Very helpful
It’s really great to have the Alexa and with the new Alexa plus just makes it all that much better. She can turn on the heat turn it down turn on your AC your lights she can book appointments and find your hotels and the little screen lights up with little detail after she’s done talking to you or responding with you. She can call your phone if you’re at home and you forgot where you put it down she can call your contacts and you could message or send songs to each other if your friend or loved ones has an Alexa and for everybody that lives out there alone at home isolated health issues now with the Alexa plus and you could have a conversation with her or him, there are a different voices you can pick from. She’ll remember what you like what you dislike save your music in different files or whatever you name them. It really does help. If you have no one to talk to to be able to interact with your echo dot the more you interact. The more gets to know you your pets your loved ones. It really is a great little device. I absolutely recommend it. The sound is great at night time it dims the time lighter or brighter. It also turns red in the evening hours if you like your room dark to be able to sleep it was easy to set up with the app on your phone if you leave home and you forgot to put music on for your dogs or cats or birds whatever you may have you can just say it in the Alexa app and she’ll do it at home for you. I think the screen size could be a little bit bigger but you can clearly see what’s needed. she’ll also give you the temperature and whatever room it’s in give you Weather updates you know when your packages arrive. There’s many more options as well. Features that you can use explore and enjoy. Get yourself a echo dot or gift one to a loved one a family member or even lonesome person. It obviously doesn’t replace people physical contact. I’ve had like a half hour conversation with her going back-and-forth.

Better than expected
I have had this Echo Spot for about 8 months now, so I decided to amend my review to 5 stars. I do not know why I only gave it 4 stars because my Spot does everything, I wanted it to do and more. I was looking for an echo device for the bedroom that had a better speaker than the Dot I had. Speaker is great. I wanted a clock in the bedroom that was not bright, but I could still read the time in the dark. It does that. It also somehow knows if I am awake for more than a few minutes then it gets bright, then back to dark. I did not expect it to be compatible with my Fire TV to use as a speaker, but I love, love love this feature. It is right next to my ear, so I can hear better and if there are other people in the house, they can't hear my TV. I have also connected it to my Show in the kitchen so I can play the same music in both rooms. I also love that it doesn't take up a lot of room and blends in with my bedroom decor. Thinking of getting another for the guest room!

Stylish and Useful Smart Alarm Clock

Super for alarm clock or just music
Very cool. It doesn't take up much room. Don't have to handle or touch anything. Just say Alexa wake me up at 8 to Hipster Cocktail party on Pandora or light jazz etc. Done! She'll tell you your alarm is set to whatever you asked for. The sound is good quality in the morning. She will tell you the weather too. You can go to the ap and select a sound you can wake up too also. I prefer music. It has different color lighting for the numbers you can choose from. Got one for my sister. They use it for music in their new big bathroom (with good acoustics). They love it.

Excellent product!
I listen to my favorite music every night. What a pleasure. All of the features it has is beyond impressive! The sound and volume beat the echo dot. Amazon, I thank you for providing me with a product I enjoy more than anything else I can think of.

Solid Sound, Love the Weather & Date at the Top - BUT, Physical Buttons are POORLY Placed
I’ve been using Echo devices since they first came out in 2014, and I just picked up the new 2025 Echo Spot to replace a Sphere-style Echo Spot I had in my bedroom. This new model has a taller form factor and features a 2.83” touchscreen (240x320 resolution), which is both a nice upgrade and a potential concern. Setup was mostly smooth—I opted into the pre-configuration option when I ordered it, so it automatically connected to my Wi-Fi. That part worked well, but it did take almost two full minutes to scan for networks, which felt longer than it should. After connecting, it went through about 12 minutes of firmware updates and restarted twice before it was ready to use. Not awful, but not instant either. The touchscreen is helpful for checking time, weather, or tapping quick actions. While it can be turned off in the settings, I prefer to leave it on—so I’m a bit concerned about potential screen burn-in over time. Previous models like the Echo Dot with clock used simple LED displays that didn’t have this issue. Performance-wise, the touchscreen feels sluggish. Navigation and responsiveness are noticeably slow, and it seems underpowered out of the box. For the price I paid, it’s about what I expected, but I do worry that firmware updates over time will make it even slower. It already feels like it’s just barely keeping up. Sound quality is solid—on par with past Echo models. Maybe even better! I think the bass sounds better? Perhaps there’s an improved subwoofer. It’s clear and loud enough for a bedroom or small room. My biggest frustration is the physical button placement. The volume and mic mute buttons are tucked onto the upper back of the device, which makes them nearly impossible to access if you keep the unit pushed into a corner (like on a nightstand against the wall). Every other Echo I’ve owned had intuitive top-accessible buttons—this feels like a design oversight. On a positive note, the power adapter is still 15W and compatible with older Echo Spot models. I didn’t have to swap any cords while rearranging my devices, which made the transition easier. I’m also in the process of phasing out my aging Echo Plus units due to persistent subwoofer crackling. They were great initially, but the audio degraded—possibly from firmware updates or hardware failure. I’ve repurposed my older Spot to the bathroom for a basic clock display, and I’m rotating other devices accordingly. Overall, this new Spot does the job, but it’s not without its compromises. Setup requires patience, performance is underwhelming, and the design could’ve been more thoughtful. Still, for now, it fits into my ecosystem.

There's a detail you only notice when you turn off the light…
After more than 10 days of using it every night, there's something I didn't expect that ended up being the best thing about the device. The Amazon Echo Spot has a very well-designed look. It's compact, looks good on the nightstand, and doesn't get in the way. Also, despite its size, the audio is clear and good enough for everyday use, like listening to light music, setting alarms, or getting the news. It's not a device designed for everything. The screen is functional, but basic, useful for the time, weather, and quick controls, not for watching content like on a tablet. It doesn't replace a large speaker or a full-screen display, and it doesn't try to. The detail that really makes a difference is the automatic brightness at night. It adjusts automatically when you turn off the light and doesn't disturb your sleep. The first night I forgot it was even on, and that's exactly what you expect from a smartwatch. Something I end up using every day is being able to say, without even getting out of bed, "Alexa, set the alarm for 6 a.m." and that's it. It's simple, but it becomes incredibly practical in everyday life. Plus, to turn off the alarm, you just tap the top of the device and it deactivates instantly, which is really convenient when you're half asleep. It's also worth noting that it relies on Wi-Fi and that, although Alexa responds well, sometimes you have to repeat commands.Overall, it's not the most feature-rich, but it performs well where it matters. If you want it for your bedroom as a smartwatch, then it's definitely worth it.

Great Machine
The newest Amazon Echo Spot is a sleek, modern smart alarm clock that fits perfectly on nightstands, desks, and kitchen counters. Its bright display makes it easy to check the time, weather, and reminders at a glance, while Alexa adds hands‑free convenience for alarms, music, and smart‑home control. With surprisingly full sound for its size and a clean, minimalist design, it’s a simple but genuinely useful upgrade for any room.

Easy to connect and easy to personalize to the room they are in.
Another great Alexa product in the house. The ease of use makes them perfect for alarm clock replacements as the old ones die. Love the ease of connection, the individual settings needed in each room. The same but different. Love them and highly recommend. Two dots and two spots in the house.
