Great value. Read some comments about expiration date on box. The box I got had an expiration date 6 months from purchase, enough time to use up stock. Vermont Curry has a smooth taste with beef, vegetables and great consistency. Directions are easy to follow, convenient for using up left over vegetables. Heat level Hot is spicy without a disagreeable aftertaste. I've mixed hot and mild together for guests who prefer a curry that's got spicy flavor without a lot of heat.

Recommended by Japanese people for us to get. Hot is well rounded with the spices you’re looking for without the heat, more like a medium heat at most . Curry is now on our regular menu rotation (Japanese style…not Indian)

I live the Vermont Curry — perfect every time I cook my curry.

This curry has become a staple dish in our household. We make curry rice every other Tuesday, and sometimes more than that! It's so good, I'm craving some just typing this. I do have to say that the instructions on the back are a tad lacking. We cook the onion brown the stew meat first, then add the water and bring to a boil before letting simmer for anywhere between 30 min to an hour. This makes the meat super tender. Then we add the carrots and potatoes so they don't fall apart from over boiling. Also, this may say "HOT" but it has no spice. It is just less sweet compared to the mild and medium. Highly recommended, 10/10, we will be buying for many years to come.

I love this stuff and happy to find in bigger size. Wish driver would put in my weather protected container next to front door with big sign.

While I do love the taste of this curry, it is very salty. Be careful with recipes containing chicken broth or soy sauce. Any additional sodium makes it almost inedible.

Tasty and arguably the best of all the premade Japanese curry roux blocks out there when the price is competitive. This hot version has a bit of heat to it, but is fairly mild in reality if you have any sort of spice tolerance. The flavor profile is rich and savory yet also just a slight touch of sweetness too. If you want to have it a bit sweeter I’d recommend towards the end of cooking to mix in some honey to taste. One entire package (of the 5) can make a huge meal preps worth/family sized serving of curry.
