Loved the book, thrilling experience

This book was a huge disappointment for me. The writing felt weak, the characters were poorly developed, and the narrative lacked depth. The entire plot reminded me of an outdated B-grade movie rather than a well-crafted novel. The premise itself felt absurd — characters casually choosing to live in a haunted house just to “help deceased spirits” without any convincing emotional or logical buildup. The character dynamics were even harder to accept. Nineteen-year-old girls randomly moving in with boys in another house, and a teenage girl falling in love with a homeless man who appears to be in his forties or fifties — none of it felt believable or thoughtfully handled. There was little nuance, subtlety, or literary value in the storytelling. I genuinely feel like I wasted my time reading it. What puzzles me most is how widely this book was recommended on Instagram. It makes me wonder whether those recommending it actually read it, or if the promotions were paid endorsements. Overall, I found no redeeming qualities in this book and would not recommend it.
