Tight, Clean Bass That Completes Your Setup and Pairs Perfectly with Studio Monitors
I originally bought the Kanto TUK bookshelf speakers and was already impressed by their clarity and balanced sound. But after adding this Kanto subwoofer to the setup, I realized just how much I had been missing. What I like: This is my first experience with a sealed (non-ported) subwoofer, and the difference is immediately noticeable. The bass is tight, punchy, and extremely precise. It doesn’t overpower or feel delayed — it just fills in the low end in a way that makes everything sound more complete. Whether it's music or movies, the sub brings a new level of presence, especially for voices and ambient sounds. Visually, it matches the Kanto TUK speakers beautifully and fits right into a modern desk or media setup. I also love the automatic power-on feature. The sub detects signal input and turns itself on or off as needed, which is really convenient for daily use. Even though this newer version uses a white veneer finish instead of painted white like the original version, it has held up surprisingly well. I’ve even used it occasionally as a footrest under my desk, and it hasn’t delaminated or discolored at all. What I don’t like: Not much to complain about. I do suspect that the earlier painted finish might be more durable in the long run, but so far I haven’t had any actual issues with the newer veneer. Still, it’s something to keep in mind if you're comparing models. Helpful tips: 1. Use your computer or source device’s equalizer to fine-tune what frequencies are sent to the sub. I found that adding a little more than just the lowest lows helped dialogue and spoken audio feel fuller. 2. Try a Y adapter when connecting your audio source to the sub. It can improve signal strength and balance. 3. Experiment with both phase switch settings. Depending on your room and speaker placement, one setting might sound noticeably better than the other. Final thoughts: This subwoofer takes an already great audio setup and makes it feel complete. It’s powerful, responsive, and blends seamlessly with studio monitors like the Kanto TUKs. Whether you’re into music, movies, or just want better all-around audio, this sub is a fantastic addition.

Does good sub things playing with YU6 Powered Speakers
I've had a pair of Kanto YU6s for a few years. I use them for music and general audio from my PC and audio from my Xbox. They sound pretty good but as many small speakers aren't able to reproduce the lows with much oomph particularly when placement is limited to the side of a monitor on a desk. I decided it was time to add some low end. The three primary goals were to have good sound obviously, take up minimal space, and be relatively inexpensive. That's a difficult set of parameters for a subwoofer. There are many options that are small but they either sound bad or are expensive. I read the reviews for this sub and it seemed to meet all my parameters. As others have noted this is not a home theater super low frequency response sub. It'll add bass for effects, just not at the level or depth of a home theater sub. This is more of a musical sub. It adds a lot to the sound. Music is fuller. Voices have more body. I play Call of Duty and it really enhanced the impact of the game. I have no complaints.

If you want a sub for Ora4’s this is the right sub!
TLDR: It’s a sealed 8” sub. It goes thump. Great for listening to music and watching movies in a bedroom, 300W is plenty of power. Looks really good too! If you are looking to pair with Kanto Ora/Ora4 (my setup) and you love the appearance , and don’t care about low low low (Sub 40hz) bass, you’ll be happy with it, send it! Everyone else, read the full review. 1) Sound: Sounds good! Very musical, it’s an 8” sealed sub so, doesn’t go super duper low. The tradeoff is great accuracy for the size! It’s plenty loud too. I have it set to 10% volume and it sounds awesome. 2) Build and Appearance: It feels very well built and it looks so great! Idk why I personally don’t like looking at ported subs, they just don’t look as good to me. So I just love how this sub looks. So minimal and clean! 3) Setup: No external power brick, love it! Just plug in the power cord and your RCA input and it works. *Two things preventing me from giving it 5 stars.* 1) The built in crossover control is lackluster. I watched some other reviews on youtube on this sub. Definitely bleeds some higher frequencies above the knob setting, so without some filter from your speaker’s sub out or other hardware, this could be an issue for some. If you’ve got Kanto Ora’s total non-issue. **It is possible this has been fixed, the review I watched highlighting this issue was a while ago. These subs have been in production for a while. I don’t have the capability to test this myself.** 2) The price. Because of the crossover issue, $350 is steep if you plan to use these in a minimal setup with speakers that don’t have built in crossover to their sub-out port. It’s also a higher price if all you care about is sound quality and don’t care for looks/size. I’ve seen comparison reviews and there are some larger, not as nice looking subs out there that are a little cheaper and sound just as good. I got them for $270 which is a more reasonable price. Like I said in the TLDR, it does look really good and sound really good. If pairing with Ora4’s you definitely won’t have buyers remorse at $350. It seems to go on sale often, so just keep any eye on price if $350 is a bit steep for you. Final Thoughts: I like this sub, I’m happy with it. It’s a joy to listen to with my Ora4’s.

Look no further…truly impressive!
After a couple hours of break-in listening, the solid deep musical punch that this 8” woofer is quite amazing…for real. The sound quality is similar to my SVS SB1000 (with a 12” subwoofer) in the same stereo system and listening room. The resounding performance of the compact Sub8 exceeded my expectations. Plus, the matte white Sub8 looks much better than the SVS sub. This system has Q Acoustic 3030i white speakers, with same clean rounded-edge styling as the Sub8. Now that the break-in is complete, I will mate the Kanto Sub8 to a pair of Kanto TUK powered speakers for a secondary stereo system. The TUKs are also incredible, so this will be a great pairing.
