OXO Good Grips Plastic Sugar Dispenser

This is my second OXO sugar dispenser — not because the first one failed, but because I accidentally broke it. I reordered the exact same one without even considering another brand, which honestly says everything.What I love most is how controlled and clean the pour is. The flip-top lid opens easily with one hand and dispenses sugar smoothly without dumping too much at once. No clumps, no mess, no sugar crusted around the opening. It’s perfect for coffee and tea setups.The clear body makes it easy to see when you’re running low, and it feels sturdy without being bulky. It fits neatly on my coffee bar and looks simple and streamlined — not industrial or overly decorative, just clean and functional.The first one held up great with daily use. When I dropped and cracked it (100% my fault), I immediately replaced it with the same model because it just works. OXO consistently nails practical kitchen tools, and this one is no exception.If you want a no-mess, easy-to-use sugar dispenser that pours consistently and looks tidy on the counter, this is it.Highly recommend — clearly, since I bought it twice.

OXO never has disappointed us. This is a small container - just keep that in mind. No, we will not order again because we don't need more than one and it is likely to last a long time. 'Nuff said.

Due to this longevity and not replacing it I'm upgrading my rating to 4/5.Short review:+ Holds a lot of sugar+ Keeps it dry+ Wide mouth makes it quick to refill- Wide nozzle pours sugar very fast when opened fully. Need to learn to open it a fraction (say 1/4) to pour onto a spoon or it'll overflow-- Original Review:I bought this to measure sugar onto a spoon for my tea. Before I bought this dispenser I'd been using a sealed jar of sugar and a spoon, but once you use the same spoon to stir as well as measure the sugar, you quickly end up with a clumpy mess.This dispenser looks and feels sturdy and was easy to open and fill with sugar.With visions of a wonderful new world, free of clumpy sugar, were dancing through my head, I decide have a nice cup of tea to try the OXO dispenser.I gently tipped the dispenser towards the tea spoon, expecting a gentle flow, only to be surprised by a sudden torrent of sugar that instantly overwhelmed the spoon and scattered across the counter top. I'm not sure if it's the type of sugar that we have in the house, but mine just says "Sugar" on the box, so nothing special, but I can only imagine that the dispenser was made with larger grained sugar in mind.Now aware of the sugar throughput; I've become an expert at gently opening the spout a few fractions of an inch, so that only a small and manageable stream of sugar comes out. The down side to this technique is that if there are any clumps at all in the sugar it will block the flow, but this can be avoided by giving the dispenser a bit of a shake before starting the spout alignment and pouring technique.Another peeve with this dispenser is that the sugar granules get stuck between the sides of the spout and the sides and top of the opening, so when you open / close the spout there is a grinding sound and the spout may not close fully on the first try as you need to loosen the granules further.If you were using this to dispense larger measures of sugar, say for baking, then this will work great. If you're trying to dispense just a tea spoon at a time, it might be worth giving it a miss and trying something else.I'll be sticking with this for now, especially as I love the feeling of accomplishment every time I perform a perfect pour and don't end up dumping a whole tablespoon of sugar into my teacup.

This OXO plastic sugar dispenser is unbreakable for klutzes like me, has a good lid closure/seal, is easy to clean, and well priced. OXO products last.

I purchased this dispenser because I was tired of pulling down the large, heavy, sugar canister off the shelf every morning for my coffee. This does a great job in place of that.Pros:- lightweight- nice sized pour spout- easy to refill- easy to cleanCons:- on the small side (so if you’re someone like me who likes a little bit of coffee with my sugar, then you will find yourself refilling this a lot), but I knew that in advance so I wasn’t disappointed- others mention the spout can clog up (hot steam from coffee cup meets sugar from spout). Does this happen? Yes. Can it be prevented? Yes. Simply put your sugar in your coffee cup before you pour the coffee… no more clogs!Overall, I would definitely recommend this. The pros far outweigh the cons.

I have so much OXO stuff in my kitchen it's ridiculous, but I love their products because they are functional, affordable and so well made. These sugar dispensers are no exception. At 9 oz they are the perfect size for me. I bought two of them. I use one for sugar and the other for powdered creamer. I chose the plastic ones instead of glass just in case one should fall on the floor. Even though they are plastic they don't look cheap and the silver top matches my other containers. Cute! They look nice at my little coffee station. I'm very happy with my latest OXO purchase.

I'll start off by stating that I have purchased two of these dispensers and have used them for some time.PROS: The product, as a dispenser, does a great job. I like how the lid snaps shut and pops open, and as other reviewers have mentioned, if not careful you can fling a small amount of sugar out. This however, is a minor issue and not worth mentioning further. The product looks nice and has a nice size for a sugar dispenser. In my opinion the regular sugar dispensers one finds at restaurants are too big. When there is too much sugar in a container it has a tendency to harden at the bottom, or form smaller clumps at the top. This dispenser's smaller size prevents that from occurring as often, but still allows for a decent amount of sugar so you don't have to keep refilling it all the time. Also, unlike regular dispensers, one can accidentally tip this one over without having the lid just flip open spilling out its contents. The dispenser looks nice with an elegant brushed aluminum/white plastic top. The base is of good quality plastic and doesn't seem to stain, and is also easy to wash.CONS: There are two flaws with this dispenser that one should be aware of:1) The nice looking top is made of a thin metallic casing slipped over a white plastic inner portion. The plastic portion is only visible near the bottom end of the top forming a white plastic lip. The plastic portion houses the flip lid which is the only part that protrudes out of the metallic upper portion. For some reason on the inside ceiling of the top, OXO decided to make four slits which leave small openings between the upper metallic portion and the under plastic portion. This makes washing it difficult because tiny amounts of sugar eventually enter through those slits and settle between the the upper and lower. You'll notice that after rinsing and drying it you still find syrupy liquid seeping out between the metallic upper and plastic lower portions at the lip. A tiny amount of water usually gets trapped there and there is no way to really dry it out. Once you put the top back on and refill the dispenser the trapped water introduces moisture through the slits which is the worst possible thing.2) Like I mentioned earlier, I have purchased two of these. The first one fell off the table and the bottom of the plastic base broke clean off. It seemed odd since it is made of plastic and one would expect it to resist such a minor fall. So I purchased a second one, but the same thing happened again. What you'll notice if you look carefully, is that the clear plastic base is really made of two pieces, a cylinder and a circular base which forms the bottom. The pieces are joined together in some form, but the problem is that if it falls and hits the ground it comes apart. This defeats the purpose of having a plastic container to begin with. Glass breaks when it falls which is why people choose to use plastic, but this item breaks just as easily. If this happens to you don't throw away the top, just find another container to screw it onto.

Great design. We needed a sugar dispenser for our office kitchens that had a spout, but with a closing seal. Fits the bill perfectly. No more sugar in open canisters with deposits left from several people using a spoon to dispense.
