This is an original stationery series that was designed in conjunction with a daily notebook. This is an A6 size grid that opens 180 degrees and has 4 color divided inside. The plant diagram of "Yamazakura" drawn by Dr. Tomaro Makino, adorn the cover of the cover. Review: Highly Recommend - Hands down my favorite notebook. The paper is thevstar of the show! You do need to understand the paper to fully appreciate it. It can handle a lot and holds up beautifully. It is especially known to make fountain ink dazzle on the paper, showing all the beautiful characteristics of the ink. The book opens beautifully and lays wonderfully flat, once trained. The paper does not bleed, unless you really overload it in ink. It is a thin, wonderfuI to touch paper. Due to the thinness you may see some light show as you turn the page, but does not affect your writing experience at all. It adds to the character of the page. It is a premium notebook, versatile, and worth every penny. Something I look forward to repurchasing. The journey of cracking open that new book to seeing it grow and morphe into its own unique piece of art. A story all its own Review: Original Tomoe River Paper - This notebook still uses the original Tomoe River paper which is sadly no more. The paper is fountain pen friendly and shows off ink properties wonderfully. For those not familiar with the paper, it is very nice and silky, but thin - inks won't bleedthrough and you can even put watercolor over it, but it will crinkle and ghost, which may not be everyone's cup of tea (I really like the crinkly thin aspect of the paper, but ymmv). The cover is beautiful and Hobonichi notebooks, as always, are sturdily made and are wonderful to use.

Nice paper
If your not familiar with this type of paper. I will help you, Its a special paper desinged in Japan. The quality is great, smooth and very thin. May not be everyone's cup of tea. You will need to NONE alcohol style markers or else they will bleed thru, The finer the point on the pen the better .005 so forth. I also suggest getting a pencil board to lay under the paper when writing. The paper will crinkle over time. Giving it that worn look. Enjoy your new notebook. I will never go back after using this type of paper , Note... think of a bible or a old hymnal as far as paper if this helps.

Exciting New Notebook
Never used anything by Hobonichi before and I was really impressed with the quality. I did a pen test on a page in the back, and there was minimal ghosting and I didn't have any bleed through. It wasn't going to serve the purpose I got it for, but I'm happy to have it and I'm excited to eventually use it. It came in great shape and was exactly as described

Functional little pretty notebook
I got the A6- Pretty straightforward little notebook. It would make a nice little supplement to the techo. Tomoe river paper makes it look very Slim for 120 sheets. It comes in a 3.5mm grid, the 120 sheets are divided into 4 colours, but frankly, as is the case with the techo, the grid Colours on its own are so very subtle, i am strained to tell when one Color ends and the other begins 😄. That’s not a complaint, it’s nice they keep it subtle or else it would be very over whelming. But I would have to add index tabs to keep track. Love the cover design and the high quality finish.

This is the holy grail of notebooks for fountain pen users
The Tomoe River paper can really draw out the character of your pen and ink. It's hard to believe it's the same pen sometimes. Love it!

Perfect blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal
I absolutely love the Tomitaro Makino Notebook! After using my first one, I was so impressed that I immediately ordered two more. The 288 pages of thin, durable Tomoe River paper are a dream to write on, especially with fountain pens, as the ink glides smoothly without bleeding or feathering. The 3.7 mm grid, split into four 60-page sections with subtle red, blue, green, and purple inks, adds a delightful touch of organization and color without being distracting. The notebook’s slim 10mm profile makes it portable yet substantial, offering plenty of space for notes, sketches, or journaling. While it doesn’t lay perfectly flat, the quality of the paper more than makes up for it. Some might find it helpful to add index tabs for navigation, but I didn’t mind flipping through the pages. The Yamazakura design by Tomitaro Makino is beautiful, making it a joy to pull out every day. Overall, this notebook is a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal. Highly recommend it for anyone who values premium paper and thoughtful design
