This touch screen is excellent for trouble free interface with Raspberry Pi5.

It does in fact run kali but you have to modify files and update some thing’s if you want the startx command to work The 1 star is for: 1. The misleading advertisement that Kali Linux works on it out the box 2. The instructions that come with it lead you to their website and are for a raspberry pi 4 so the screen display cable is going to be different and it matters which display port you use on the raspberry pi 5 3. The feet are brown and black not completely black as shown 4. It’s not a screen used commonly on the raspberry pi from what I could find so using AI to troubleshoot it is going to be a headache (it’s literally just 2 updates and adding nomodeset to the cmdline.text file nothing else)

I used this in conjunction with a raspberry pi and a 3d printed case to view my home assistant dashboard from the kitchen counter using touchkio installed in the pi. The screen looks great, is responsive and really bright. I love they included all of the necessary ribbon cable for connections to the pi. Will definitely buy again for more projects.

Plugs right into rPi with included cables and the Pi conveniently screws right to the back of the screen. No drivers or weirdness needed, it just works. I don't know if I just got lucky but the touch sensor was also perfectly aligned right out of the box on the one I got.

I've tried a few PI screens over the years, and this one is the first one that I've actually felt was decent. The mounting of the PI on the back is straight forward. The routing of the ribbon cable to the HDMI is a little finicky unless you have tiny fingers (I actually found it easier to use some tweezers to close the slot once the cable was in place). Screen quality/resolution is good. Haven't the touchscreen aspect, as I just want this for console output. No drivers necessary, it just works plug and play. The little stands it attaches to is just some 3d printed plastic, which is functional but nothing special.
