It actually sharpens effortlessly
I have two of those sharpeners that press down on the worktop. Useless. This sharpener by contrast is a monster. A few strokes and even my oldest knives have a new life. Really impressive. Rather plasticky handle but who cares?

Sourdough crust buster!
I purchased this honing rod specifically to sharpen a bread knife. My knife was having issues getting through sourdough crust. The honing rod's conical shape worked well with the serrated blade. I was able to sharpen each serration individually, and the results were fantastic. I was able to renew the effectiveness of my bread knife.

Appears to be good quality. Definitely an upgrade from the multiple steels I have purchased over the years. Once knives have been sharpened, this helps to keep them razor sharp with just a few strokes between uses.
