THE BEST MULTI-PURPOSE COCONUT OIL!
This coconut oil is awesome! Great taste and aroma of fresh coconut. I used it to make chocolates, brownies and cookies. It’s even great for rice crispy treats especially the fruity ones. I like using coconut oil because it’s a healthy alkaline, brain enhancing oil which makes desserts, snacks and meals a guiltless indulgence ditching the high fat content and actually gives a healthy alternative to using butter and other bad fatty oils. The appearance is a pearly white. I also use it on my skin, hair and chapped lips. It’s extremely healing and works quickly without having additives like store bought moisturizers. It’s also a great personal moisturizer. I also make natural pain ointments with food grade peppermint crystals and this coconut oil and Shea butter and a few other natural ingredients. It absorbs great and works wonders and saves a lot of money!

Wonderful oil with so many benefits
*UPDATE* 2/13/17 OK it seems like everything is happening at once here. My cats keep getting sick for some reason or another. Last time was Ringworm which thanks to this Coconut oil that cleared up fast without needing to see a vet. Now, is Tapeworm in my 3 cats. Why? Because we have a feral colony & I am super naive about flea medications and treatment for cats that are indoors only but wander outside supervised every afternoon. Who knew that so many illnesses and things could happen to a cat in its own yard?! Anyways, here we go again - I did some online research about treating tapeworm in cats and came up with Coconut Oil and Pumpkin Seed Oil combined to kill the worms naturally. I mixed 1/2 cup Coconut Oil in with 4 capsules of Organic Cold Pressed Pumpkin Seed Oil (cut the capsule open & poured the oil into the container with Coconut Oil) then mixed and added a tiny bit of water, enough to make it liquid without having to warm up the coconut oil so I could feed with a syringe to my 3 cats. I gave 2 ml in a syringe 1 time a day and immediately saw results. No worms after day 2 and my cats had more energy. This is an ongoing treatment for me, so I am not sure how many days it will take to clear up the worms because this is natural and not medicine but I also have Drontal to use which is a wormer for cats that also kills tapeworm. As with all things, prevention is key and to use this natural method to rid tapeworms in a dog or cat also make sure to use some type of flea medication and treat your yard and home to rid the fleas or else a reinfestation can occur within 3 to 4 weeks of worms. I sure wish I had some very good and interesting ways of using this oil to comment here, but for some reason I am having so many issues with my poor cats that i wanted to leave this review and hope that someone else who is also having the same issue will read it and find some solution as well. Natural products work wonders and are much safter than chemicals we ingest. Once again I rate this oil a 5 star because it has saved me countless amounts of money with natural cures versus having to visit the vet numerous times with 3 cats for simple things. (On a side note- my cats see a vet regularly and although my review sounds horrid, it really isn't a bad situation at all. Just a common thing for tapeworm and ringworm to happen but leave it to me to review about a product that heals these ailments in cats. I just hope to help others who find themselves scratching their heads, panicking and worrying to find natural solutions) *UPDATE* 1/17/17 The ringworm in my 3 cats has now healed from using the coconut oil- the ringworm took a month but it did heal without the use of medications or other treatments. I still use this on both myself and my 2 year old after a bath as an added skin moisturizer because we both have eczema and this helps keep my sons flareups minimal. This is also wonderful as a hair conditioner and a leave in hair treatment for my son as his scalp is drier and flakes easy- I gently massage a small amount into his scalp after washing and towel drying his hair at night and no more dry itchy scalp. A while back I read about using coconut oil for mouth sores and figured it would be worth a try for my son while he was teething and especially during a short period of time when he chewed his cheek so bad that it was bleeding. I ended up applying coconut oil with my finger to his cheek on the inside of his mouth and within a few days the bleeding stopped and it healed up completely after about a week or week and a half. Since then I have been using coconut oil instead of toothpaste to brush my sons teeth and he doesn't seem to mind at all, he is learning how to brush his own teeth and eats the coconut oil off the toothbrush then brushes his teeth. He hasn't had many problems with teething after starting with the coconut oil and he hasn't chewed his cheek again. At his 2 year checkup he didn't have cavities either and I check his teeth myself as well and no cavities to report- so there must be something about the coconut oil that is helping his oral health. This is also an alternative treatment I've tried using for diaper rash but since my son gets terrible rashes it's not something that has helped more than to soothe his irritated skin. Overall, this 54 oz jar will last 5 months of regular every day and everything use, except cooking as I have stopped using it for cooking unless i am baking something which in turn comes out very well- from the added sweetness of this oil. I've found many uses for this oil and am about to re-order another jar. ****************************************** This is now my favorite coconut oil brand because the taste and smell are wonderful. I have used this in cooking, also as a deep conditioning treatment in my hair and on my skin after a bath. Most recently I have used this to treat and heal ringworm on my 3 indoor cats. The coconut oil is soothing to the skin and its anti-fungal properties are helping to kill the ringworm. I apply a small amount to the skin affected on my cats 2 times a day and they of course lick it off but it is helping them much more than any ringworm medicine I've tried for cats. In a week the fur is growing back and my cats do seem to enjoy the taste of this coconut oil. I for one do love the taste of this coconut oil as well and will continue to use it for cooking and all the other many wonderful purposes I can find for it.

One of the most useful things to have around the house
Coconut oil is a fantastic thing to have around because you can use it for such a myriad of things. I call it the miracle oil because of just how many uses it has! And this particular brand is good quality and sells for a reasonable price. Here are a bunch of things I use it for: 1. I cook with it often because it has so many health benefits (there is a faint coconut aroma when you are using it, but it in no way infuses the food with coconut flavor, in case you are worried about that). You can also replace just about any type of shortening in a recipe with coconut oil; it gives food a great flavor and texture, and it does melt into a liquid pretty easily and quickly. You can often get away with using less butter in a recipe by replacing half or more with coconut oil (it does depend on the recipe, but usually this works fine). 2. If you get a skin reaction or a rash, coconut oil can help to sooth and heal it (great for after a facial, too). I broke out in a rash on my face after having an allergic reaction one time and found that coconut oil really, really helped with the discomfort. And nothing works as well as coconut oil for burns! I've gotten myself on my oven a couple of times from standing up too quickly with cookie sheets, and coconut oil soothes the pain right away and also heals the burn faster. 3. It's as good as bag balm (and smells nicer) for chapped skin in the wintertime. It's gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. I often put it on my lips and my knuckles. 4. I recently started using it instead of shaving cream when I do my legs, and they are so much softer because of it -- also, I cut myself less. 5. I put it on the ends of my hair in the shower (and rinse it off) to help prevent split ends. Give it about two minutes on the hair, then rinse. Don't over-apply or use it on your scalp -- it'll turn your hair into grease city! If you use just a little and just on the ends, you get really nice, soft, healthy hair. 6. When my friend's little girl got gum stuck in her hair, we discovered that coconut oil works even better than peanut butter for getting it out. 7. Recently, I used it to help get dried super glue off my fingers. (I used a nail file to sand off some of it first, then rubbed on coconut oil, then washed with Dawn dish soap.) You can also use it in tons of DIY products, like homemade deodorant and toothpaste, although I have not tried that (I have some granola friends who swear by it, though).

GET IT!
Coconut Oil is great and has many benefits, but I purchased this one specifically for beauty (hair & skin) purposes. I love that it has everything I am looking for: cold pressed, organic, unrefined, extra virgin. I live in a hot climate so naturally mine arrived as a liquid. The packaging unfortunately couldn't hold up with all that liquid inside so one of the corner seams of the container split almost from top to bottom causing leakage. I contacted Amazon and true to their AMAZING customer service, I was refunded the same day without having to send pictures or go through any long hassle, it literally took me less than 2 minutes, no questions asked! There was still 80% of the oil left so even though quite a bit of it leaked I would repurchase through Amazon as I can't get this specific coconut oil locally and I feel if I have any issues I can get my money back. Mine sits on my dresser in my room and again, I do live in a hot climate so it is completely 100% liquid. Since the original container split I store it in an old small, plastic, JIF peanut butter container that obviously is clean and has no traces of peanut butter left in it. You can use this as an all over moisturizer. I use it on both my face and body and I have had no adverse reactions. I especially like to use it in conjuction with my Jeurgens shea butter radiance lotion (the champagne-coloured bottle) by rubbing the coconut oil into my elbows and knees and using the Jeurgens on the rest of my body and over the same areas I applied the coconut oil. It makes my skin soft and glowy and the coconut oil ensures that no matter how cold or dry I get from being in air conditioning or harsh weather, my skin stays moisturized and soft! It does have a slight fragrance but it's not potent and strong and it fades away which makes it great to use with any lotion. I use it with scented ones too because it prevents ashiness on my elbows and knees because most of them are good for your body but keeping those areas moisturized not so much, but the coconut oil stops that without taking away from the delicious fragrances. I have long relaxed hair and I use it as my daily moisturizer. I don't use too much and I also massage it into my scalp and pay special attention to the ends. It doesn't make my hair greasy or weigh it down and it makes it soft and shiny. I do use it with other products sometimes for moisturizing but most days it's the only thing I use. I also use this when doing hot oil treatments or my hair. I shampoo twice then I mix 2 tablespoons of this coconut oil with castor and olive oil or sometimes jojoba oil (all pure, organic and unrefined) then place the container with the mixture down into another container with boiling hot water to heat it up (DO NOT HEAT OIL IN THE MICROWAVE). I then apply it to the ends of my hair and work it up to the roots and massage it in and cover my head with a plastic shower cap. After an hour I rinse with warm water and follow up with my conditioner then style as I usually would. The results are silky, soft, shiny, thick hair that feels amazing. The other oils definitely play a big role, I can use the olive oil by itself for a hot oil treatment but I don't think the coconut oil gives similar results unless used with other oils. It's definitely worth the price for such a good oil and it has so many uses. Even with the leakage and after using it everyday for a month, it's barely moved so It will last a long time. If you cook with it however, it'll obviously use up faster.

Very good & the dogs love it too!
This is our favorite Coconut Oil! It comes in a very large, plastic bottle, & we love that it is non-GMO. We've been buying this brand for the past few years, & highly recommend it. It has a variety of uses. The 2 main reasons we've been buying this is 1) to cook with 2) as a treat for the dogs. What I do is I open the jar & divide it in half. It's a large container that will last you awhile. One is for us to use while cooking. It's great for sauteing vegetables. The other half of the jar is labeled "dogs", & we use it to stuff into bones. We buy the plain, white, unstuffed femur bones (you can pick up for less than $5 each), & then "stuff" the bone with the coconut oil. The dogs go absolutely crazy for this treat, & it keeps them busy when we leave the house. It does not need to be refrigerated, & comes in solid form. If it is warm in our house, we will notice it does melt, so that's something to be aware of. Keep it in a cool, dry place. I was happy to find this on Amazon, & it was actually less expensive than our local grocery store. The price fluctuates, so that's something to keep in mind when shopping. (My last purchase I paid $16.99, which is a great deal for the jar this size). I've tried other brands (both from Costco & Sams), & neither compared to Carrington Farms. This one tastes the best & is the best value. Highly recommend! Hope you found this review helpful. Happy Shopping! :)

Just got this and AMAZING! New to the whole coconut oil experience (here ...
Just got this and AMAZING! New to the whole coconut oil experience (here in texas we like to cook with animal fats) but I started a paleo primal eating type thing reading up on the benefits of coconut oil and the many uses decided to buy this. The coconut oils at the local health places was outrageous in price and for such small jars so I went out on a limb here and purchased. One thing i noticed and why its not a 5 star was it came as oil and not a solid now I was just aassuming by the picture it would be a soild oil if that makes sense kinda like the ones you see at the markets. Im no coconut oil expert and it may have to do with whether or not its refined, organic and such. The oil its self pretty darn good. My first trial was searing a piece of swai with a little salt and pepper..For those of you that are from my parts and graze on beef ALOT swai is a mild flavor fish...#trying healthy anyhoo the fish cooked in the coconut oil was on point..now you can taste and smell the coconut which I thought added to the mild fish it was not overly coconutty in my opinion. I will say in a few weeks when I get tired of eggs and miss gluten and decide that caveman eating is bull I will probably continue to cook any kind of fish in this. Tonight Im trying chicken Im sure it will be just as tasty now beef on the other hand unless your going for some wierd chinese stirfry will probably be best to bust out the bacon grease ; ) Im pretty sure the cavemen seared some ribeyes in bacon fat..Also while I was cooking the fish I couldnt help but rub some on my hands (something you wouldnt do with bacon grease) or would you? Hands felt silky soft and smelled so good..Then I tried the coconut oil on my hands and yea that worked to..hehe This is worth the 20 bucks..And if for some reason you dont like the taste you can find so many other uses..

5 star value value for 4 star oil. 101 uses for this stuff.
This may not be Nutiva-levels of quality, but I don't really care about that. This product ticks a lot of my "good boxes" and is the best value I've seen so far. I haven't even tried using it for cooking really...but I use it in my coffee as a fatty boost to sate my hunger later, I use it to condition my leather shoes, I use it to help treat my scalp, I use it on my neck after shaving, and I use it on my dog when he gets irritated & dry skin (and give him a little to lick up too!). My mother uses this same brand to soothe her eczema and dry skin. Some notes, if you're new to coconut oil - This coconut oil has a taste and a smell (the former not so much of coconut, and the latter very much of coconut). If you want an oil without these qualities, get refined coconut oil. This should have little to no odor or taste, but most of the same benefits. - Coconut oil is comedogenic. That is, depending on the individual, it may block the pores on your skin and cause blackheads. Different products work different for everyone, so just know this. I originally used it to oil cleanse my face (sort of like how fire fights fire) before I found this out. It didn't bother me that I could tell, but jojoba oil may be better for my dehydrated/oily skin type. I still use it on my neck and scalp with no issues that I am aware of. - Coconut oil has a very high melting point. Just rubbing it between your hands will cause it to melt. My sister didn't know this when she stole some, and called me up asking me why the container of coconut oil she left in the car melted and got over all of her clothes. Why she put it in the same bag with her clothes, I am not sure. On the other hand, if it's a cool day, your coconut oil will be hard as a rock in your pantry. If you have a cooler climate you may want to transplant the oil into smaller, microwaveable containers and just let it run for a few seconds before you shove a spoon in there. - Do NOT contaminate any container you put coconut oil in. Always use a clean spoon, a q-tip, a tongue depressor/craft stick, etc. to take some oil out, and never double dip! Leave anything in there and it will grow. You will either be putting this on your body or inside of your body, so you want to make sure you keep it clean and safe to use.
