Great performing drive at a very reasonable price!

I've been using WD hard drives as long as I've been playing with computers, we're talking about the late 1980s. I've installed dozens of them in new builds, upgrades and repairs. This is the first time I've tried one of their SSDs. This SSD replaced a WD Blue hard disk and the machine now boots up in seconds rather than minutes. While it's not exactly a ball of fire, it's fine for everyday computing. This one doesn't cost a whole lot more than the Brand X Chinese products, but it's from a company you've actually heard of and they do honor their warranty if there's a problem.

My Toshiba laptop seemed really, really, really slow and I figured it was due to the 5400 RPM hard drive it came with. I ordered this, got it in a day, and now it's the drive that the laptop uses. I went from waiting a literal minute for Chrome to start, to it starting in a matter of seconds. It changed the character of the laptop from "replace next Black Friday to keep for years. Once the 8 GB stick of RAM comes in, this laptop will serve well for a long time. I'm really impressed with this product and would buy again.

Windows 10 was slow to the point of wanting to throw the machine out the window. Slowness was observed whenever logging in. It took minutes, many minutes, before machine was through thrashing the C: drive. Task manager said C: drive was 100% utilized. I couldn't figure out what it was specifically that was doing the thrashing. But I noticed that average response time for the disk was typically up into the 100s of milliseconds while the thrashing was going on (but settling down to normal values after the thrashing stopped). This was a problem. So I decided to replace the WD Blue mechanical drive with this SSD. Problem solved! Now there is no delay when starting up and the average access time is typically below 1 ms. Cloning the mechanical drive to the SSD was quick and painless using the Acronis s/w available on the WD website.

Its been 4 months i am using this ssd in gaming and i must say it performs well loading time is very fast in PUBG PC, Rainbow six siege and other PVP games. As compared to price the product performs well and i am well satisfied with its performance. Installation is very easy and also the SSD is very light wight. When gaming the temperature of SSD stays around 30 to 40 degree which is Ok. The read and write speed are satisfactory as compared with the price we are getting this SSD, Warranty is also registered online from the website and will be easily claimed when problem rises. Overall this is one of the best BUDGET SSD for gamer or who require SSD for Fast BOOT OS
