These check valves are great. I put a pressure booster on our incoming well line and have one of these on the line going to the outdoor hose bibs which comes off before water softener so we can water plants and one after water softener that supplies the inside of the house. By doing this if we have a hose bib open it doesn't detract from the pressure inside. As far as fit & function, these work great and actually are small enough to fit in with all the piping.

Such a simple concept but I've tried several that don't work. This one does. I have a small water pump with a pressurized tank that doesn't have a backflow prevention valve, so as soon as the pressure tank reaches pressure and the pump turns off, all of the water is forced back out through the inlet and the pump would turn on again for a nonstop cyclical process. This was a very cheap solution to totally prevent that from happening as nothing can flow back out through the inlet.

I ended up returning this because I accidentally bought it and needed the half inch instead. That being said I installed the half inch which is identical besides the width and it works great. I'm using it to bypass an old spring and ball check valve on a 130 PSI 20 gallon compressor!

Installation went well, but when turned the water on there was a leak on one side. Removed, retaped and tightened the fittings, but still leaked (this time on both sides). Removed and installed a thrid time with completley new fittings and more teflon tape, but still has leak on one side. On inspection, the depth of the threads is not deep enough for the fittings to come tight before they bottom out on the check valve housing.

I bought this check valve because I was installing a carbonated water tap in my home. I installed this and still the water to my whole home ended up being carbonated (shower, toilet, etc.). Turns out you need a special check valve for carbonated water systems. This item otherwise seemed like a good product. It just wasn't what I needed.

I am installing this check valve as part of a yard faucet (in-ground installation), to keep hose water from returning to the water line when the line pressure fluctuates and the hose is turned off at the nozzle. From pushing on the moving parts, I feel this check valve will last long underground and not leak through.

Funciona a la perfeccion

This valve is larger and feels much heavier than the other I purchased. The one way valve mechanism is also larger and opens more widely allowing much better water flow. This product is so good I’m sending the other one back and installing another one of these. I highly recommend it for the extra few dollars.
