**This deluxe first-print edition will have sprayed edges.** From USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes the second in a dark and steamy college romance series featuring elite criminal families and morally gray heroes. Creighton King and Annika Volkov are complete opposites: he rarely speaks, and she rarely stops. But beneath the surface, their secrets might be enough to break them… Creighton King is silent, brooding, and hostile. Annika Volkov loves him. She is his opposite in every way: a ray of sunshine, the life of the party, and constantly talking. What Annika doesn't know is that Creighton's quiet, beautiful exterior masks a dark, hidden persona. A violent one. Creighton knows he will never escape his past, so he takes his pain out on others. It's his only release. He doesn't expect to find any attraction to the girl that is his antithesis. But as Annika attempts to get closer to him, he finds that he enjoys her company more than anyone else's―especially once he discovers her wild side. And now that he's infatuated, she will never escape him. Even if their families' histories are deeply connected in ways neither of them could have imagined. Annika is the light and Creighton is the dark. Will she be able to light the way for him? Or will he succumb to the darkness and take her down with him? Review: Passion, Pain, and Possession: Anni and Creigh’s Explosive Love Story in God of Pain - Rina Kent never fails to deliver dark, addictive romance, and God of Pain is no exception. This book is an absolute rollercoaster of emotions, tension, and undeniable chemistry between two characters who shouldn’t work together but somehow, they do. Anni and Creigh are like fire and ice, oil and water completely opposite in so many ways, yet they fit together so perfectly that it’s impossible not to root for them. Anni is rebellious, carefree, and untamed, while Creigh is structured, disciplined, and carries a quiet intensity that makes him all the more dangerous. Their dynamic is electric, with a push-and-pull tension that keeps you hooked from the first page to the last. What I love most about their relationship is how they challenge each other. Anni is the kind of heroine who refuses to be caged, even when the man in front of her has the power to break her. She’s wild, stubborn, and refuses to conform yet Creigh, with his controlled dominance, sees her in a way no one else does. He doesn’t just want to tame her; he wants to understand her, possess her, and make her his in a way that is both passionate and consuming. And Anni? She pushes him right back, cracking through his carefully constructed walls and unraveling the parts of him he tries so hard to keep hidden. The way Rina Kent crafts their story is pure magic. The tension is off the charts, and the emotional depth between them is beautifully raw. There are moments of pure frustration, moments that make your heart ache, and moments that leave you breathless because their chemistry is just that intense. And let’s not forget the darker undertones of the story Rina Kent always brings a sense of danger and intrigue, making every scene even more gripping. Beyond the romance, the world-building and side characters add so much richness to the book. The Royal Elite universe is always filled with complex dynamics, family expectations, and power plays, and God of Pain weaves all of that into Anni and Creigh’s journey in a way that feels seamless. Overall, God of Pain is an intoxicating, intense, and deeply satisfying read. If you love dark romance with strong-willed characters who crash into each other and create something beautiful from the wreckage, this book is a must-read. Anni and Creigh’s love story is messy, passionate, and unforgettable just the way it should be. Review: Great book, meh nickname - I loved this book, the only thing I didn't love was that he called her "little purple" It reminded me of a $ex toy. Both characters had huge growth in the book but most of all, I love that she ended up choosing herself in the end.

Dark and Spicy College Romance
"God of Pain" by Rina Ken delves into the complex and passionate relationship between Creighton King and Annika Volkov, two characters who couldn't be more different. Creighton, the strong and silent type with a dark past, and Annika, the talkative and bubbly mafia princess, form an intriguing duo in this dark college romance. Creighton and Annika’s interactions are a mesmerizing push and pull, drawing the reader deeper into their tumultuous world. The fact that they are young and in college adds an element of naiveté to their relationship, making their journey engaging. The slow start of their relationship quickly escalates, leaving readers eager to uncover the secrets and emotions that lie beneath the surface. Lines like, "I might have been the one who dominated her, but she’s the one who’s left her mark everywhere," show the depth of their connection and the passion that fuels it. In my opinion, "God of Pain" may not fit the traditional grumpy sunshine trope, it leans more towards a dark college secret society romance, where opposites attract in a dark and spicy manner. In summary, "God of Pain" by Rina Ken offers readers an enthralling and passionate journey into the lives of Creighton and Annika. Their complex relationship, combined with the dark and spicy elements of the story, make it a captivating read for those who enjoy dark college romance with a twist.

💜
All the books in the series are set up the same but have their own story lines that intertwine which is nice. Over all a good series with mild spice.

So good
I like this one even more than the first. There is so much sorry and I love the dynamic of the main characters. Good girl versus bad boy, and the twist. So good. It’s spicy yes and definitely an adult read, but the storyline is really good. The books all build on each other so you get invested in all the characters. The author does a great job of leaving crumbs regarding the side characters to help build their stories as well! Off to book 3!!

Absolutely devoured this story!
God of Pain by Rina Kent is book two of the Legacy of Gods series and I loved it. Just devoured it. So far this is my second favorite book in the series, in which I have read three so far. I loved Creighton and Annika’s story so much. Creighton is Eli’s brother and is reserved, quiet and yet is also determined, obsessive and over-protective and I loved everything about him. Annika is a mafia princess who has been kept sheltered, though she is trying to spread her wings and is all sunshine and very caring. You would think these two could not possibly go together at all and yet, she was drawn to him from the start, though he generally ignores her. For Creighton, he has very specific needs and desires and due to a traumatic past, is driven for a revenge he craves above all else. And yet, he is drawn to Annika even if he tries to ignore it. Once they begin spending time together, they get to know each other and understand each other in ways no one else does. Their journey is not an easy one. They face obstacle after obstacle and yet their needs and desire draw them back to each other over and over. Primarily narrated by James Joseph and MacKenzie Cartwright, I devoured this story from start to finish. I am loving these characters so much and am so glad I fouond this series! Happy listening!

✨ 4.25 ✨
God of Pain was an absolutely entertaining, spicy and emotional read. I definitely enjoyed this book a lot more than the first one in the series, as these characters and their romance had a lot more depth and passion in my opinion. I was able to listen to the audiobook at the same time as well and I have to say that the narrators did a fantastic job and definitely immersed me in the story more. This is the second book in the Legacy of Gods series and while the main characters of this book are the second generation of the Royal Elite series and the Deception trilogy, those are not needed to be read before starting this one. The family tree and background of these characters were well detailed and explained in this book. I would highly recommend though, checking the content and trigger warnings before reading. It is dual POVs of the main characters, Creighton and Annika, and has some amazing tropes like: grumpy-sunshine, opposites attract, an innocent heroine and a dark romance. The overall plot and storyline were beautifully written and well-paced. There were some heartfelt, amusing, action-packed, angsty and heartbreaking moments. There were also some twists that I was not expecting, but definitely pulled on my heart strings and made me tear up a bit. I will say though, there were a few subplots that weren’t as explored as I would have liked and somewhat rushed at the end, like Annika’s OCD. The romance and development between Creighton and Annika was fantastic. Their tension, chemistry and spice was perfectly written and explored. I just loved how different but compatible they were; they definitely brought out the best in each other. Creighton’s possessiveness and jealousy was also my favorite. There were definitely a few similarities with Creighton and Annika’s romance to their parents, which I actually really loved. I also liked all the hints and snippets to the other potential couples in the series. It definitely made me more curious on where their stories are heading. The banter and group chat between all the guys was absolutely hilarious as well. This book definitely seemed to focus more on Creighton’s side and group, which I didn’t mind. I gotta say that my favorite moment was the confrontation between Aiden (Creighton’s father) and Adrian (Annika’s father). So intense but hot as hell. I also just loved Adrian’s chapter, he will always be one of my favorite characters. The ending was a bit rushed but still good. The epilogue also gave a few hints to the next book in the series and was honestly just the perfect conclusion for Creighton and Annika’s story. Overall, just a fantastic and enjoyable read.

I loved it so much!
Okay, this book was LONG but I wasn't bored for even a second. The writing was obviously very engrossing and the clash of the RES world with the Bratva world was more thrilling than I was expecting. This book was much better than book one in the series. I can't stop thinking about all the characters especially that one scene where Adrian & Aiden finally clash! I also loved Creighton & Annika. They gave me the buzz and I loved their dynamics. And not to mention the pov's of Adrian, Lia and Aiden were very heartfelt and at the same time entertaining. I'm pretty obsessed with this book mostly because of all the characters involved. I ate up every single interactions between them. Creighton's bond with Eli, Elsa and Aiden was so much more than I could ever have contemplated. The flow of the story was smooth and I just devoured it in one sitting! It started and ended with a bang and kept me hooked throughout. It was easily a five star read for me and I just can't stop thinking about what's going on between Jeremy & Cecily and Eli & Ava respectively. I seriously don't know how am I going to wait for Eli & Ava's book because their crumbs in this one were top-tier and it's confirmed that their book is going to be the last in the series. I can't stop wondering whose book is going to be next though.

5 - oscuro, sensazionale, travolgente
IO NON SO NEMMENO DA DOVE INIZIARE CON QUESTO LIBRI SINCERAMENTE. NON NE HO LA F*TTUTA IDEA. Creig e suo fratello Eli mi avevano conquistato già in God of Malice. E' spietato, sanguin*so. E l'infliggere dolore sessu4lm3nte. E' un sadic*. Vedere quel lato di lui, così domaninate. Oscuro.

💜 Creighton and Annika 💜
This series is amazing. The story is great ( as always), the characters are interesting and have depth and the side characters are always funny or insightful in some way or another. It was highlight for me having Lia, Adrian and Aiden’s pov for so many reasons. This book made me like Lia and Adrian more than before and Aiden is just a f***ing great father. Who knew he would be this amazing? Elsa is still everything he sees but his sons are his reward and I loved everything second of them. Annika is a balanced character in the way that she can be carefree but also serious and fierce. She’s loyal to her family to a fault and she had a difficult journey ahead of her in order to get what she wanted in life. Creighton was so interesting to unravel. He’s the type that only speaks when needed and doesn’t like to waste words. Words are very important and silence can say a lot. He’s so quiet and seemingly doesn’t care about anything but when Annika comes into his life, he started living and appreciated how much Annika can babble to fill the silence. Their relationship was so seamless but also not in a way. I loved how they were together. Annika persistence made them inevitable. Cray’s dominance was so 🥵🫠! Their sexy times together were amazing and he’s definitely the God of Pain. 🤭🫠 Cray has a shocking and sad past and the way his life intertwined with Annika’s was just 🤯. It broke my heart when everything came to light and it was painful to read. Eli surprised me with how much he doted on Creighton and I loved every second of it. Eli has a lot going on in his mind so I’m very interested to see how his story goes. Landon is still being Landon in this one and I don’t know what to make of him. He’s not on my favorite list for now. 😶 Brandon is still sweet guy and I wonder how much darkness he has inside him. 🤔 Nikolai is still as crazy and I loved him. Nikolai and Brandon are happening and I wanted it badly! Jeremy is a lot like Adrian but also not. I wonder how much he differs from Adrian tho and how he runs his empire. Adrian is great. I didn’t loved him in his book but this book definitely gave him brownie points even though he’s still overprotective. He’s Papa bear through and through. Aiden as I mentioned was amazing every time he appeared. I loved how he supported his sons no matter how ludicrous their ideas or what they wanted were. Obviously he made me cry towards the end. He’s just so great and I loved him and Elsa and how they dealt with everything. 🥹 His confrontation with Adrian was gold! Cecily is in trouble for sure and I have a theory so let’s see how wrong I am about it. 😂 I’m 99.9% sure Cecily and Jeremy’s book are next. Either way I’m super ready for God of Wrath!

Exceptional! Absolutely Amazing
First I like to announce that I have a love and hate relationship with Rina’s books! She always destroys me with her stories and her capacity of making the unthinkable connections. For my review for GOP, I can say that I cried like a little girl. And that never happened before with her books. I guess being Adrian’s (which is my favorite) daughter I knew she would be more like Lia, since Jeremy is his carbon copy, but never in my wildest thoughts I would think she would be like that. Annika surprised me in the best way possible. I am so in love with her, that I wanted keep her to myself. Creighton however, I need to pick my jaw from the floor. He was just absolutely intriguing, amazing with a big J/P tag in his forehead. I was not prepared for this! I love to see his relationship with Eli, and seeing exactly how they interact was the cherry of this cake. All this hypothetical stories and possible plots just started building in my mind and now I can’t stop thinking about Eli and Ava, Jeremy and Cecile and Brandon and Nikolai. The twist in this book just crushed my heart and at the same time this characters earned my absolute respect. I did not see this coming. I don’t know if Rina planned this or if just came to her writing this book, but I’m now afraid and excited to what’s coming and at the same time I know that all my theories for the next books are not even close to what she will deliver. I’m just now hungover and I’m gonna spend a least a week wallowing and thinking about this amazing story!!
