yes it's the same cord used for PS3 controllers. and yes product works on PS3 fine. just can't use it on PS4 though

No PS4 doesn't support the PS2 memory data

is this device wireless connected to the ps3 console?

no. it takes the same type of USB cable, as the ps3 controller.

Can I use it to back up my save data to a computer?

yes. although, it's rather difficult. it's better to save it to the ps3, then copy that to a thumb drive. which, you can save to you computer (for back-up). it's really difficult, if you're trying to convert files for an emulator though.
