From USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes the first in a dark and steamy college romance series featuring elite criminal families and morally gray heroes. Killian Carson is unfeeling, cold-blooded, monstrous…and has developed an obsession with Glyndon that just might be both of their undoing. Killian Carson is a predator wrapped in sophisticated charm. He's cold-blooded, manipulative, and vicious. Though his charisma and intelligence fool everyone, Glyndon sees right through him. She sees the psychopath within, and though her brain tells her to run, there's a secret part of her that knows the monster will only chase her…and she may want to get caught. Glyndon King has never felt like anyone's favorite. Her mother and brothers are the artistic talents in the family, and she knows she will never live up to anyone's expectations. But Killian? He has no expectations except that she is now his. It doesn't matter that their schools are rivals―their possessive, all-consuming desire may be able to drown out everything else. But can two people with broken souls truly repair the broken parts of each other's psyche? Can their dark and sinful desire overcome their history? When it turns out those pasts are more disturbingly entwined than they thought, they may come out stronger, or it may be their unraveling. Review: Red Flags and all - Did I question my morals while reading this book? Absolutely. Did I find comfort in knowing that this is the kind of dynamic I only tolerate in books and not in reality? Also yes. I’ve been on the fence about picking up a Rina Kent book for a while. I wasn’t sure if her style would be for me or if I’d even finish one of her books. With that being said, I’m upset with myself for waiting so long. This book was deeply intriguing and made me question myself, especially as someone new to this genre. Let’s start with Glyn. Her character is simple and naive, but there’s a quiet, dark undertone to her. At the beginning, she’s at one of the lowest points in her life. As the story progresses, we get glimpses into how she views herself as a person, a daughter, a sister, and a friend, while also uncovering what led her to the book’s opening events. Glyn starts off as the kind of person who avoids making waves, suffers in silence, and doesn’t want to be a bother. But as the book unfolds, she grows more outspoken and confident. Overall, I liked her character, but I loved the person Killian helped her become by the end. Now, about her “friend.” For much of the book, we’re led to believe that this friend, who "voluntarily" left the earth, had been in her life for a bit. But toward the end, we find out she only knew him for two months and assumed she knew him better than anyone else. Spoiler: she didn’t. I interpreted this two ways: either she was so desperate for connection that she clung to his words, or she was gullible and naive enough to believe he saw her for who she truly was. When the truth came out about what he said and did, I was baffled as to why she grieved him so deeply. Now, the main event: Killian. He’s every red flag in a man personified, yet Rina made me fall for him. He was different. He was angry, possessive, tyrannical, and an unstoppable force of nature. But then, he became a man with feelings—feelings he didn’t know how to handle. I loved watching him struggle with his emotions for Glyn. He wanted to understand her so he could be done with her, but instead, she became his muse and his safe space. Glyn, in turn, understood him in a way no one else could. She saw through his anger at his brother, even when he denied caring, and she gave him the grace he didn’t know he needed. Killian remained true to himself from start to finish—raw, intense, and unapologetically himself. The only real change was Glyn. She calmed his inner beast, made him tolerable to those around him, and became his balance. He is her monster, and she is his calm. That balance between them was one of the highlights of the book for me. I appreciated how they complemented each other so naturally. I did have some minor issues, though. There were small gaps in the narrative, and the ending felt rushed. The story picked up toward the end, and then suddenly, it was over. I really hope there’s a novella about Killian and Glyn in the future—I’d love to see what Killian would be like as a father! It’s a dark romance but not too dark and I enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. This book follows Killian and Glyndon. Glyndon is British and the youngest and only daughter of the King family. Her mother is a famous artist and her brothers are accomplished artists while she feels lost in their shadow. While Killian is American from an affluent family who is also part of a secret society. Both attending colleges in the same area of the UK their paths cross in a not so peasant way. While Glyndon wants nothing to do with Killian, Killian is absolutely obsessed with Glyndon. The more he purses her the deeper into his world she’s plunged. Even though she fights it, Glyndon is drawn to the darkness. I really enjoyed this book. It was dark and twisty with some fun plot twists and a touch of suspense. I loved all the characters that were introduced and I’m looking forward to reading more of their stories. My one and only complaint is the several chapters at the end that were from different parents perspective. It was really weird and kind of broke the vibe in my opinion. I can only hope it will make sense when I read more of the books in the series. Other than that though I really enjoyed it! If you are a dark romance girlie then I definitely recommend giving it a read!

Perfect read for lovers of dark romance - Electric
Unbelievable opening scene — I could not put it down! An overwhelming personality ensnares a delicate flower with a surprising sense of self-preservation. But all is not what it seems. Rina Kent masterfully draws you into a dark and twisted world where nothing is quite as it appears. The characters are gloriously flawed — she is frustratingly wishy-washy, yet you find yourself rooting for her anyway. And he? He is the ultimate alpha — perfect, fiercely protective, and radiating that unmistakable "touch her and die" energy that dark romance readers live for. The push and pull between them is magnetic — equal parts thrilling and unsettling. This is not a light read. Kent does not shy away from darkness, and that is precisely what makes it so compelling. If you have a taste for dark romance that lingers long after the last page, God of Malice absolutely delivers.

✨ 3.75 ✨
God of Malice was an entertaining and steamy dark romance book. I enjoyed the characters and romance, but there were a few subplots that definitely could have been more developed. This is the first book in the Legacy of Gods series and while the main characters of this book are the second generation of the Royal Elite series and the Lies & Truths Duet, those are not needed to be read before starting this one. I didn’t and I had no problem following the family tree and background of these characters. I would recommend though, checking the content and trigger warnings before reading. It is dual POVs of the main characters and has some amazing tropes like: enemies to lovers, boy obsessed, psychopath-good girl, and a dark bully romance. The overall plot was decent. There were some dark, intense, steamy and amusing moments. However, the storyline regarding the heroine’s friend was quite slow and just underwhelming. The twist and the ending were a bit anticlimactic as well. I will say, both of the main characters inner struggles and dilemmas were intriguing but were resolved too quickly. I personally just felt that there wasn’t enough discussions with their parents for both of them to accept and come to terms with their issues. Especially for the hero, his issue with his father was quite a heavy matter and there just wasn’t enough dialogue between them. The development and romance between the main characters was definitely dark but still very enjoyable. I loved the difference between them and how well they worked together. The hero’s level of possessiveness and jealousy was also just incredible. The smut was great as well and involved various kinks, which I liked. Both of the main characters friend groups were also great. The banter and relationships between all of them was just fun to read and I’m definitely excited for the next book in the series. All the little breadcrumbs of certain potential couples definitely has me intrigued. The last few chapters did feel a bit rushed and there were certain moments that felt unfinished, like how the relationship between the heroine and her brother changed after their argument. But the epilogue was quite pleasing and I enjoyed the cameos of the first generation characters. Overall, just an amusing read and a great start to the series.

Check your triggers!
Wow! Was it unhinged? Yes! But was it also beautiful and amazing and erotic and romantic? YES! My jaw was on the floor after the first two chapters but after we got to know Killian we grow to love him. And Glen is the only one who can tame him. I had since learned that I’m reading the Rina Kent universe out of order so I’m going to go back and start with the Royal Elite series first! Yes and no
SPOILERS. First let me say I enjoyed this book a lot but I have a few problems with it too, and they are mostly in what I will call transitions. Killian starts off as really despicable. He sees a girl who may be suicidal, and intervenes, but not to help her, but to hold her in a precarious position over a cliff, where if he lets go she will fall. He uses his strength to force her to agree to forced sexual favors (BJ) or he will drop her. Then he begins to stalk her. When he finds out she is a virgin, he repeatedly tells her how he wants “her blood on his cock”. This phrase is repeated way too often. Then he slowly gets a bit nicer, though always controlling and willing to get physically aggressive with her, which we are told she likes. In fact we are even to believe that she subconsciously liked that first encounter, which I don’t buy. But it is really the ending of the book that bothered me. First there are the scenes at Killian’s home with his parents. His father says something when he first meets his son’s girlfriend that should never have been said, and certainly not with the entire family there. He demands to know if Killian forced her to be there because why else would she be with him. To me this was unforgivable, yet in no time we find the family in a group hug, which after 12 years of hate, I find hard to believe just gets better in one discussion where dad says one time I’m sorry. Oh great, that’s nice. I find it hard to believe dad was actually sorry or that his son, who supposedly has no emotions, forgives him and lets good old dad hug him. Anyway, I thought that whole thing was an attempt to “make nice” but for me it didn’t ring true. Dad is going to have to do a lot more to make up for those 12 years. And to think he’s been blaming his son (who was 9 years old) for pulling away from him, with no idea why and no thought that he might be part of the problem? Anyway, this is not the most important part of the story, but it seemed like it just rushed to a happier conclusion that I doubt is real. Finally, I found it hard to believe that Devlin, who was supposed to be dead suddenly is not and what? Has be been in hiding all this time just to start a war between houses? That he starts punching Glyndon and leaves her half dead so that Killian will come after him (which he does) seemed far fetched to say the least. I’m sure he could have found a less convoluted way to start violence if that’s all he wanted. Not this elaborate plot. Having said all that, I did enjoy the story between Killian and Glyndon, and after the first third or so of the book, I even liked him. For a guy with repressed violence and sociopathic tendencies, there is also a tender side of him, which it would have been nice to see earlier. I gave the book four stars because of what I thought were some weaknesses in the plot, but nonetheless I would recommend it and would read it again sometime. If you do not like or lets say tolerate dom-sub type sexual behavior, you probably won’t like this book, but if you’re willing to go along that these types of relationships exist and are ok if the participants are ok with it, then give this book a try.

Dark romance gold
If you are into dark romance,, this book is perfect. Please note this is not for beginners. This is intermediate dark Romance. I love the MMC Killian. It is spicy since the first chapter. Please read your trigger warnings. The book arrived to me, slightly scratched and dented on the spine. But I loved the story.

Glyn and Kill
This is the first book in the Legacy of gods series. My second time reading it, and well let me just say that Killian didn’t disappointment me again. He might be unhinged in his own way but the way he became obsessed with Glyn. The way that he was there at every turn and she fought but he persisted, I love. But I love me a little bit of an unhinged man. Glyndon King wasn’t going to just forget about her friends death, she was on a mission to find out more information until she called it quits because she ended up falling for Kill. Getting to see how everything between them unfold was the best. From the opening scene, to initiation, to him being bringing her food for lunch everyday while in med school just showed how much he loved her. The epilogue scenes were it for me too. I loved the way he proposed. 🥰 Levi will never get rid of his son in law. 😂

ossessione
Come?
