Teflon tape for the existing fittings.
