Poor quality cable and no replacement options available.
I love how these sound but after a few months of little usage they make a lot of static noise and pop sounds, after which it does not recieve any sound entirely. Unplugging and plugging it back on the device makes it work the same noisy way for a few seconds before it goes silent again. I don't usually post reviews for products but considering the fact that I paid 10k for IEMs and they didn't even last a year with little usage with no replacement option made me do so.

The Moondrop May delivers outstanding audio performance, far surpassing my AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) in sound clarity and detail. To experience its full potential, I recommend using high-quality streaming platforms like Apple Music that support 16-bit or 24-bit audio. While the built-in DSP handles up to 24-bit audio flawlessly, I did notice occasional stuttering with 32-bit tracks. For those, an external DAC is advisable to ensure smooth playback and optimal performance. Since I don't use 32 Bits, its 5 Stars for me.

I'm not usually someone who EQ's headphones - I like them to sound the way the designer tuned them. But with the moondrop app (have to download the APK for android on their site) the degree and precision of the EQ tuning is HUGE. And the side perk is they're a standard 2 pin 0.78mm design on the cable with a slight recess, so anything you want with a 2 pin design can just plug right in. The cable also actually plays nice with dolby atmos on my phone - a rarity. It sounds fun and lively, instead of weird and unnatural. The biggest boon to the cable that had me leery is that I'm super, SUPER sensitive to "amp click" and low level hiss. the quark DSP was unusable because of that. But I'm happy to report this cable is silent on both sides. No hiss, no click when you're not playing anything and scrolling through youtube. The IEM's work just fine with a regular 2 pin too. Sound is great. These really do sound like a solid $100-150 IEM. I definitely prefer the simgot EM6L to these, but these are a little smoother, trading a little detail and soundstage for cohesiveness. They're gorgeous looking too. And the semi-custom fit is just right for me with some shallower tips. They're a fun tuning at baseline, a little warm-neutral V shaped. The micro planar really is nice and textured - something I like when companies leave in. I think I like them a little more than the aria 2, but they're just a bit more grown up and the aria goes for pure fun. But I'm sure you could tune these to get there as well. It would have been nice if the cable came with a reverse type C to 3.5mm adapter but that's asking a lot, this thing already delivers a ton for the money. The only thing I think is a little odd is the diameter of the nozzle. It's REALLY wide. It's not a super deep/wide design like the truthear zero, which was like trying to fit a cannon down your ear canal (and thus was super uncomfortable for me) but since the tip does the fitting, it's comfortable. It just is WIDE, so fitting tips on it can be annoying. The stock tips were actually a real pain to fit on them. But they'll accept most tips - dunu SS, TRN T tips, coreir brass, everything normal fits, it's just a challenge to put them on for some. And I do wish it had the brass detachable nozzle and replaceable filters of the chu II and Aria II. That really is a superb design choice that the may lacks. Truthfully, there are no deal breakers here. The price they're asking would be almost fair for the cable alone - a really nice DSP and EQ tunable cable is impressive with no click or hiss. And then throw some $100-150 sounding IEM's in as well? Nobody tell moondrop, they forgot to put a 1 in front of their price.
