Listen, if there’s one eyeliner I can’t live without, it’s this little gem right here—the CLIO Sharp So Simple Waterproof Pencil Liner. I’ve been using it for years, and every time I try something new, I always come running back. I love a crisp, defined eye, especially in my waterline, but I also like a soft, smudgy edge that gives that effortless, sultry look. A brush liner? Too harsh and way too high-stakes—I don’t have the patience for perfection on the first try! But this pencil? It’s the perfect balance of precision and forgiveness. Is it totally budge-proof for 12 hours straight? Not quite, but with my oily lids (even with primer), I can get a solid 7 AM to 2 PM wear time before I need a quick refresh. And for me, that’s impressive. Plus, if you use eyelid tape, this liner actually adheres well and still pops—though, fair warning, it’s a little less forgiving on tape if you make a mistake. The deep black shade is rich and bold, absolutely perfect for tight-lining my upper lashes. But my secret sauce? I layer it! Black on the waterline, dark brown above it, and then another soft brown on top—it gives the eyes such a dimensional, polished look. I do wish they had a shade between black and dark brown, but honestly, the formula and smooth application keep me hooked. One thing to note: this liner sometimes goes out of stock on Amazon, so if you see it available and you’re running low, order a batch! Nothing’s worse than scrambling for a replacement and having to settle for something that just doesn’t measure up. Whenever I’m in Asia, I stock up like crazy because I refuse to be without it. Long story short: if you love an eyeliner that’s sleek, smooth, and easy to work with while still staying put, this is THE ONE. I’ll be using it for years to come!

My go to eyeliner. So easy to use, thin enough to get really crisp wings, lasts pretty long time as long as you don’t rub your eyes too hard. Colors are great, love the brown and grey ones to have a softer eye look! Just be careful not to twist too much product out at once as it breaks kinda easy with force, but as long as there’s only a tad bit out at a time it works great!

Eye irritation: none. Color accuracy: blackest black. Waterproof: yes. Softness: soft (not too hard, but hard enough to be able to push against upper waterline). Ease of application: easy. Smudge resistance: once dried, smudge resistant. I went hiking with this, indoor climbing, did weight training with literal sweat dripping off my face and eyebrows. This stuff still holds onto my upper waterline! HOLY MOLY! I hope Clio will never ever retire this eye pencil. I bought already a backup one in case the current one goes empty.

I bought this product earlier and have been very happy with the results, and wanted to have a back up for when I run out! The fine barrel and twist for more product makes it easy to use and a great everyday eyeliner. I do find that my wing ends are smudged off by the end of the day, but i also notoriously touch my eyes!

As an Asian girlie, I struggle a ton with gel eyeliners melting into an oily mess in my monolid folds, and this has been a wonderful answer to that! It's basically smudge proof from anything short of mashing your finger against your eye and wiping as hard as you can, super slayful LOL A rather dry formula, more like what I'd imagine a traditional pencil formula to be like despite being in twist up packaging like most gel eyeliners. Not the most blendable, as a result; blending it too much causes it to go patchy and lose all pigment, and as a result isn't great for a super smokey liner unless you're using it as like a base underneath like a black powder shadow. Light blending to softly transition to skin is fine, however, and looks wonderful when used in that way! A worthy trade-off for an inexpensive liner that lasts me through super busy shifts in restaurant work :) Great for punky girlies with a day job, but if you're trying to go full ethereal goth princess, maybe go for a liquid liner instead 🤣

Pretty, easy to use, but my eyes BURN!!!!!!! I don't put it directly next to my eyeballs, I run it under the eyelashes and my eyes burn and water continuously. Can I get my money back cause I am going to have to trash it.

I am torn about this product. Pros: it lasts, great pigment and easy to apply. Cons: not enough product, last pencil I bought (I’ve bought twice) was half way broken, it’s a little thick for drawing finer wing lines and I can never quite achieve the look I want, it does smudge (I have oily, hooded lids), and when I draw it along my lash line the base of my eyelashes get sticky making it difficult to apply mascara effectively without clumping or having my eyelashes go a weird direction. I do like the fact that it does seem to last longer than most eyeliners. Is there a trick to make it more sharp for a fine line? Was wondering if putting it in the freezer might work. As of now, I’m still using this product because I haven’t experimented with anything else.
