The manual is rubbish. Thats the only downfall of this dash cam. The good thing is that the kit is that easy to put together and use, you wont need the manual. I got this bundled with a 128gb Samsung Micro SD and the front and rear cameras. I placed the front and rear cams in position and then ran the cables. To make a neat job of it, you may come across a crevice or a compartment to hold any slack cable and then tuck the rest of the cabling behind the weatherproof seals etc. Once the cables were installed and everything was connected, i quickly tested the two cams to make sure all was working fine,and could see the image on the small screen on the rear of the front cam. Now I was happy all was working fine, I disconnected the front cam and ran through the settings for time and date and quality prefernce of the video for cam etc. The Android app is called KaKa, whilst it isnt great and has a poor GUI, it does the job. Activate the wifi AP mode by stopping any recording and clicking the wifi symbol, then follow the on screen instructions for the password. The quality of both camera's is very very good. Easily pick out reg plates and even finer details. Both camera's have a very wide viewing angle allowing to see a good range. The internal mic is also of decent quality to record the audio from within the car. So far, im very happy that I have pretty much all angles covered at all times of driving my car and know ill be able to use any footage as reliable evidence should I need it for insurance purposes. Well worth the purchase and the price.

This is a complete package with cam, power, rear plug in cam and WiFi link. The camera system works fine out the box and the mounting solutions are first rate. Setup is easy and the power cable is approx 4m long so installation is a breeze too. The link with iPhone using built in WiFi is ‘ok’ once established but unlike the description I am unable to bring up the map display on my iPhone 14 when connected. It’s just a compressed and jumpy repeat of the dash cam screen with the option to start/stop recording, take photo, and review files. Without the mapping and gps info the companion app is a bit useless and certainly doesnt currently offer the functionality that it suggests it does. It’s a software thing that may get updated in time, I hope. GPS acquisition is also very slow. I have travelled 20 miles before it’s worked out where I am. That isn’t ideal when relying on the data. Concluding. A good dashcam with plug in rear cam. That alone is 5 star, but no different to most dash cams. The features that should justify the higher price fall short of expectations.

I installed and hardwired this dashcam into my Audi Q5 without any issues. The setup was straightforward, and the performance so far has been impressive. One of the standout features for me is the excellent video quality, especially at night. I've tried other dashcams before, and like most models, they tend to become grainy and almost useless at night. This is true for all brands I've used so far, including more expensive ones. However, the IIWEY D2 Pro consistently performs well, with minimal glare and clear footage even in low-light conditions. The rear camera also performs better than others I’ve tested, with no significant degradation in image quality when it gets dark, which is often a problem with other dashcams. I was particularly impressed with how little glare the front 4K camera captures—something that even high-end models struggle with. It really stands out compared to others that often distort or blur in bright light. Overall, based on my initial use, I’m impressed with the performance and quality of the IIWEY D2 Pro. It seems to offer excellent value for money, especially considering how well it handles both day and night conditions. I’m looking forward to seeing how it performs in the long term. Super High Quality Video from IIWEY D2 Pro Dash Cam Great camera & good price, with super crisp & clear imaging on both front and rear in daylight (see below) Easy to read number plate details but unable to show on video sample due to Amazon rules. It is very fast to pick up on satellite positioning, giving quick data on both position & speed Both cameras are very compact so can easily be positioned without interference of mirror or sun visor Impressed with the quality of camera, cables etc plus the addition of spare mounting pad & accessories The night time quality on the front camera is superb by comparison to others I have used, the rear, (as expected) not so good, but mainly due to the lack of light….We live in a very rural area so street lighting is sporadic, so probably much better in a well-lit town or city Overall, really impressed & would recommend this quality dash cam over some of the more expensive brands!

1, First don't get caught out - check are they selling with an SD card included? not at the moment. 2, The PC software version of WitCam downloaded from the link in the manual does not show GPS position and time. 3, The video image recorded on the SD Card has no text on it. 4, The only way to view the GPS position and speed recorded in the video file is to download the video file to your phone via the dash cam Wifi with the WitCam app on your phone, and then view the local file on your phone in the WitCam app with your phone reconnected to the internet. This local version of the video file now has a text line at the bottom of the image showing date and time, but not GPS position. i.e. during the download Witcam has edited the video file! GPS positions are shown on Google maps in the app. 5. if you've had a crash that has broken the camera, you may end up having to find another camera to be able to view the GPS position, etc, recorded on the SD Card. 6. I've had a go with some of the free dashcam viewer software and have not found any that can read the GPS data on my iiwey S1 dashcam - including exiftool. From the discussion forums it appears that most dash cam companes are using the same manufacturers processors but are encoding the GPS data differently in the resulting video. 7. The GPS is provided by a separate small box that also has to be fixed to your windscreen alongside the camera (most of the pictures here do not show the GPS box) - you can just not use it. 8. The iiwey S1 only records in 4k if you leave off the rear camera (a common marketing ply with dashcams it seems). 9 Have a search on youtube for dashcam footage - the reflections from the windscreen! and no night footage. 10 iiwey facebook page had no recent posts when I looked. 11. I have not seen/found any options to update the dash cam firmware for the iiwey s1. The PC software claims WitCam is upto date.

Having tested several more expensive dashcams over the years I thought I would try something a little less expensive and I was not disappointed. This is a great camera kit for the price. Firstly the customer service from IIWEY is excellent. They always respond within 24 hours. Support advised a software update which once done solved most of the issues I had during initial set up. Picture quality is solid in day and night, front and rear. I would love a higher resolution from the front camera (1440p would be nice especially for night time) but 1080 is fine. The touchscreen is very easy to use and gives the camera a more premium feel than the clicky plastic buttons you find on most dashcams. The cables are more than long enough and the cigarette lighter socket even includes USB ports. The red wire on the rear camera activates the rear camera on the screen when you engage reverse gear (you need to wire the red wire to the reverse lights). This is a handy feature which also overlays proximity lines which can be helpful when reversing. A neat feature which many more expensive cameras do not have. Ensure you format your SD card properly on a computer first - use default settings. I formatted using manual settings and the camera would fail to record properly on it until I formatted again. It was a brand new premium 128gb SD card. A 128gb SD card will keep around 10 hours of footage on the camera at all times. If you have a DAB Digital Radio system in your car, you may need to add additional ferrite cores to the power cables to and from both cameras and the GPS unit. These are available cheap (3mm works fine) and stopped my DAB signal from dropping out every 20 seconds which is common with many dash cams. All in all a great camera I have already recommended to friends and family and I will purchase again from IIWEY in the future.

This is a very good quality cam , easy to set up , but a big problem is that the software app on the apple app store is not the most updated one , so GPS details do not show on the phone and I don't know what other options are missing. Been in touch with the supplier and they are helping but in the usual Chinese way photos here photos there and loadsa emails backwards and forwards. And still waiting for the updated app. This is now getting very bad the supplier has said that the app for this product is out of date, and to download the new one, thats a laugh the updated software is not on the apple app only the old one. This company doesn't seem to understands this, and are still asking for pics of this and that .I am getting nowhere. Next step is a return and refund..this cam also keeps turning on an off
