Exactly what I wanted, a big solid ferro rod that lasts forever.
A lot for the money. A serious fire starter, some para cord, a striker / bottle lifter, and an orange plastic whistle. The handle is solidly attached to the rod. Once you get the coating off the rod it throws a shower of sparks. I wanted a no excuses fire starter for emergency use in any weather. I think this will do, at a good price.

OK Ferro
One of the softest Ferro rods I’ve used, does the job, excellent for practice fire building does require more strikes. At least in my uses.

“Summon Fire Like a Wizard, Impress Friends Like a Caveman”
If you’ve ever dreamed of channeling your inner survivalist while looking ridiculously cool, the HDSSY Fire Starter Survival Tool is exactly what you need. This thing is like carrying a miniature thunderstorm in your pocket—one strike, and bam, instant sparks! The wooden handle? A work of art. It feels like it was hand-carved by an ancient fire god who knew you’d one day need to roast marshmallows in the wilderness. The ferro rod is thick enough to outlast an apocalypse (or at least a week of camping), and the included striker makes you feel like a rugged adventurer, even if you’re just lighting your backyard firepit. The umbrella rope is a nice touch too—because who doesn’t want a fire starter that doubles as a bracelet for your survival chic look? It’s also waterproof, which means you can accidentally drop it in a river while feeling smug about how prepared you are. Be warned, though: this thing sparks big. The first time I struck it, my dog gave me a look that said, “Are you summoning dragons?” Spoiler: I wasn’t, but I totally could have. Conclusion: Whether you’re lighting fires, impressing friends, or auditioning for your local “Survivor” spinoff, this fire starter is the real deal. Highly recommend it—but only if you’re ready to unleash your inner Bear Grylls. Rating: 5/5 Flames 🔥

Awesome, especially for the price.
I've got three of these now, I keep coming back to them. We have a little hunting cabin in the woods, and we use a fire to warm it. When it's freezing cold and wet outside, often our bbq stick lighters won't stay lit long enough to get the kindling going. This thing always throws sparks, no matter the weather. This and a fire rope and we're warm and dry in no time. I keep one at the cabin, and one in the trunk of each car for emergency fires.

So many sparkles
Nice wooden grip and thick ferro rod! The lanyard is nice which ends with a whistle. The steel is also multi use. This setup make a great shower of sparks and easy to use once the protective coating is scraped off.
