Best for Xbox and PC/Mobile
I'm in love with these headsets, it was just plug and play. The app is very useful to change the EQ preset according to the game I play on Xbox. There was no need to do extra steps to get these to work, although you might need a PC in order to update the firmware with SteelSeries GG software. The headset feels comfortable and I barely feel I have them on after several hours (I have a small head). The sound is very clear, I can notice small details while gaming, no heavy bass boost or any extra sound feature that make the sound uncomfortable like explosions in game. It is a well balanced sound and they are very loud that I barely keep them 100% the volume, with SteelSeries GG software on PC you can customize the EQ how you like for competitive shooter games or any other games you play. I feel the default EQ presets I tried were really nice, some people have issues with some default EQ presets but you can always tweak it with GG software ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. The SteelSeries App just works, it was easy to set up and there is no delay while changing the EQ preset. However you cannot make a custom preset from the app, you might need to install SteelSeries GG software on your PC and create the EQ preset on Engine section. You can set the Equalizer for 2.4Ghz connection or BT, having an EQ gaming preset for 2.4Ghz and EQ music preset for BT, there is no need to switch it over again after switching to Xbox/PC or phone. There is no delay or distortion issue with the dongle on Xbox or PC, I feel the delay on these headsets are very minimum, dialogues are always synced. on mobile I just use it to listen audios or watch short videos that I don't care much how it works there but it works really nice and there is no delay at all. Bluetooth on PC I wished I can test it and I hope to do it soon. A quick tip if you move the dongle back and forth on Xbox and PC, you can install the Xbox Accessories app on PC and use the dongle on Xbox mode on PC, this just works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Noted: These headsets will only work Wireless, with either the original dongle or Bluetooth. There is no wired solution or to pair it with Xbox Wireless Adapter on PC, I wished these two options were available for versatility. and there is no simultaneously BT connection, you either have it connected via dongle or have it connected via BT but you cannot listen to both at the same time, the quick switch just works really fast tho. I still haven't tried really well the battery life for these headsets, I've been using it a lot to tweak things and use it on Xbox, PC and phone that battery life just lasted a week, I will measure it with a normal use later on. (hopefully I didn't get a deflective one since 1 week was pretty short according to their 60hr battery life advertisement) --- I hope to get back to this review for long term review, in my opinion SteelSeries did a good job making these headsets for this price comparing to others brands for what it offers. It is really worth the purchase if you mainly use Xbox and PC for gaming.

Please read review before ordering anything else from this good company😉👌
These headphones, which are the arctic nova five X wireless have the same exact drivers as the series 7 pro wireless. Nova has a 50 to 60 hour battery life. The seven has two interchangeable 20 hour batteries. Nova get one gold star lol. The nova has a companion app for your cell phone that allows you to control the equalizer and over 260 different presets for all different sounds. The series 7, requires you to connect to your computer with a wire via an extra peripheral called a gameDAC , and this thing would be convenient, but can’t hold remotely as much presets as the companion app for the cell phone for the nova. The nova can also be connected to your computer to add custom presets to your app which allows even more diversity, but you don’t need to. Nova gets another gold star. This year the nova introduced a new microphone that blows the series 7 microphone out of the water as far as sound quality And that’s another gold star for the nova. The nova has double wishbone suspension as a pull it to hold the cups firmly on the ears. The series 7 has only one arm on one side of each headphone cup. This can fatigue, the arm after a while, causing the cup to become a little relaxed, and it does not grip the head as hard. The nova is not too tight, but it is snug to keep the sound in. The series 7, also costs almost 3 times as much as the Nova 5x. The series 7 is made with aluminum and nicer materials, but they are also all interchangeable except for the main solid headband that goes across the top. Where as the nova five is made out of material and a thick plastic, it depends really on if you like aluminum or not, but you can’t tell by looking at it that’s just another difference. I have two friends now that bought the seven after I bought the five and they are very upset. I think I got mine on Amazon for under $120 and they spent a little over $300 for theirs. they are happy with the headphone because they’re a good headphones but they’re not happy that they spent the money not realizing that the series 7 is definitely going to be refreshed this coming year. Save yourself the money do you research steel series versus steel series on YouTube you’ll find everything you need to know about the two of them versus each other. This way to save your money for some more video games.. PS because of the 2.4 GHz/Bluetooth dongle. I was able to get the Xbox version faster and still connect it to my PlayStation five. Using the 2.4 GHz dongle. The only difference between the seven and the five is that the seven can connect to your console or computer and still using 2.4 GHz use two channel Bluetooth to also answer the phone. Then number five I believe has 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth, but you have to switch between the two of them when using the game console at least but the phone will ring in your ear to let you know you have a cold you just have to switch with one button on the side of the head. I think you’ll find the pricing a little confusing as the pros seven series also seems to fluctuate in price between the Xbox, the PC and the PlayStation version as much as $50 difference between them and there is no difference between them literally so I don’t know why there’s a fluctuation in pricing. Somebody knows I’m not sure if you can reply to my review but let me know? I hope this all helps. Just make sure if you do get the Xbox version for the PlayStation five that you have the 2.4 GHz dongle. It’s a long rectangle. It’s about 2 inches at best but it has a toggle switch. I got the Xbox one because it shipped immediately. I was gonna have to wait a few days more for the PC or the PlayStation version. I’ll tell you that the companion app on the cell phone does wonders using the 260+ presets for the EQ switch instantaneously and on the flight consistently without having to plug into the computer. And without having to worry about a gameDAC or two separate rechargeable battery packs that you have to swap into your ear every 20 hours when you just plug in the series 5 and get 60 hours worth of play. It’s not standby time by the way that’s playtime. You can play every day for eight hours a day for a whole week and still have some hours left over the sound quality is great and you’re just listening to music using your phone they pound. !!!

Great Headset, 1 Minor Issue
This headset has been overall a positive purchase. The customization options with the Steelseries GG app (absolutley recommend downloading that to your PC if you get a SteelSeries headset) have made it so I can elevate footstep noises in games like R6, but I can also switch that off if I am playing a more laid-back RPG or something. It also has the ability to conveniently connect to your phone, which can be helpful if you get a call or want to listen to music. A bummer about this feature is that you can't have the headset connected to both at once (if you are listening to something on your phone, you won't be able to hear the PC and vice versa). Still, it is a convenient feature. For me, the sound quality and comfort of the headset are the real attributes that make the headset a winner. I find that the level of noise cancellation is perfect - strong enough so that little noises such as fans or neighbors are blocked out, but not too deafening where you can't hear timers, doorbells, or someone talking directly at you. The sound comes through clear, and with the right mixes in the aforementioned app, you can really emphasize the frequencies that are important for any particular game that you might be playing. As for comfort, I've worn the headset for hours on end no problem, felt great around the ears as well as the top of the head. It's worth mentioning that I've got a decent sized noggin, so if anyone's worried about that, I can vouch for these headsets working great! The only issues that I have with the headset are connectivity issues. Sometimes when I boot up my PC, discord doesn't recognize the headset. The fix that I found was simple and quick (just switching the dongle to Xbox and back to PC), so it really is a minor issue. For me, the battery life is perfect as I don't go on crazy long marathons or anything, but I could see that a slightly more intense gamer could run into problems there. I would say I charge about 1-2 times a week, probably averaging about 20 hours a week. Overall, good quality headset and I would recommend to people looking for a higher level piece of equipment. Hope this helps!

Insane quality to price, especially on sale
I bought this for playing on pc mainly and as a backup for my Xbox headset (I currently use an Arctis 9X). My pc has been acting up with bluetooth connections, and i couldnt ever get the Arctis 9Xs to sound good using Steel Series Sonar when i could get it to connect (not the headset issue, connects to everything else fine, tested other bluetooth headsets and its definitely my pc). I bought the Xbox version because I couldn't see any downside to having the Xbox specific connection as this headset will connect to everything else, and I got it on sale for prime day at about $90. Ill be comparing it to my Arctis 9X in some aspects. First very noticeable trait would be the weight. This thing weighs next to nothing compared to the Arctis 9X, partially because the headband support is plastic instead of metal. The 5X have a similar head support that is a tension band with some adjustability. The 5X band is a soft rubbery cushion piece where the Arctis 9X have a full cloth covered stretchy headband wrap that uses velcro. I dont have an issue with either, but for obvious reasons the 9X headband has more precise adjustability, the 5X has 3 different notches that you can adjust and thats is it. I believe this will work for most people. The retractable mic is solid and my voice comes through crystal clear without picking up my background noise. I think I prefer the mic to be slightly sticking out on the headset like 9X, the mic is easier to take out, but its hasn't been difficult at all regardless. The ear cups are lighter and have a less rigid foam feel than the 9X, but I think that helps the ear cups really relax around the ears and keep sound in, as they dont feel dense or act like sound canceling headsets. The only thing I dont like about the headphones themselves is the dials for the various sound enhancing and volume functions feel very cheap. They are light weight and it feel very easy to accidently over adjust your settings, where the 9X have weightier dials with better feedback. Sonar pushed my audio settings in a better direction than my 9X on pc by far, but I think for Xbox, the 9X just still have the edge. If you dont want to get into the $200 range on premium console headsets/ pc headsets, but want that quality sound and mic, this comes highly recommended. Battery life is insane. Considering i play on both Xbox and PC, I can easily go a week- 2 weeks before needing to charge it.

Not worth the price. Bluetooth is very hit or miss if it works.
Pros: sound quality is amazing. Battery lasts forever. Very comfortable Cons: If you are playing Xbox and are wanting to watch a video on your phone, you have to hit a button to use Bluetooth and 80% of the time the video still doesn't play through the headset and tou have to unplug the dongle and plug it back in. About 40% of the time I turn on my headset, I can't hear any noise and have to again unplug the dongle to fix it. About 40% of the time the headset doesnt catch that I am trying to talk to someone even though it has been connected to my Xbox and I have to unplug the dongle I had the arctis series 9x before this and it was so much better

Can't recommend these enough
Casual gamer here, but these are incredible value. Fit and feel is second to none. Connectivity is solid, retractable mic is unexpectedly appreciated. The mic has an LED indicator when it's muted which is a nice touch. Sound quality punches above its price point and even has an app that allows you to choose from basic presets and game specific presets and the list is HUGE. Usually play for about an hour or two at a time and never feel discomfort. Setup was straightforward with the wireless dongle on Xbox. Came from wired Astro A20's and feel like they're in the same realm in terms of quality, but more customization and WAY lighter.

If you're looking to purchase something in the middle these are a great option
I had used the PlayStation exclusive headphones for the PS4 and PS5, and at the end of that journey I'm quite disappointed. Both pairs made my ears uncomfortable after having worn them for maybe 30 minutes. They would always cut out whether the dongle was plugged into the back of the PlayStation or into the front. I know that Sony's pretty good about updating their firmware so there shouldn't have been any issues in that regard. I spent so long asking people and reading through reviews until I finally settled upon these. So far I'm not disappointed! The ones that are labeled for Xbox are $50 cheaper than the ones labeled for PlayStation, and they're the exact same thing. And the "Xbox" branded ones are compatible with PlayStation, Switch, PC, and mobile. They can also switch to Bluetooth mode if you don't want to use the dongle, and the sound quality for music using my phone was actually pretty decent for middle of the road. The retractable microphone and alleged up to 60 hours of battery life makes the fact that they're lightweight even better. And the most important part, they're comfortable. They adjust to accommodate most head sizes I would assume. These gaming headphones are a great recommendation from me! I did read one review where somebody complained about the mic quality. After doing a mic test on my PlayStation I haven't had any complaints from people that I've spoken to. Decent quality, design, and volume control

It's perfect...But
If I could give half stars I would. If I could, I'd give it a 4 and 1/2, it's so close to being perfect, but some small things kind of bring it down for me. Since I have a larger head, and am a particular type. I enjoy the headphones, but there are some things that I REALLY like, and things I DONT like. It's still OVERALL recommended, and for this price, is okay. Compared to the normal SteelSeries site, which is more expensive...sadly, but I would say, overall a good purchase. Especially if you are coming from a headset that is much quieter, which I was, as a RIG 700HS, to this. It was a nice shift, and change of pace. Pros: Packaging was nice for the headphones, feels very clean, professional, it was a fun opening experience, especially for those like me, who do not often buy the more "luxury" type of brands, or items. Delivery was perfectly fine, thanks to Amazon delivering on a Weekend, that was nice. Too bad the rest of my setup can't do that, haha, but still good! The band at the top feels really comfortable, doesn't hurt the head at all, just overall a good feeling headphones Simple mute button to mute the mic on the microphone, the microphone is also push in, and pull out, so it's easy to put away, and you don't have to worry about it, and it looks slick as well, without having a huge mic bulking out of it. Also, be aware, if you push it back, that will NOT mute it; you have to hit the mute mic button, on the back of the mic. It will give you a red LED, but don't worry...you can remove that in the App! It also a chat mix, and game mix, to where you are able to raise, and lower between if you want things in your chat mix, like people talking, or stream elements going off, like follows and stuff, or you prefer your game, to which you cannot hear any of that. You can also keep it in the middle, where you can hear both. A really nice feature, is the 2.4 ghz, to blue tooth. It's a simple button, boom, boom, switch back and forth. AND these headphones will lock into like your phone blue tooth, so you can have your headphones in blue tooth on your phone, and hit 2.4 at your computer, and later...when you hit Bluetooth again, your headphones will already be ready, and activated on your phone, if you had not turned Bluetooth off on your phone. It's a great feature, and really neat! Cons: Size: The headphones can seem...a bit small? I don't know how to explain it, but the arms that bring the earcups down more, for those like me with a larger head, it really doesn't go out much. So, those with big heads, can find it a bit worrisome, as I was concerned it might not even fit my head. The arms just simply don't go down that much, and support that wide variety of heads. But luckily! If you are thick headed, from left to right compared to up and down...SteelSeries has got you covered! It was great when it came to stretching it out to the sides...so that's a plus! Shape: My ears are slightly too big, so it does sometimes shift and fall a bit for me, so that kind of sucks a bit, but the ears are still comfortable. Fits for long periods of time, so I don't have a problem with that! It was easy to setup, not a problem at all on the PC. Software: My main problem is the software sadly...The idea is neat, but I will also say that, there are some issues that I would like to point out. Expect to do research to a degree on it, just because it's a bit more complicated than I would really say it should be. Now...I'm not talking about the EQ's themselves, that's fine. I mess with that, and I have experience with that, but for those of you who don't... Sonar: Expect to rely on SteelSeries' Sonar. They have over 190 Pre-built EQ's...Some are really good! But others....or rather most...are not at all. So, expect to use the ones they have as a base model and experiment from there. So, really...to get the most out of these headphones, coming up with your own EQ is pretty beneficial for the best sound quality possible. There are some GREAT videos out there, if you truly don't know anything about EQ's, but truthfully? It's mainly just about going out and experimenting with it, and finding out what you like for your sounds! I will say, another thing...I don't know, if this is just me not know it yet, (since I just got it today) or if it just isn't a thing. However, I wish if I was using Sonar, and i had launched Baldur's Gate 3, it would automatically switch to a Baldur's Gate 3 EQ, and or another EQ that I have setup for that game to switch automatically too. Then, if I launch another game like Batman Arkham Knight (which DOESNT have an EQ) but I've set my own EQ to it, then it'll automatically sense that game, and switch that set EQ. I think this is beneficial, and really makes it easier for those, who just wish to simply switch games, without having to go through, alt tab, switch EQ's, etc., etc. It's more of a small complaint I would say...since, Alt Tabbing really isn't that much, but you know, it's the little things! Overall Message: Great Headphones! They work great, they're simple, they're fun to use, it's fun to mess with things, and if you have a quiet pair of headset, don't worry...This one has you covered! (Little Tip: Turn off Sound Limiter in the settings if it's too quiet for ya...Don't worry, we got you head bangers covered!) But other than that, it was a blast to use, and am content with my purchase!

Poor support
The headset itself is of good quality with no issues of product. The headset is also only suitable for those with a smaller head. The main issue is with the support that comes with the steelseries app which is needed to update the headset. The app simply doesn't work as of the time of this review.
