I use this in brewing, it seems accurate and works well, 4 instead of 5 stars as now after a few months if it is placed in hot liquid too long the device won't display the temp, all the LCD light up so you get 8888 instead of 66.7 for example, it's easy to correct, just by cooling it down and re-immersing in the liquid you want to take the temp of. A longer handle would be good as well so I could keep my hand away from very hot liquids.

Easy to use and keep clean - the cover keeps it safe in the kitchen drawer when not in use.

It is starting to show room temperature as 200 Celsius. Hmmm, I have a feeling that this is not right. I have started the returns process and Amazon are going to ship another one out. Owned for 2 years. Accurate and reasonably quick response (10 seconds or so) and use or jam making and measuring oil temperature for frying. The only problem is that sometimes steam (when jam making) makes the display flash all 8's. Removing from steam and trying again usually fixes this. Have replaced the battery a few times (use cheap ones from a pound shop).

This thermometer seems to give an accurate temperature reading, but it's a lot slower getting there than my previous one.

I found that this instrument was very neat yet worked very well and was easy to carry around in any pocket.

I bought this for my wife as a stocking stuffer for Christmas last year. She managed to put our old, cheapie digital thermometer in the dishwasher, and you can probably guess what happened there. So I did some research and found that this thermometer had some good reviews and was a reasonable price (I was willing to pay a few extra bucks to get a good thermometer). So far, this thermometer has been great for basic home use. It seems to have a very nice quality build. It has fast temperature reads and it is easy to use. I haven't tried to submerge the thing or wash it in the dishwasher, but I like the fact that it claims to be waterproof just in case. It does wash easily in the sink with no obvious water intrusion issues so far. I really like how the cover can also be attached to the back of the thermometer, essentially acting as an extension handle. We use the extension for the grill, which can get a little too hot with a short thermometer. Overall, we have been very happy with this purchase and it seems like it will last a long time. Highly Recommended!
