This worked like a dream!
Iโve tried other dye brands but could never get the colour I desired, I then tried the proline from Rit and actually got a nice deep black! This was better than I could have imagined. It was super simple to use, I probably used more than I should have but I was only dyeing two items and both were decent size. (An old tan military jacket and the inside liner) It was important to me that the colour would come out as I wanted it to and even after washing and rinsing the jacket multiple times the colour hadnโt faded much at all! Overall the quality of the colour is an absolute โ10โ and it seems like a colour that would have good durability and stand up well to the sunlight! Overall I would absolutely highly recommend the proline if you have a project that means a lot to you and you donโt want to have to keep re-dyeing!

Awesome for uniform outer vest redye
Works great on uniform fade. Make sure to wash at least once by itself after the initial dye to make sure it doesn't release more dye on other clothing.

Wowee! This has got nothing to do with regular Rit
At some point I'll figure out how to download the picture of my daughter's nylon/acetate blend acid yellow sundress. She loved the dress, but who looks good in acid yellow? I bought the pound of black dye, our favorite clothing color, and it works stunningly. We used the pot over a flame (outside) and there's very little of the spotty effect one gets using regular rit. I mean, who's got a pot big enough to fit over an open flame and have enough room to have a pair of jeans not crowded in the pot? It makes much less difference with this dye. We dyed approximately a dozen items and only one pair of 100% cotton high quality tan shorts didn't pick up the color well. That may have been due to not replenishing the dye before. I did not expect this to work on synthetics but it's great.

Waste of Money
1. Shipping: I ordered this on March 8th and received it on March 13th. I have prime shipping, so I'm unsure why it took 5 days to get to me. 2. Packaging: The bag of dye was packaged inside a Ziploc bag inside an Amazon box. This didn't seem very professional to me and made me wonder where it was shipping from. 3. Ease of Use: I followed the instructions exactly- I used double the amount of dye for the fabric, so I only dyed 8 pounds with the whole bag. I added the correct additions into the mixture based on the fabric, and as I was dyeing multiple objects they were of mixed fabrics. I left them overnight and stirred for 30 minutes before swishing them every 2 hours until I went to sleep. I used Rit Dye Color Fixative in the morning and then rinsed it. 4. Results: I got 3 swamp green items and 2 eggplant purple items. Well, if I'm cosplaying hippie Shrek, this will work, but I don't know aside from that. I don't know how so little dye remained when I left it in overnight and used the colour fixative. I followed the instructions exactly, re- and rereading, so I'm very upset with how the product did not have the desired effect. All of these items were either brown or white. I've attached pictures of the colours I got. Both purple items were originally white, but another white item ended up swamp green. 5. Value: I would never purchase this again. It did not work as advertised, even when instructions were followed. I was only able to dye 5 items for the 30 dollars of dye I bought, which is highly disappointing. I'm going to donate the items now. This was a waste. Overall, I rate this 1 star. It did not work as advertised, took too long to ship, was packaged poorly, and was too expensive. When I dye clothes again, I will not use Rit dye.

It didn't work for me
I probably didn't do it right. I did multiple ways with salt and with vinegar. My stuff came out super splotchy. I tried boiling method for and hour and washing machine method for an hour.

An ok product
Itโs ok. Dyed the items well but then colour faded fairly quick.

Great value!
Great value for the money! This was easy to use and follow the directions. The pigment is rich, and I'm impressed with the quality of my clothes now! I was able to refresh my entire wardrobe with this one!
